2011 Conclusion Challenge - Day Ten

Day 10: Anything you wish to say to end 2011/start 2012.

It's been an eventful year! Each year I always say 'I'm going to make this the best year ever!' but I never do. However this year I achieved a lot ; I graduated, I ended a relationship where I wasn't happy, I made the decision to move home instead of staying up north..there has been a lot of change. I hope 2012 brings me some great opportunities but I know that opportunities don't always just fall in your lap so I must remember to put myself out there and make it happen!

2011 Conclusion Challenge - Day Eight

Day 8: Things you hope for in 2012.

In 2012 I hope for a lot of things! I want to get a job in some form of journalism or something related to my degree - even if its just something very small or low down in a company so to speak I'd like to work somewhere that can be a starting point and that I can hopefully move up. I'd like to pass my driving test and get a car and I'd like to get my own flat. I'd also like to travel! And I wouldn't mind meeting a nice boy :)

Day 9: What are you looking forward to in 2012?

2011 Conclusion Challenge - Day Seven

Day 7: 10 things you want to say 10 people.

This is going to be tough!

1. I miss you. I wish I could be happy and believe that you're happy, but I know you're not and I know it's just a show because you don't want to be alone. Don't end up hurting yourself and others ; you know the right thing to do. You've burnt so many bridges down over the past year, don't make more enemies. Grow up and learn how to treat a woman right. Don't mistake my friendship for something else because it'll come back and bite you in the arse ; you can't get away with these things forever.
2. I can't believe how you're acting through all of this. You need to grow up and take responsibility for your actions ; you'll get nowhere in life blaming other people when you know you've done wrong.
3. I think it's time you got off your high horse and stopped looking down on me/talking about me. Everyone makes mistakes and I can own up to mine at least. But let's not forget that whilst you were being continually out of order, you also got involved with someone who wasn't entirely single and you were aware of their situation the whole time. There was no excuse for what you done and the way you treated the situation afterwards was just ridiculous. What goes around comes around I'm afraid and when it hits you you're going to be in for a surprise. I hope one day someone does to you what you've done to them.
4. Thank you for being patient and understanding about my job situation when coming back from uni! Not only have you encouraged me to aim higher but you've also never nagged when I've struggled.
5. Love you!
6. Chin up! Life has its ups and downs - for everyone - you're not alone. Nothing anyone can say or do will fix the situation, but try and be strong and take something from what has happened. Our biggest achievements aren't about what we do or don't do in times like this but how we pick ourselves back up afterwards.
7. Thank you so much for my birthday treat, I feel so lucky to have a person like you in my life. It's going to be so much fun!
8. I can't wait to spend Christmas with all of you and I hope you like my presents!
9. You can continue to try all you like but I will not be getting involved with you whilst you are in a relationship with someone else. We're very close and I hope this doesn't change, but don't expect me to give in and do what you want to happen because despite how I feel about you I still know the difference between right and wrong.
10. I think you should be more aware of what is going on right behind your back. Be a bit smarter about things and don't let people manipulate you into believing something that is a lie. Every story has two sides and there's no smoke without fire. Don't let yourself get walked over! Don't let other people get involved either, I know first hand how two-faced some people can be.

I didn't really like doing this, ha. It's come across really bitchy...!

2011 Conclusion Challenge - Day Six

Day 6: Any words of wisdom/advice for anyone?

So much! First of all, chin up! Everyone goes through bad patches and it's how we deal with them and pick ourselves back up afterwards which really matters. Try and be kind to everyone, you never know what they are dealing with, but also put your happiness first sometimes. Never, ever settle. Live each day as if its your last but dream as if you'll always live. Have ambition but be spontaneous as well - try and find the perfect balance in life. Every mistake has a lesson to learn behind it so make sure you embrace that lesson and learn from it! Smile! It's better to be absolutely ridiculous then to be normal. Have fun. You only get one shot at life, make it count!

2011 Conclusion Challenge - Day Five

I haven't had an adventure really unless you count the weekend away to York or my graduation. I'll tell you about my graduation ; my mum rang me really early in the morning saying they were about half an hour away (which was three hours earlier than they were supposed to be here). So I got up, jumped in the shower, got ready, finished packing and then waited eagerly downstairs. Then they were finally here, my mum, dad, sister and nan. I made the ex make everyone tea whilst my sister made a start on doing my makeup and hair. Then my brother and sister in law turned up so it was a bit hectic with so many of us! When we were ready my mum of course started worrying about being late so we headed straight to where the ceremony was held. Everyone else went off to check into the hotel where my family were staying and mum waited whilst I registered for the day and got my robes and all that. Mum immediately got teary eyed! Then my mum went off with my dad to the hotel whilst the ex waited with me in reception and I started getting really nervous. I saw all my uni friends and said hello then all my family turned up so we had some photos. My cloak thing kept falling off so nan stepped in and fastened it to my robes with pins and then it was time to go in! I was really scared! I said bye to everyone and went in with my friend Steph then back outside again (as it was held outside) and found that because my uni was ridiculous and processed my graduation stuff at the very last minute I was sat away from everyone else. So I watched everyone go up and get their degrees, some sports guy got a degree and gave a speech and then it was my classes/courses turn to go. I was petrified I was going to trip! Finally they called out my name and I heard all my friends and family cheering loudly.

I can't describe how proud I felt of myself for graduating. Uni was hard for me, I was so far away from home and my years at uni had a lot of ups and downs so it meant a lot that I'd managed to get through it all. When it was over we went inside where they had food and drinks for us and I was so happy ; it felt so right having everyone there even though me and my ex weren't together anymore. After some nibbles we went outside and took loads of photos.

Left to Right - My dad, my nan, my mum, me, the ex, my sister, my brother and my sister in law

Then we quickly went back to the house so I could get changed into an evening dress then made our way back to the hotel where we sat around waiting until it was time to go for food (as we had a table booked). Turns out we waited half hour longer then we had to as we thought my brother and Clare were  getting ready so we were waiting for them to let us know when they were ready but they were downstairs drinking in the bar waiting for us! So we went to the restaurant and had a generally really ace night, us 'younger ones' (me, my ex, my sister, my brother, Clare) got a bit tipsy on the cocktails! We had so much fun and had a right laugh. Then finally it was time to go home. And the next day we left and I've not been back since! An adventure indeed!
