I wanted something quite simple and although I longed to wear something more feminine like a skirt, I knew it just wouldn't work! So I settled on this simple top and these studded shorts from Primark - I really love the detail on them, the studs and the zips really give them that extra bit of an edge making them perfect for a rock gig. I think because they are quite short as well they come across as that little bit more flirty/girly. I teamed these with just plan black pumps.
In the day I wore my pastel blue skinny fit jeans, which you would have seen in the post about the gig anyway.
The accessories were my favourite part of the look (other than my shorts) because the clothes were so simple. I knew with the right accessories I could be a bit more creative and look a bit more edgy and 'rocky' so to speak. I wore my spiked bracelet from Stella & Dot and this beautiful bracelet I picked up from Republic a few weeks ago. It hangs down so you can see in the photo where it's mixed with the other Stella & Dot bracelet and it's a nice edgy combination of crosses, chains and studs.
I also wore this skull necklace and skull ring. I've had this skull necklace for years and it's always been a favourite of mine. I don't even remember where I got it from but I'm pretty sure it was a gift from my brother or sister. It's edgy but cute as well.
For my make-up I again didn't want to go too over the top as I knew I'd be getting hot and bothered at the gig. However I couldn't resist piling on the eyeliner and going for the smokey eyed look with some fake eyelashes too. I relied on my favourite lipstick as it helps me stand out a bit without being too over the top. I didn't really manage to get a decent photo of my make-up close up but it looked good, I can tell you that! Warning, major duck face photo below (I didn't have time to take any proper pictures, this was just instagramed). I managed to get ONE photo of my eye make up (how awesome do my eyes look?!) but couldn't get a decent one with my eyes closed so I'm afraid you can't really see the blending up close.
Overall I was pretty pleased with the whole look - I've had some disastrous looks over the years when I've tried so hard to look edgy and rock chick at a gig and I've just ended up looking like an idiot! The shorts were definitely a good call because I did get hot and sweaty in the gig so I knew I'd made the right choice. As always I did little to my hair as I knew it would only get messy again later. My favourite part of the whole look would either be the shorts or the accessories, most especially the bracelets!

What do you think of my look? What would your dream gig outfit consist of?
No, my look didn't make me stand out and make the lead singer fall head over heels in love with me (yet) but he did give me a kiss and I seemed to have a bit of an effect on the lead singer of the support band, so all in all I think the outfit did well ;)
