REVIEW & SWATCHES: Colorbar I-Glide Pencils

I have been really lazy lately, so much so that I have been shelving writing a post about Colorbar's I-glide pencils, can you even imagine that? I-Glide pencils are like these highly respected pencils in the beauty blogosphere, so much so that no Indian beauty blog is complete without at least one post on these pencils, be it a review or even a swatch post. And I had the audacity to actually completely ignore posting about these pencils!!! LOL! But yesterday when my co-sister got me two more of these I-Glide pencils, I knew it was high time I wrote a post about these miracles.

Now if you have been regular on beauty blogs especially the Indian sites, you will have already known that Colorbar has come out with four new shades in these pencils and well don't we beauties just love options? The more the better isn't it? :)

So anyways, the I-Glide pencils that I now own are:

1. Silver Hue 001

2. Prunella 005

3. Flirty Turquoise 007 (new)

4. Coal Mine 009 (new)

There isn't much inroduction that these pencils need. They are super fabulous pencil eye liners that are smudge proof, very smooth and offer very good pigmentation. Anything that I say will be less :)

These pencils are essentially for the upper lashline and I would not recommend using them as a "kajal" on the waterline as they burn and cause irritation if it touches the inside of the eye, but they are perfectly safe for the lashline on the upper lids.

Oooohhss and Aaaahhhss!

1. Highly Pigmented

2. Smudge-proof and does not budge till you really don't want to wash it off with your make-up remover.

3. Does not cause any allergies or reactions.

4. Very creamy and glides on smoothly

5. It is water-proof so crying with these on isn't really an issue!

6. Even though it is in pencil form, it is not made out of wood (I hate wooden eye pencils!). It is made out of some kind of fibre, which doesn't spill gritts in the eyes and also sharpen smoothly.

7. Staying power is really high.

Ouches!

1. It gets blunt pretty fast and needs to be sharpened often, which leads to a lot of product wastage.

2. The price is on the higher side.

This is one pencil that is a must in every girl's vanity case as they are very practical pencils that come in a variety of jewelled shades!

Top Ten Tips to Lose Weight in 30 Days

If you want to reduce weight, but still want to keep your face fat, the only thing that can benefit you is WORKOUT. If you keep on starving yourself, you will probably lose your face fat first than losing your body weight. Today, I am gonna give you few effective home remedies to lose your weight without any side effects. A nurse practitioner can help you figure out the right weight loss strategy.

1. Minimize your calorie intake. Take not more than 1700 calories a day.

2. Stay away from full cream milk, diary products, flours, oily foods, junk food, mutton and beef. You can take chicken once in a week and EGG WHITES daily (They are good sources of protein) but you should totally AVOID EGG YOLKS if you want to lose weight. Egg yolks are full of cholesterol which is bad for weight loss.

3. Drink CORIANDER (leaves) Juice or soup twice daily, It can eliminate all the unwanted cholesterol from your body. This really works like a wonder.

4. Increase your water intake as much as you can. Water can flush out all the unwanted fat from your body. Water is a miracle liquid which can beautify your whole body.

HERE'S A TRICK

Drink 2 cups of water before every meal, thus you can reduce your calorie intake. Don't drink water as soon as you finish eating, drink after 15 minutes.

5. HORSE GRAM POWDER

This is what my aunt did to reduce her weight and she got great results. Fry horse gram in bare vessel (No oil). Powder it finely and store it in an air tight container. Every morning, in empty stomach eat two teaspoons of this powder followed by a glass of water. This will give you astonishing results fast.

6. Have your dinner 2 hours before going to bed. If you go to bed soon after you finish eating, your body might not able to burn the fat and It will be stored as cholesterol.

7. Go for a fast jogging 30 minutes everyday. This will eliminate excess fat in the form of sweat. It will also makes your skin glows as the toxins are removed. If you can't do this, you can do yoga at home. Do stretches everyday to shape your body and remove cholesterol from fatty areas of your body.

8. Climb stairs, never use lifts. Include fruits and vegetables to your diet. Eat oats every night. It is a good source of fiber which keeps your body fit and lean. Take more fibrous foods daily. Add two cups of salad before every meal, this will prevent you from eating more calories.

9. SAY GOODBYE TO SUGAR, USE JAGGERY INSTEAD. Sugar is a source of empty calories which makes you gain pounds. Add jaggery in coffee, tea and other stuffs for sweetness. JAGGERY IS A GOOD SOURCE OF IRON.

10.NEVER EVER SKIP YOUR BREAKFAST. THIS REALLY MAKES YOU GAIN WEIGHT.

Skipping breakfast slows down your metabolism and hence the process of burning extra fat gets slow. Replace your regular breakfast with SALADS, EGG WHITES and FRUIT JUICES.

MY HOMEMADE HAIR GEL

INGREDIENTS

• Gelatin - 1 teaspoon
• Aloevera gel - a little (Directly extracted from the plant or bought from the store)
• Vitamin E oil - 2 capsules (Extracted)

Here's how

• Heat one cup of water in a pot
• After it gets boiled, take it down from the stove and add gelatin, aloevera gel and Vitamin E oil.
• Stir well with a spoon until a smooth paste is formed.
• Store it in a dry and clean air tight container or old hair gel box and store it in refrigerator.
• Your homemade hair gel is ready to use :D

BENEFITS OF THIS HAIR GEL

• It contains no preservatives, thus it will not affect your hair at any cost.
• As it contains Vitamin E and Aloevera, It makes your hair soft and gives a shiny glow.
• It is very cheap to do in our home and is good for the health of our hair too.

MY VIEW ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Well.. I am using this soap for past 3 months (I replaced this one for Dove as it was SUMMER). I have no complaints about this product. It is simply great and made my complexion really better. It has a rich and unique aroma with pure sandal wood oil which is very good for the softness of your skin. Till now, I recommended many of my friends to use this soap and they said IT'S WONDERFUL :D :D. Read the pros and cons for more information about this soap.

PROS

• Wonderful aroma (Smell) which gives you a really relaxing and refreshing bath.
• Affordable. The rate is not too high for the worth of this product.
• With regular use it evens out the complexion, fades blemishes and makes skin visibly fair.
• The soap doesn't dries out the skin. It is best to use for any kind of skin. (Especially dry and normal). Oily skinned people should use this for body and opt for a good face wash for face.
• Best ever winter soap :) :)
• Lathers well with a creamy texture and rinses out easily.
• Skin feels fresh throughout the day. People near you can feel the Sandal aroma in you :) :D
• It contains pure sandalwood oil which makes skin really soft like a baby (It did for me).

Cure Acne Overnight With Neem

Cure acne overnight
Neem is an excellent home remedy which cures acne or pimples overnight. Every time I get an acne bump, I simply apply Neem powder paste to my acne before going to bed at night. It does really dries out the acne and make it almost disappear by the next morning. Neem is an easily available herb which can be found everywhere.

 

How to make Neem powder?
All you have to do is, collect some neem leaves, wash them and allow them to dry in sun till there are crisp. Finely powder it in mixer and store it in an air tight container. This powder is really a magical powder which can be used in many beauty recipes.

Cooling face pack with Neem

Mix a teaspoon of Neem powder with little fullers earth (Multani Mitti) and rose water to make a thick paste. Cleanse your face and apply this paste over your face and neck. Dip a cotton pad in rose water and place it over your eyelids to calm down your eyes. Wash this pack after 20 minutes and moisturize your skin.Regular usage of this packs prevents pimples and bacterial infection. It also helps in fading the dark spots and improving overall complexion of the skin.

3. Colorbar Blush in Plum Brown: This is my HG blush and is so flattering to the 
    Indian skin tone that it is a must have blush for everyone. Yes it could be a bit too 
    dark for people with skintones below NC20 though!   

    It is a finely milled blush, stays for long and does not contain nay shimmer/glitter.

4. Faces Cosmetics Kajal: This is like my most recent purchase and this is one kajal 
    purchase that I just do not regret. It has an intense color payoff, is buildable, smudges 
    very little and is waterproof. I have been personally using it since the past few days.

5. Faces Cosmetics Sparkle Dust in Shade 02 Gold: This is like my most favorite 
    golden eye shadow. I had bought it to do my wedding make-up and it has become an 
    essential part of my make-up case especially when I get ready for some wedding 
    functions or festivals. It has the right amount of sparkle, blends easily, does not fade 
    away and stays for a long time.

6. Faces Cosmetics Eye Shadow brushes: I have been using Faces shadow brushes 
   since a long time now and till date I have never had the opportunity to complain even 
   once. The bristles are soft, do not shed and do their work extremely well. Basically, 
   there are three favorite Faces eye-shadow brushes of mine but there were only two of 
   them available as of now :(

    I haven't yet reviewd these brushes, but I will review them for sure in a couple of days :)

7. Maybelline Express Finish Nail Polish in Pearly Pastel

    Ok, this is one product that I don't own but with the express finish and fasr drying 
    claim and a pretty candyfloss color how wrong can you actually get? :) The shade 
    Pearly Pastel is so pretty and so sheer that it would look beautiful on its own as well 
    as a top coat over a darker shade :) Maybe you could send in a review to 
    isimplylovemakeup ;)

8. Maybelline Colorsensational  Moisture Extreme Lipsticks in Chestnut 

    The Colorsensastion Moisture extreme lippies from Maybelline don't really need any 
    introduction cause they are those rare lippies that are creamy, moisturizing, highly 
    pigmented and have a pretty decent staying power. These lippies are a staple in 
    everyone's vanities and are "go-to" lipsticks for many :) I haven't yet reviewed my 
    collection of moisture extreme lipsticks but I will surely do one soon :)

9. Oriflame Clickit Eye Liner Duo in Brown and Black: The moment I came across 
    this concept, I was hooked. It is a dual ended stick, with black eye liner at one end 
    and a brown one on the other. The highlight of the product is the applicator brush, 
    which is thin and sturdy and makes making precise lines a breeze. The liquids are 
    smudge proof but not waterproof and have very intense pigmentation. I have not 

    reviewed this product on my blog.

10. Oriflame Clickit Lip Gloss/Stain Duo:  Red stain and Raspberry gloss  

     This again is in the dual ended stick form with a red lip stain on one end and a pink 
     Raspberry gloss on the other :) It's a very convenient combo and I especially love the 
     red stain. It is an orange based red that smells and tastes yummy sweet. The stain 
     stays on for quite sometime and I do plan on reviewing it

TOMATO FACIAL BLEACH AT HOME

Tomato is a wonderful fruit which we can use in many ways to enhance our skin's beauty. It contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A and skin cooling ingredients. It acts as a good facial bleach, dark spot remover, wrinkle and fine lines remover, tan remover and etc etc.. There are many skincare recipes with tomato which makes you glow all the time. Today I am gonna share with you all one of my favorite bleach recipe, TOMATO FACIAL BLEACH AT HOME. 

TOMATO FACIAL BLEACH AT HOME

• Mix Tomato juice, Orange peel powder and little rose water to form a paste.
• Cleanse your face with good face wash or soap and apply this paste all over your face and neck evenly. (This may cause a light tingling sensation, but this is just normal). After 15 minutes wash your face completely without any residue. Use water to wash.
• This recipe suits normal and oily skinned people. If you have DRY SKIN please don't forget to add 1 teaspoon of honey or milk cream with this bleach (To moisturize and nourish dry skin)

RESULTS : If this bleach is done once or twice in a week, you can see amazing results from the first use itself. IT IMPROVES THE COMPLEXION VERY WELL and REMOVES WRINKLES TO AN EXTENT. This works very better than other chemical bleaches. Everyone should try this to get blemish free, spot free, clean and clear radiant skin which glitters like a diamond and soft like silk. I have tried this and suggest everyone to try. GOOD LUCK FRIENDS :)

EOTD & TUTORIAL: Yellow Brown Smoky Eyes Look

I don't know if it happens to you guys but it sure does to me. What? LOL... The time when I get used to a particular thing and I just cannot let go of it :) Well yes it happens to the best of us but I guess it happens to me a tad bit more than most of you can even imagine! Why does this happen to me I cannot fathom but then yes you will now say that I am blabbering away to glory :P ha ha! So before I get carried away a bit more, let me tell you guys that what I am talking about is the fact that I get stuck not only to particular products but also to specific EOTDs and LOTDs... Yes! I am a habitual EOTD repeater in real life! Ha! There I said it! :D

So anyways, today I am posting a tutorial on the summery smoky look that I am nowadays sporting with anything and everything :) It's a very pretty and versatile (you bet!) EOTD using golden yellow and brown and well it just makes my eyes look so bright and full of life :) So here goes...

But first here's a sneak peak at my EOTD :) Tell me guys how much you like it :)

Yellow Brown Smoky Eyes

STEPS

1. Primed lids with Faces Eye-shadow Base and then buffed with some loose 

    powder/compact.

2. Taking a bit of yellow eye shadow from my Faces Brilliants Palette using a flat fluffy 

    eye shadow brush again from Faces, I applied the shadow on my eye lids in a 

    "pat-pat" motion.

3. Next using my Faces Blending Brush number 106, I picked up some Colorbar eye 

    shadow called Spicy Brown, which is a warm brown shade and applied it on my 

    crease, blending the yellow and brown shadows in a to and fro motion from the inner    

    corner of the eye to the outer.

4. Taking a highlighter shade like MAC Nylon, I applied it on my brow bone in order to 

    bring focus to my eyes.

5. Now, I lined my eyes with Maybelline's Gel Liner (waterline+upper lashline) and 

    finished off with some mascara. I have used Maxfactor's False Lash Effect Mascara 

    here.

6. This look can generally be paired with either a nude lippy or a red lippy and 

    sometimes even a coral lippy :)

7. On my cheeks, I have used NYX cream blush in Golden on the cheekbone and 

    Colorbar powder blush in Plum Brown on the hollows of my cheeks.

This Month's Top TV

September is one of my favourite times of the year TV wise. It's just starting to get cold, so it means a lot of those cosy nights on the sofa underneath a blanket with a cup of tea - with great TV of course. And September normally means some of the best shows returning on our screens after a summer break. Here is my top pick of all the returning shows this month!

Gossip Girl

returns 26th September with season 5

The 5th season of Gossip Girl says goodbye to the characters of Eric, Jenny and Vanessa (thank god, she really annoyed me!) and instead welcomes some new characters, including a role by Elizabeth Hurley! This season focuses at first on Blair finding really how stressful it can be planning a royal wedding, Chuck and Nate visiting Serena, Dan suffering the consequences of writing about his closest friends and the return of cousin Charlie. After that, who knows!

The Vampire Diaries

returned 15th September with season 3

The sexy vampires are back with a bit of role reversal this season! Normally Damon is portrayed as the bad brother but this season sees Stefan taking his place and going on a rampage with Klaus, where instead Damon is left to pick up the pieces with Elena. Which, of course, we hope will ultimately lead to the two becoming much closer.

How I Met Your Mother

returned 19th September with season 7

Lily and Marshall are expecting a baby, Robin is still in love with Barney and Barney is trying to win back Nora in season 7. And Ted? Well, Ted is, as always, searching for the one he's meant to be with, despite admitting to losing faith at first. We also have a surprise in that The Slutty Pumpkin finally returns and the mystery is solved with Katie Holmes guest starring in the role.

American Dad

It's not quite the same as the other shows mentioned in this post but I couldn't leave it out! This hilarious show returns with storylines such as Roger traveling to the Middle East to support the troops but getting capture by an alien hunter, Stan getting a curse that makes him age backwards and Hayley adopting a baby who is an evil incarnate.

Even more bad then TOWIE, this slightly more posher version sees Ollie in a new relationship with Chloe, Cheska and Binky feeling that they are in the middle of Ollie and Gabriella, Spencer wants to become friends with benefits with an old flame called Louise (not me!) and Hugo and Millie's relationship beings to deteriorate. Oh, and I think Caggie has finally gotten rid of that denim shirt.

I bought this face wash 3 days ago and using it twice a day. It is colorless and looks like a gel with a good smell. My opinion is that this is the best ever face wash for oily skinned people. They can surely use this face wash without any hesitation. It cleanses the skin well and controls oil secretion. My face doesn't feel oily at all even after 2 hours of washing.

1. Very best to use in oily skin, washes out excess oil and keeps your skin fresh.
2. It smells better and a little drop is enough to wash the face and neck. It lathers well and rinses out completely.
3. The best summer time face wash which we can carry in our handbag everywhere, It is easy to use as It is available even in 20 Rs small pack
4. Affordable for good worth ( A gift for oily skinned people)


CONS
1. It is not good to use if u have extremely dry or sensitive skin.It may lead to breaking of skin. Hence,you should use a hydrating face wash like PONDS DAILY FACE WASH. It consists of Vitamin E and glycerin and worked well for me. To read a review about this face wash, click HERE
2. For normal skin, usage in summer is better, but we should opt for another moisturizing face wash in winter as this one removes all the moisture from the skin.


Overall, Its a great product for oily skinned people, Guys who roam often in sun can carry this along with them daily :D It is very handy and perfect to use. I am in love with this product after I started using this. It really prevents pimples and make skin clean and clear as it claims.

My Rating : 4.5/5 (Sorry I wouldn't have reduced .5, that's for the tight feeling in dry skins :( ) Overall it is a great product :) I'll use it for sure in summers.

Micropigs

To be fair, despite being 'proper micropig breeders', I don't think these are actually micro pigs. But I'm trying to talk my mum into getting me one for my birthday, so me and my sister went to have a look at some today as they were at a local garden centre. How bloody cute are they?!

Lovely pub!

My sister also treated us to dinner for my Mum's birthday today and we had such a lovely time. The pub was gorgeous, the service was great and the food was absolutely delicious! It was all 'a la carte' too and somehow we managed a starters, main AND dessert!
