Hello everyone,
Today I am going to review the Fair & Lovely Anti Marks Fairness Cream For Blemish-less Fair Skin which has been sitting on my beauty case for a pretty long time. Actually, I picked two packs of this particular product before a couple of months; one for my mom and one for me. I am not a pale skin lover, I have never used Fair and Lovely products before but I picked this one just because of the Anti Marks claim as I had some 'here and there' marks on my face left by some heat bumps and acne. My mom has finished her first tube and bought another but me, had no thought of using it till two weeks ago. Now, I am using this fairness cream for past 2 weeks and here is my review on it. I am also including my mom's experience with this product in this review. Go ahead!

My Experience with Fair & Lovely Anti Marks Fairness Cream

Packaging: This fairness cream comes in a neat tube which is packed inside an outer carton. The tube is neat and white it colour whereas the twist type cap is green. The nozzle is long with a moderately small hole to dispense the product. I would say that this is a neat, easy to handle and travel friendly packaging. I have no complaints about the packaging part of this product.

Colour, Consitency & Fragrance: It is a thick cream with a light peach tint which looks pleasant for the eyes. I do not need to say about the fragrance; it is a typical Fair & Lovely one but this one has a different floral scent with it as an extra which I liked :) Nothing in this cream's fragrance is going to irritate even if you have a sensitive nose.

How it works: Though being thick, this cream spreads very smoothly onto the facial skin without any hardness. It blends like a dream and gives a very mild-dewy finish to the skin. This is no greasy or stretchy feel after applying this cream over my facial skin. My skin feels just perfectly moisturized and soft. However I did not like that 'dewy' finish on my already normal-oily skin. (Terribly oily in monsoons now!) If it is winter, this cream would have suited me well. If you have normal-dry skin, this would perfect fit in the place of your day cream. However if you do not like the dewy effect, you need to set it with a compact or a loose powder. Very dry skins and very oily skin might not find this product helpful.
   Okay now coming to the anti-marks effect, my mom told me that it has reduced the thickness and darkness of her spots with one whole month of everyday usage. I have been using this product for past two weeks and it has cleared out my uneven skin tone up to a good extent but definitely it is not going to give you a spot-free clear fairness in 4 weeks. For the price, it is a good day cream which moisturizes and brightens normal-dry skin types well. If you have oily or extremely dry skin type, then stay away from this product.

• It doesn't give a flat powdery finish to the skin
• If you like that light 'dewy' look, then you might love this
• Evens out skin tone with regular usage

• Mild floral fragrance which is even suitable for sensitive noses
• Even though being thick, this spreads easily onto the skin
• Affordable for the quantity and worth
• Would be a great winter moisturizer for normal skin types
• The packaging is neat, sturdy and travel friendly.
• Available everywhere!

Cons of Fair & Lovely Anti Marks Fairness Cream 

• Does leaves a whitish caste on dusky-dark skin tones :(
• If you have oily-extremely oily skin types, this might make your skin greasy
• Not for combination skin types too who have oily T Zone
• It doesn't moisturze dry-extra dry skin types well either. In winters, it might stretch your skin
• Does not make you fair or pale; and one needs to be very patient to notice the anti-mark effect

My Recommendation: Yes. I recommend this product to all normal-dry skinned, dewy finish loving beauties. Usually, most of the fairness creams, especially Fair & Lovely gives a flat matte and powdery finish to the skin but if you want Fair & Lovely which would give you a moisturized dewy finish, grab this. I do not recommend this product to oily skinned girls anytime.


Would I Repurchase?: Not sure! I am going to try this, this winter and if it works really well on my scars and spots, I will repurchase it for next winter to use on my normal-oily skin :) But my mom loves this products and she said that she is repurchasing it every time for her normal-dry skin.

My Experience with Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Day Creme

Packaging: This product is packed in a white, sleek tube with a screw type opening. The nozzle dispenses the right amount of product with its tiny hole, hence no wastage. This sleek white tube is placed inside a outer carton and overall, the packaging is simple, travel friendly and easy to use.

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance: This is a white coloured fairness day cream with a very subtle peach tint. The peach tint is almost invisible to the eyes. The texture of this cream is smooth, moderately thick and it has a gentle, pleasing floral fragrance similar to the Lakme Fairness Day Cream which claims to contain sacred lotus extracts. The texture and fragrance of both these creams are more or less similar to each other.

How it works: I used this cream on summer and it suited my normal-oily skin well. This cream spreads smoothly onto the facial skin and gives a perfect matte finish which many oily skinned beauties out there would love. My T-Zone is left with a shine-free finish and moreover it brightened up my face instantly. I had to set the cream with a compact to make its staying power longer. This fairness day cream helped my facial skin stay matte for 3-4 hours but after that my T-Zone started to show some shine. This is not a problem with me though. With regular usage, it did not help lighten my scars or anything. It did not even lighten my complexion and finally, this is one fairness cream for oily skinned beauties who prefer an instant, bright matte finish. The tube packaging can also be considered easy-to-use and hygienic when compared to the previously launched Lakme Perfect Radiance Fairness Cream which comes in a pink tub. Another thing I wanted to mention is that it caused a very mild tingling sensation on my skin for 2-3 days when I first used it (I am not sure whether it is because of the continuous release technology they claim) and later my skin got practiced to it. Hence, if you have an extra sensitive skin type, you may not like this cream. Overall, this is a good, affordable instant brightening day cream for oily skinned beauties. A tube lasts me for 1 month with daily usage.

• Spreads smoothly and settles into a shine free matte finish
• Instantly brightens up the facial skin
• A perfect day cream for every oily skinned beauty out there
• The price is reasonable
• Has a mild floral smell
• Easily available everywhere

Cons of Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Day Creme

• No SPF
• Does cause a mild tingling sensation when used first
• Does not help with whitening skin or anything as claimed.
• Surely a no-no product for normal-dry and dry skinned people
• The matte finish doesn't last more than 3-4 hours

Recommendation: Oily skinned beauties who love matte finish day creams can give this a try! Do not expect any whitening or lightening effect from this cream.


Would I Repurchase?: I don't think so. There are more affordable day creams in the market with better results and moreover, I am not that much into fairness products.

My Experience with Aurita Naturals Transformation Cream

Packaging: Aurita Naturals Transformation cream is packed in an off-white sturdy plastic tub with black labels on it. The cap of the tub is screw-typed and an inner lid is present inside to prevent any mess while using this cream. Though being travel friendly, tubs aren't that hygienic to use hence I wish this would have come in a tube.

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance: This is a creamy, thick, white coloured cream with a pungent smell. I personally did not like its smell and that is a main drawback of this product according to me. However I guess this smell is because of the natural ingredients present in this product. :) Very sensitive noses may not like it.

How it works: While picking it online, I thought that is like a day fairness cream but this one is not a cream actually. It's something like a face pack. Yes! We need to apply it and wash it after 20 minutes. They should have named it as Aurita Naturals Transformation Face Pack :P Ok that's ok. I have no issues with it, anything is okay for me if it is going to fade my dark spots. After cleansing my face, I smoothed this cream (read face pack!) over my facial skin and uff, the pungent smell bothered me a lot. It is sour and strong actually. But still, I adjusted it and kept this cream cum face pack on my face for 20 minutes as mentioned and washed away after that. Voila! I can say that it has really brightened my face visibly. My face is left soft, matte and bright. You would surely need a moisturizer after using this cream pack as it leaves your facial skin a bit tight but the glow is incredible. It removed my new tan very well and made my facial skin radiant. You will need only a small quantity for the whole face and so a single tub will last very longer. The price cannot be considered expensive while seeing the results on my skin and hence I would say this is an excellent skin lightening product (I don't mind the fragrance) for brides and tanned girls! Go pick one for sure if you want brighten skin with less dark spots.

Pros of Aurita Naturals Transformation Cream:

• Does really removes the tan and brightens up skin instantly!
• A small quantity is enough for the whole face and neck
• Spreads easily onto the skin without any hardness
• You can also use this on your tanned arms and feet
• Washes away quickly without leaving any greasiness behind
• Leaves skin matte and hence this is a great product for oily skinned girls
• Regular use (I used it twice or twice in a week) lightened my dark spots considerably
• Price is okay when compared to the results.

Cons of Aurita Naturals Transformation Cream:

• The pungent smell :( but I don't mind it for the result it delivers
• You will definitely need a moisturizer after using this cream cum pack.

Makeup and Beauty Home Rating: 4.5/5


Recommendation: Yes yes! I highly recommend it. Go pick one for yourself if you want to remove your tan instantly. This would also act as a pre-party face pack well to give a quick glow to your skin.


Would I Repurchase?: No doubt! I am picking it all the time.

My Experience with Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Cream:

Packaging: The cream comes in a light pink colored tube. The transparent flip-top cap shuts tightly which makes it easy to use, travel friendly and also reduces wastage.

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance: The cream is white in colour, light weighted and has pleasant mild fragrance. There is nothing to worry if you have a sensitive nose.

How it works: I have been using this product for the past 3 weeks. I won't say that this is an excellent one. It gets easily absorbed, leaves no greasiness and stickiness and also controls the oiliness up to 4-5 hours (use twice after cleansing face to remain oil free throughout the day). It gives pinkish fairness instantly, but it is not long lasting. If you have dark skin, it may leave a whitish caste on your skin, which makes you look very unnatural as if you have applied 'Atta' on your face (just like the fair n lovely cream).

Pros of Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Cream:

• Easily available everywhere
• Contains UV filters
• Gives a matte finish to the skin and controls oiliness throughout the day if it is used twice.
• Easy to carry and attractive packing.
• Non-sticky and non greasy; hence this cream would do as a good day cream from oily skins.
• Mild Fragrance that doesn't irriate senses

Cons of Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Cream:

• Does not give any 3X long lasting pinkish fairness as claimed.
• Contains parabens, alcohol and other long list of chemical ingredients.
• Leaves dry skin stretchy and tight
• Leaves a whitish caste in dusky to darker skin tones.
• Little pricey where there are many other better matte finish day creams available in such lesser price.
• Not up to my expectations. There many other products and ways to control face oiliness in more affordable prices :(

Recommendation: No I won't. Pick it if you are in search of a good matte finish, oil control day cream for your oily skin. This will not give you 3X pinkish fair skin or anything in case if you are expecting but this serves as a good mattifying day cream for oily skin types.

How to Make Fairness Night Cream at Home?

As all we know, the thing 'skin fairness' is a huge craze among most of the Indian women. But our born skin colour is something we cannot change naturally. Chemical bleaching, whitening and other skin lightening treatments can give you a temporary brighter skin or end up in resulting a PALE unhealthy looking skin but only natural ingredients can work on your skin to bring out that original brightness. Don't mistake the word brightness for white skin. Pale, dusky, tan olive or dark, whatever skin type you have, your skin is beautiful if it is bright and glowing! A dark skinned, flawless, supple and glowing skin is seen beautiful when compared to a pale skin with dullness and blemishes. Don't you agree? 

    Okay fine. Today, let us check an interesting skin lightening night cream recipe that can be prepared easily at home with simple kitchen ingredients. You need to use this night cream for at least 15 days every night to see visible results but the results are completely natural and gives you a natural beauty unlike the other store bought skin whitening products.

Things you will need:

• 1/4 cup of almonds
• 1/4 cup of creamy yogurt
• 2 tsp of sweet lime juice
• A pinch of turmeric powder
• 1/2 teaspoon of sandalwood powder
• A pinch of saffron strands

How to Prepare?:

• Soak almonds overnight in fresh water. In the morning, peel of the skin and grind them to smooth paste. Collect this almond paste in a small clean bowl.
• Soon after preparing the fresh almond paste, put it the yogurt, sweet lime juice, turmeric powder, sandalwood powder and the saffron strands to the bowl. Blend well with a blender until smooth.
• Fresh lemon juice can be replaced for sweet lime juice. Turmeric powder is optional depending upon your wish as it is not easily available in many countries. 
• Store this smooth cream in a clean small bowl or tube and refrigerate immediately. As this cream is made of natural ingredients and prepared without any preservatives, this fairness cream should be used within one week. If not refrigerated, make sure to use it within an hour after preparation. 

How to Use?:

• Cleanse and pat dry facial skin at night before going to bed. You can use a mild gentle facial cleanser or some cleansing milk for this.
• After cleansing, take a small quantity of this prepared fairness cream and smooth over your facial skin. Massage gentlly until it gets completely absorbed. Go to sleep!
• Wash off face with clean water in the morning to see the natural glow. Continue this procedure for 2 weeks to start seeing the lightening results on your skin. This also helps in removing skin rashes, acne spots, blackheads and dark circles from your facial skin.

Vivel Active Fair, The Complete Fairness Cream Review

Before a week, I came across a television ad about a newly launched ITC product, the new Vivel Active Fair The complete fairness cream. I just wanted to check out how it works as a day cream. I have no intention to get whiter skin because I love my brown complexion. But yet, in search of a better mattifying day cream I bought a sample pack of this product a week ago. I have been using this for past one week. Let me share my experience with this fairness cream here in this review today.

My Experience with this Product:
I applied this cream twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed at night. It has a nice fragrance which doesn't really make my nose feel bad. It is light and in milky pink colour. The cream is so smooth and hence the skin absorbs it quickly. I felt an instant brightness in my skin after applying this cream. This cream suited for my normal skin very well. It doesn't feel sticky or too thick. This doesn't make my skin magically fair as shown in TV ads :) but it somewhat evened out my complexion with everyday use.

PROS

• Very affordable and cheap, works good too. (Rs 5 for 9g pack)
• Best to use as a foundation base moisturizer for oily skins.
• Nice fragrance which gives a fresh feel.
• Evens out complexion to an extent with regular use.
• Easily available in supermarkets and other shops.
• It doesn't show any side effects mainly :) I didn't experience any pimple or blackhead using this. Totally safe to use on skin.

CONS

• This cream might not suit dry skins as it doesn't have any good moisturizing ingredient. Dry skinned people should use this cream along with any heavy moisturizer to prevent skin from breaking.
• If you apply too much, It forms an artificial white layer on your skin. :(

No more cons I can find from this cream. It's quite good to use as a foundation base and a normal moisturizer. Even though the product doesn't make skin fairer as it claims, it's a nice product with no side effects. I suggest oily skinned beauties to take a try.
