One week of a taupe shade on my nails and now am back to brights ;) But keeping in mind that it is F/W 2012, I got myself this deep shade of Peacock blue from Revlon...

NOTD: Bourjois 10 days Nail Enamel in Shade No 23

Aren't you bored of brights and neons and glitters already? I know I am... Since the past 2-3 seasons, the Nail trends have been repeating themselves, calling themselves different each time but actually being the same ol' same ol'... Hence imagine my excitement when I spotted this Taupey-greenish-grey shade at the Bourjois counter at Kunchal's in Delhi... I just had to have it! :P

It costs a freaking INR 380/-

But it looks so classy and DIFFERENT!

Now Vogue and Grazia have only been harping on how huge metallic nails are this season... Now I for one do like to look at glossy magazine pages strewn with metallic nail polish laden hands and nails but when it comes to my own manicures that I need to sport everyday, I generally prefer my brights and that too no metal. So how does one strike a balance between the trending nail fad and one's fav (and comfortable) manicure habit?

I kinda found a way in between :P and am quite happy with the result :D

Another Dotted design nail art; Seems like the blog is being flooded by nail art posts.

Another dotted design on my short nails. This is very very easy. You will need just one color of your choice and a transparent base/top coat. I have selected a maroon color shade for drawing the dots. The dots to be drawn in this design are very tiny. So, a tooth prick is a must.

Instructions:

Step 1:
Prepare your nails for holding the designed paint. After you have applied the transparent shiny clear color on your nails, wait until it dries completely.

Step 2:

Draw a line of dots on the tip of your nails. Be careful to draw tiny dots. Leave enough gaps between the dots.

Step 3:
After the first line of dots is dry, draw a second line of dots immediately after the first line. Now, the dot of the second line should lie in between the dots of the first line. (Refer the pic.)

Step 4:
After the second set of dots are dry, draw a cluster of 4 dots in the form of a diamond at the middle of the nail. Do not bother if you make a mess in drawing this cluster. Below the cluster of 4 dots, place another single tiny dot.

Done.

The design seems like something hanging from the tip of the nail. (Personal assumption).

You could also top the entire work with a coat of clear color. I usually avoid the application of top coat.

Simple & Elegant Dotted Nail Art: Photo Tutorial

Hi…. all ladies…..!!!!!!

I should greet all nail art lovers today. This is a very simple nail art. I have very short nail base. I have always envied ladies with long nails. It is a boon which I always wish to demand. Yet, I have somehow managed with my short stout nails for so many years. There is no much scope for lot of designs on short nails. Out of so many years of experience with short nails, I have found that short nails are comfortable with dotted designs. So, today's nail design will comprise of several colorful dots.

Let the pictures do the maximum explanation of this simple and elegant dotted nail design.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:

After preparing the nails for the painting, I applied base color on the nails. This is my all time favorite color.

Step 2:

Next, place two dark brown dots on the base color, first near the tip of the nail and second right below the first dot. Make sure the base is completely dry. The brown dots can be done with the brush that comes along with the nail enamel bottle.

Step 3:

Now, a very light shaded pink dots on the brown dots. The pink dots are to be smaller than the brown dots. So, I used a tooth pick to draw the tiny pink dots.

Step 4:

After the dots are dry, take a reddish brown nail color, again on the tooth prick tip. Draw 2 dots, one in between the dark brown dots, another after the second brown dots. (Hope, I am sounding fine. Well, the next pic should explain my words!!). After the whole dotted structure has dried perfectly, surround the entire structure with another most light colored skin color.

There goes the final structure of dots. Done. Optionally, you could top it with a coat of clear color.

REVIEW & NOTD: Lakme Fast & Fabulous Nail Color in Going Green

I have never ever done a review of a nail polish. Yup have posted a few NOTDs in the past but if you notice, never reviewed a nail polish... But then there is always a beginning right? ;)
I am not a nail paint person partially cause I do not have the patience to sit and wait for the paint to dry on my nails and partially because I somehow like my nails "au naturel" :P But this weekend I went with my bestie for shopping and while she was picking up a Lip Plumper and the Highlighter from Lakme Absolute, I got drawn towards this pretty green :)

I maybe one of the rare few in the Indian beauty blogosphere who is not head over heels over these nail colors. Do not get me wrong, I like them but they aren't really some uniquely awesome product. I still prefer Colorbar and Faces nail polishes over these...

Some Pros of this range are that it has some super gorgeous shades and that they do set in 40 seconds flat like claimed on the bottle... The packaging is very attractive and novel and the shades are really fun, flirty and gorgeous in this range :) Not only that I think this range is really very good when compared to the previous Lakme Nail Polishes...

Now coming to the cons, the packaging though pretty is very "cheap". The cap of the bottle is useless and of a very cheap plastic :( The shape of the cap doesn't help either... It makes it very difficult for me to "roll over" the side and apply the polish on the "other" side of the brush.. I hope you can get what I am trying to say ;) Secondly, the "one stroke brush" technology and "fast drying" technology is not new in the Indian market. Faces, Colorbar and Maybelline polishes all dry up within 30-40 seconds...

What ticks me off is that most of the cosmetic brands in India thought us to be "worth it" where good quality polishes were concerned but Lakme seemed to realise it last and has "finally" come out with fast drying range!

I am not a very nail polish person :) And yup I "simply" do not love nail polish that much :) This one's for you scoop of beauty. Thank you for mentioning me and making me feel important and thank you for making me realize that whatever I say or do is remembered by all even haters like you ;) No ya, this is not a hate post for you, its actually dedicated to you because of you I painted my toe nails PINK last night :)

You know people I am super lazy where applying nail paints is concerned but still there is nothing in this world that de-stresses me as much as painting my toe nails PINK :) Here they are...

The shade that I have used is Faces Pink Flamingo... I am love with Faces nail paints and particularly this pink :)

NOTD: Lakme True Color Nail Color in 250

I am on vacation but how much ever I tried staying away, Ihad to give in to my urge to update my blog :) Well yes people I miss you all and wanted to share with you guys this new shade of nail polish I am wearing right now...

I went to beauty centre today to check out and purchase some Lakme Absolute Color Crus Nail Colors but ended up buying the original Lakme True Color Nail Color in the shade "250"...

NOTD: StreetWear Color Rich Nail Enamel in Pink SPark

This is one product that I had never ever planned on buying and had been blissfully unaware of the range of shades it offered, but when my co-sister gifted me this I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the nail paint. It no doubt is a tiny bottle but the applicator brush is extremely easy to use and gives a precise and a perfect application. I generally do not wear sparkly and glittery nail paints but again this little bottle amazed me on how pretty my digits could look with a glitter shade on them :) Lastly, it gives great coverage and I am loving my nails in them :)

GLIMPSE & NOTD: Colorbar Nail Lacquer in Extrovert

There is nothing more cheery than bright hued nails and well what better way to celebrate the start of a weekend with some pretty and colorful nail lacquers :)
I am officially in love with Colorbar and simply adore their range of nail lacquers. This time I have gotten myself a shade called EXTROVERT, which is a very pretty plum-burgundy shade.

GLIMPSE & NOTD: Colorbar Nail Enamel in Earthern Rose

Have you ever felt like doing something totally opposite to what is expected of you or what you very predictably do? I don't mean anything drastic, but something harmless like switching from Tea to coffee for a day or maybe wearing a red lipstick rather than pink... Well I had this moment a couple of days back and decided to get myself a neautral/nude/earthern nail paint rather than the pinks, corals and reds that I am usually more partial towards and well I am loving it :D

Here's a sneak peek at the shade and how sumptuous it looks on my nails :)

As you see, it's a very pretty nud"ish" shade called Earthen Rose and makes my fingers (and toes) look soooooo delish! :D

Will be sporting it for a couple of days before I give my verdict on it... So stay tuned... This was just a glimpse of the coming attractions ;)

NOTD with Maybelline Colorama - Coral Chic

Hey guys... Today's NOTD is with the helpof the Colorama nail enamel i bought over the weekend.
The shade is called Coral Chic and it is a beautiful coral shade. It has these really tiny golden flakes, which are like almost negligible yet let their presence felt :)

It doesn't really have very good coverage but the shades in this range are just FABULOUS!!! :D
