I have some very exciting news! After contacting the organisers of the event, I have been added to the press list surrounding one of my towns biggest events ever, taking place this July! The event is to coincide with the fact that Luton is currently bidding to become a city, and also that in July the Olympic Flame will be passing through Luton. So in July, the town will be hosting a weekend long carnival which will help promote these factors. Over the weekend we will have both The Wanted and Olly Murs performing! This is a massive thing for Luton and I think it will really put us on the map.
Because I have been added to the press list, I will now get exclusive updates and invites surrounding the run up to the event and therefore I will be blogging about everything that is going on. Although I understand that some of you may think that this will be out of place on my blog, you may have noticed that over the past few months I have been taking this blog into the direction of a lifestyle blog, rather then a strictly beauty/fashion one. I am therefore very pleased to be blogging about something that effects me directly. I will also be trying to put a different spin on things when it comes to blogging, such as writing about fashion at the festival or reviewing the many different arists that will be performing.
I have created another section on the blog strictly for updates to do with 'Love Luton 2012' and I'm currently in the process of deciding how I will go about with the updates (aka keeping them to one standalone page, directing all posts to only appear on that page or just blogging normally). In the meantime you can view more information about the event here, or again visit the page labelled 'Love Luton 2012' beneath the blog banner, where I have done an introduction about what will be happening over the weekend.
I am so excited to be involved with something so big, for a long time now I've been considering blogging about something more local and personal to me and now I will get the opportunity to. The organisers are currently in the process of arranging press passes for the festival itself which I have been told may include access to the artists and the concerts, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed at the idea of meeting both The Wanted and Olly Murs!
