Just Herbs No Sun Aloevera & Calendula Sun Screen Gel

After reviewing the Silksplash Neem-Orange Face Wash and Frugel Firmskin Skin Radiance Gel from just Just Herbs, Now I am reviewing their No Sun Sun Screen gel with Aloevera and Calendula extracts. From the first two products I used, the skin radiance gel is my most favorite one as it acts as a light moisturizer on oily skin types. So, I made this move to my summer HG list and of course using it everyday. Did you notice a thing about Just Herbs? All their product names are very attractive as well as natural. Not only the names are good, I find the products worthy from my experience too. This sunscreen gel is specially formulated for oily skin types, so say yay if your skin type is oily. Can we move on to the product description and review now? Let us see how it works!

Product Description
A  multi tasking  sun protection gel  especially suitable for use by  people with oily skin or in the scorching summer season when  applying an oil based sun protective seems unappealing. With  it’s built in UV protection and age control micro nutrients, it effectively  replenishes skin’s lost moisture and forms a protective barrier to UV rays to prevent sun spots, freckles and sun induced wrinkles.

Just Herbs No Sun Sun Screen Gel

Price: Rs.350 for 100gm

Shelf life: 2 years

Ingredient list
Bakuchi 2mg, Calendula 1mg, Van Haldi 2mg, Pit Papra 2mg, Pushpanjan 1mg, Kumari Swaras 10mg, Gajar Beej 1mg, Allantoin 1mg, Persic Oil 2mg, Gum & Parishut Jal.

My Experience with this Product
The Just Herbs No Sun Sun Screen gel comes in a plastic container with a pump dispenser. The bottle being transparent makes it easier to find out how much is left inside. Every squeeze is in control and the packaging is completely travel friendly. Hence, I have no complaints on the packaging part.

Named as gel, this product is actually creamy and smooth in nature, colored milky pale yellow. The colour is similar to that of fresh cream, but with a slight yellow tint. The container being transparent gives a look that scoops of butterscotch ice cream is filled inside. :D The fragrance is very subtle, floral and herbal mixed, which is natural and mild. Overall, the gel is cream, smooth and in perfect cream consistency, neither too thick, nor too runny.

I really want to admit now this thing about no sun sunscreen gel from Just Herbs. Last week, I went for an outing in hot sun (Don't you know how bad Chennai summers are!) and  happened to stay in sun for almost the whole day. To test this product, I applied this sunscreen on my left hand arms and fingers skipping the right hand. At the end of the day, the tanning is visible on the parts of right hand while the left hand remained almost same and untanned. This gave me a very nice impression about this sunscreen gel. It also helped me save my facial skin from tan and sunburns. Being a perfect sunscreen product, this works best on oily and normal skin types with natural Aloe vera and Calendula extracts. Moreover, the turmeric being a great antibiotic ingredient, prevents irritation caused by sweat and bacterial infections. As this is a natural product, one needs to be patient until it is completely absorbed by the skin. It takes not much time, but little more than the chemical cosmetics, so don't judge before it is completely absorbed. Excess use of this sunscreen gel may leave a ashy cast, but that disappears in minutes.

Overall, it is really a nice and must have sunscreen product in hot summers. A single bottle is going to last really long as a very tiny amount is needed for whole face and neck. For the worth, it is affordable and I am planning to get this every summer. :)

PROS
  1. Protects skin from tanning up to a great extent.
  2. I did not experience any sun burn while using this sunscreen. My skin feels safe all day long.
  3. Fragrance is natural and mild. This wouldn't surely make even sensitive noses to say nay.
  4. Smooth creamy texture spreads easily over the skin.
  5. Gives a semi matte finish without any greasiness. It feels light on the skin.
  6. Makes a perfect everyday sunscreen for oily to normal skin types.
  7. I skipped my moisturizer and just did set this with my compact. The aloe vera itself acts as a natural moisturizer for oily skins.
  8. Stays up to 5 hours being effective, which is a very decent staying time for a sunscreen. Re-application is needed if you are out in sun for more than 5 hours.
  9. As a single bottle would last longer, I enjoy using it as my body sunscreen lotion too.
  10. Instantly brightens skin with a cooling effect, being a great treat for sun burnt skin.
  11. Sturdy and travel friendly packaging. Pump dispenser makes it very hygienic.
  12. Regular use removes mild sun tan and softens the skin.

CONS
Nothing to mention as a con! Just an hint, do not apply this sunscreen gel excessively if your complexion is dark, to avoid the ashy cast.

My Recommendation: A must of sunscreen product for oily to normal skin types! You are surely going to stick to it. Dry skins do not worry, Just herbs have another variant of sunscreen gel for you.

Overall Rating: 4.9/5

Would I Repurchase?: Why not? Sure for every summer.

Home Remedies to Cure Summer Acne

Summer gives joy and is considered as a happy warmer season in cold Northern countries but in hot countries like India, it is of course a tough task for people to face summer without getting their skin getting damaged. In winter,. we do face some skin issues such as dryness and roughness but summer gives us harsh those UV rays, sweat, rashes, tan, sun burns and several heat bumps especially on the areas around mouth, forehead, neck and back. It is really a big headache treating these acne bumps because they itch and leave marks on our skin. What if this continues every summer? Your skin would be covered up with ugly looking spots everywhere.
Taking care of your skin in summer is a very essential part in your summer skincare routine, to maintain a clearer beautiful skin. Now I am going to share with you all some simple and natural ideas to vanish away those ugly summer acne bumps and also to prevent them leaving dark marks on your beautiful skin!

Natural Home Remedies to Fight Summer Acne & Heat Bumps

  • A bunch of fresh neem leaves should be collected and boiled in half a litre of fresh water. Allow this mixture to boil in simmer stove for about 20 minutes or until the colour changes. Switch off the stove and allow the neem serum to cool down. Filter and apply this neem serum over the summer acne affected places and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash away with cold water and pat dry. Neem acts as a natural medicine to cure heat acne and also helps in preventing bacterial infections.
  • Freeze rose water to make some ice cubes. These ice cubes can be rubbed over the acne to soothe the skin and cure summer acne as fast as possible. Rose water has healing properties which can also give your skin a nice relaxing sensation.
  • Go for raw milk! There is nothing purer than raw milk to treat your skin naturally. Dip a cotton pad in cold raw milk and apply over the affected areas. If done daily, your heat bumps and acne will vanish without any trace. Some might be allergic to milk, they can avoid this and go for the rose water treatment.
  • A very cooling and herbal natural treatment can be done at home to say goodbye to these summer acne bumps in no time. Collect some fresh basil leaves (Tulsi) and make them a paste. Use this basil paste as a face or body pack to cool down the body and eliminate heat bumps. If followed twice in a week, this natural treatment not only cures heat bumps and acne bumps, it also prevent them from leaving dark marks on your skin.
  • Lazy to treat your acne prone skin? Leave your worries. Add a bunch of crushed neem leaves and 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder to a bucket of water everynight night. Bath with this water next morning to see visible results on your skin. Neem and turmeric are two natural ingredients that improves skin and prevents acne and bacterial infections.

Summer Beauty Care Series - Part 1

Ah! The summer heat is in! Winter has almost gone and now it's the administration of "Mr.Sun" all over the earth. Most of us, especially women hate summer for several causes such as skin tanning, pigmentation, sweat and sunburns. In most of the Northern countries, people are crazy about summer and long for sun light to have a warm sun bath but what about here in India and other hot countries? We feel like being inside pressure cooker even though when we are inside home. Don't just get irritated because of this current weather! :P Mr.Sun will be here for more than 6 months and will be showing his full power on the months of March, April and May. Prepare yourself and your skin of course to face the harmful effects of sun. I guess we talked a lot bad about sun :P It has some goodness too, especially for the dry skinned people. You do not want to worry about getting that winter stretchy skin or chapped bleeding lips. Summer is kind enough not to strip off excess moisture from your skin but remember, instead of that, the UV rays is in form to harm!

From today, may be daily or often  we are going to discuss here about summer skincare tips and ideas for a beautiful skin and hair. This is the part 1 series and please head on to our space regularly for many more series and save your skin from Mr.Sun!
As this is the first part, let us make it easier for skincare beginners too. Haven't you taken care of your skin till now? Feeling hard to find about words like exfoliation, CTM routine and SPF? Leave your worries. We can begin this series with very simple ideas so that you can come along with us part by part and learn things about summer beauty care.

    Splash Water Everywhere
Everywhere doesn't mean your home or any place, it's just your skin. Skin is the largest organ of the body which protects our inner organs. So don't we at least do justice and protect our skin from the sun for saving our organs? Water is a thing of life! It cools down, it hydrates and of course it makes us alive. Whenever you get time, splash cold water on your skin and gently wipe off with a soft cotton towel. This will heal the minute burns and redness caused due to the sun rays. Small ice cubes if rubbed on your facial skin does wonders in summer season. It calms down the skin, controls and reduces open pores and also minimizes the acne bumps. So remember, twice, thrice or as many times a day splash cold water over your facial and body skin.

    Welcome Watery Fruits
You can see watermelons, cucumbers and other juicy fresh fruits everywhere now! When summer begins, these fruits fill up most of the markets. So visit your nearest market and pick some healthy and fresh fruits. Eat them everyday or juice them and drink, keep sure to add honey as the sweetener instead of the slow poison "Sugar". These fruit juices not only hydrates your body, they provide hydration and glow to your skin. Watery fruits just for your tummy? Not at all. You can pamper your skin with them actually. For example, make to slices of a juicy watermelon, a big slice and a small slice. The bigger one is for your stomach and make the smaller one work on your facial skin. Simply rub it over your facial skin, leave on for few minutes and wash off with cold water. Not only watermelon, fruits like cucumber, papaya and many other do wonders on calming and improving skin. For more benefits and chillness, keep the fruit slices on your refrigerator for minutes. Take them out and let your skin enjoy them! Juices can also be applied all over your facial skin. Following this fruit skin care and body care makes you a healthier as well as a younger glowing person! Radiant and soft skin is all yours.

    Say Yes to Diary Products
Milk, butter, yogurt and ghee? Welcome them to your daily summer skincare routine. Raw milk should be applied on your skin every morning before bath and every evening after reaching home to calm down and soften skin. This can be left for 5 minutes to work and washed off thoroughly with cold water. Milk is one of the best natural skin cleanser and sunburn curer, so don't say no to it. Dry foot occurs not only in winters, but in summers too. Wash them properly and massage with smooth cow butter every night before going to bed. Peacock feather like, sunburn free soft feet is all yours within a week! Yogurt is for calming skin and removing tan so apply it over your skin after sun exposure. Leave on for 15 minutes to work and wash off. This can be followed regularly to maintain your skin tan free and bright. So what about ghee? Last but not least, ghee is for your pinky lips. Lips suffer from harmful UV rays too! Calm them down and cure the burns with a ghee massage every evening after coming home. See how helpful diary products are! So say yes to fatty butter and ghee, only on your skin not on your diet in larger amounts.

For today, these are enough I guess! Follow these ideas and let us know how it works.
Let your skin glow and beat the sun, this summer! Keep visiting here for more parts on this summer beauty care series.

So buddies! How are you going to take care of your skin this summer??? We are waiting to hear now.

    My Views and Ratings

    The Packaging
This body lotion comes in a white plastic bottle with a sturdy green cap. The packaging is simple, but yet cute and I love it. Because of the firmness, it is travel friendly too. And an another advantage is that, this is not a use and throw bottle. I am planning to save these empty containers and fill my homemade creams :P Love the packaging overall.
    4.9/5

    Colour, Consistency & Texture
The lotion has a very creamy consistency, slightly runny, smooth and perfect for a gentle body lotion. To say an example, the texture is like that of melted vanilla ice cream :D The lotion quickly spreads onto my skin and gets absorbed. Fragrance is very mild and gentle and it has a herbal tint, still I expect some fruity or sweet smell in it (Greedy me, he he) :P No bad I find.
    4.5/5

    How it Works
As I said before, this is my HG lotion because it works perfectly on my oily skin in this humid weathers in Chennai. It is very hot and sweating here, so whenever I use this lotion on my skin I feels light and refreshed instead of being greasy or sticky. I agree that this lotion doesn't suit for dry skins anytime, but that cant be taken as a con at all as they didn't claim it. This is a normal skin body lotion and it does a decent job in summer for both normals and oilies. Dry skins should stay away because this won't help you and normal skins should also opt for some other nourishing ones in winters. Being a normal to oily skinned person, this just works great on me. My skin feels soft with regular usage and I use it allover my body everyday after bath. In hard winters, I needed to go for some other lotion or else apply this once in every 3 hours which ends up wasting my pocket money :P So, listen Himalaya nourishing body lotion, you are my very best friend in summers! Love you!
    4.5/5

    PROS
    1. Sturdy Packaging and hence travel friendly.
    2. Affordable and easily available everywhere.
    3. A fresh refreshing herbal fragrance, not so over powering at all.
    4. Spreads quickly onto my skin without leaving any greasiness.
    5. Contains natural ingredients like alovera, apricot etc which are the best skin friends.
    6. This would be a treat for oily skins in humid weathers.
    7. Non sticky and side effect free. A little amount covers vast area of the skin, hence lasts long.
    8. Skin becomes soft with regular usage.
    9. Re-usable sturdy container.
    CONS
    1. No a winter pick for normal skin types, but it leads others in summers.
    2. Contain parabens (Every other product do so nowadays)
My Recommendation: Oily and normal skin types can try this in summers, one of the best and natural body lotion! I highly recommend. Dry skins please stay away

Overall Rating: 4/5 (-1 for your winter weakness, not enough moisturizing for normal skin types)

Will I Repurchase?: I said it's in my HG list. Won't I???? This will be my all time summer pick until I find a better one.
