REVIEW: The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Butter

Hellllloooooo everyone... It feels like a decade that I posted on ISLM (yup I do love a bit of exaggeration here and there :P) and it feels awesome to be back :) I plan to review TBS Spice Vanilla Body Butter and I know it has been reviewed like 27,836 times on the beauty blogosphere already but aren't you a tad bit curious about my take on it? ;)

Spiced Vanilla is a beautifully rich vanilla scented body butter that isn't too sweet. It smells more like a cinnamon doughnut than anything else ;) Its a perfect fragrance for the colder months though and because of the richness of its fragrance I cannot see myself using it in warmer weather... For summers I prefer fruity fragrances like Peach body butter, mango body butter and satsuma body butter... For winters I am loving Spiced Vanilla :)

Though the tub does not specify any skin type, this particular one is suiting my dry skin to the Tee. Just a layer and my skin feels all smooth and pampered. Its fragrance stays on for like really long and when I wore it to office for the first time, everyone of the guys actually turned when I passed them. I swear! I myself feel like I am enveloped in a veil of spicy vanilla the whole day...

Ingredients List
 Texture:
So creamy, so smooth
Ooohhss And Aaahhss!!!
1. Heavenly fragrance, not too sweet, not too jarring...
2. Texture is just so smooth and it feels great on dry skin!
3. Available in 50 ml as well 100 ml tubs.
4. Always available at any TBS outlets. It isn't LE.
5. In addition to a lot of oils and cocoa butter extracts, it contains sesame oil as well, which is really very good for one's skin.
6. I like the color of the tub, though in all fairness, all TBS containers look pretty on the dresser.

Ouches!!!
1. Like all TBS products, the price is a bit steep
2. They should mention skin type of the labels!

Price
It costs INR 515/- for 50 ml

Repurchase?
Definitely! As it is I am already on my 3rd tub!

Would I Recommend?
If you are a sucker for rich textures and fragrances and don't mind smelling like you are ready to be devoured, then go for it ;) This trust me isn't for the weak hearted, who like being in the shadows...

REVIEW: The Body Shop Peach Body Butter (For All Skin Types)

I never ever buy body butters and body lotions that say "For All Skin Types"... Nope! I know I have super dry skin and so I always stick to "For Dry Skin" but I had to had to give in and buy this "All Skin Types" Peach body butter only because it smell heavenly. Now let me tell you this... I generally love all fragrances from Body Shop but this one was different. It was so fresh, so real, so fruit-like! Wow! It actually smells of real peaches. I really really wonder how TBS manages to garner these fragrances into their products...

Body Butter wise, I think it would be perfect for people with normal skin... I really could have done with some more butter-y consistency that would be more moisturising for us dry-skinned beauties... My friend with normal skin totally fell for it... Consistency as well as fragrance wise :) The best part about the fragrance is that the smell stays for almost 6 hours! I really dig that about this body butter :)

Oooohhsss And Aaaahhhsss!!!
1. Heavenly Peach-y fragrance.
2. Perfect for Normal skin.
3. Comes in the trademark TBS body butter container that I kinda like :)
4. It's not one of those expensive TBS products.
5. The fragrance stays on for almost 6 hours!

Ouches!!!
None that I can think of except that it doesn't suit Dry Skin :(

Price
I don't remember the price exactly, but I think it costed me a INR 595/- :)

Repurchase?
No :( As much as I love the fragrance, I still think I'll stick to "For Dry Skin" type products :)

Would I Recommend?
If you have dry skin then I wouldn't recommend this particular body butter but I am sure that girls with normal skin will love it! So much so that this could even become your HG body butter. Though I have heard rumors about the Peach Body Butter being discontinued :(

9/10 - Normal Skin

Whipping Up A Storm: Body Lotions and Body Butters on the Face?

I know I will be a whipping up a storm when I say what I am going to say and well it is quite possible that I will have almost everyone against me but still let me say it :P
I often use a body lotion and in extreme cases body butters on my ----wait for it---- FACE!

Seriously I do... I have very very very dry skin... I know a lot of people wouldn't believe it cause many of my friends and people I know say that it doesn't look that way, but honest to God I have the driest skin God could have ever "blessed" anyone with :P And since eternity I have been using Body lotions on my face... I started out with Vaseline body lotion then graduated to Garnier's Body Cocoon and in Winters even use TBS Body butters on my face. Yup the TBS SA actually was scandalized and almost "scolded" me for doing so but then I am stubborn person! :P

There is only one "logical" reason that I could fathom as to why body lotions and butters shouldn't be used on the face and that is because body products could prove to be super oily for your face and could result in you breaking out like crazy but I guess when you have dry skin like me then that is the only respite you get :P You see none of the face moisturizers (Lakme, Neutrogena, Lotus, Biotique, TBS) have ever suited me excepting Kiehl's ultrafacial cream (well yes thats a cream) and so I have always had to resort to "body" products and well they have worked wonderfully for me :) My skin does look moisturised and not dry and so I am happy with the results :)

How do I or you know I or you have extremely dry skin?
1. I need a heavy moisturiser even after washing my face with plain water.
2. "Moisturising" soaps like Dove, Johnson's and Johnson's and Pears do me no good! They are pretty useless to me...
3. In winters if I do not use a body oil after a bath I start getting cuts on my body (read back, stomach, thighs and legs)

DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing body products for the face! Do what suits you best :P

MORAL I generally do not listen to people blindly where skin and hair care is concerned and I do not recommend anyone to do that. What I am trying to say here is that 40% of your decision should be what others recommend in order to give you a sense of direction in a sea of products available to us, 10% should be your gut feeling and 50% should be based on what suits you personally cause everyone of us is UNIQUE and no one will ever understand what suits you best more than you yourself :) So ladies go out and try out things! :D
