I am contemplating on writing a blog of my own. lol...
This is just for the love of make up :) and I love writing.....even i dont have any commercial interests from it.
Can you please give me some tips and some insights?? you being a matured blogger might have something to offer to a novice like me.....
First off Tanmayee let me congratulate you on this brilliant decision of yours to start blogging and be a part of the wondrous beauty blog-o-sphere as a blogger :) The very fact that your decision and interest in beauty blogging stems from your love for makeup proves that you have got your foundation right :) And then to top it off you say that you have no commercial interests from it shows that you take it as a hobby and so I am sure you'll enjoy every bit of being a beauty blogger :) It is such a glorious hobby :)
There aren't many tips that I could give except for the following very obvious ones:
1. Try to make your blog unique in your own way so that it stands out from the bevy of thousands of beauty blogs around the world :)
2. Do not get into unhealthy competition to the extent you seem mean and rude to others :P Since its a hobby for you it wont be very difficult :)
3. Do not be fake at all. It breeds mistrust amongst your readers :)
4. Try to update your blog at least 4 times in a week. The higher the frequency of post updation the better.
5. Try keeping your blog personal rather than making it seem it like a professional website for beauty related queries.
6. Your blog must have very good quality photographs. Bad pictures just make a post and hence blog dull and not interesting :(
7. Maintaining a blog is hard work. After the initial novelty dies down, you reach a plateau where your creative skills freeze, do not give up and keep going. Once you overcome it then there is no stopping you :)
8. One very main important point you need to keep in mind is the quality and quantity of followers that you have. Nope the number of followers is not important, the quality of your followers is. Take care of your followers :) Reply to every comment honestly and sincerely :)
