Improve Skin Complexion in 30 days at Home

A proper skin care regime is needed to achieve bright healthy complexion and prevent it from pollution, dirt and other skin enemies. Good moisturizers with SPF (Sun protection factor) would help us in developing and preventing the complexion and hence moisturizing is compulsory for all skin types. Oily skin needs moisturizers too. Some people needs a quick skin fix before a party, or a wedding to look bright and beautiful. It's not necessary to go for costly skin care products and cosmetics to achieve brighter skin. We can even brighten our skin with natural things available in our kitchen to enhance the skin color and look beautiful. In this post, I am going to give you step by step instructions to improve your complexion to an extent within 30 days. Follow the below skin care regime and become a skin beauty! :)
I am not going to give you loads to work this time. A simple natural exfoliating fairness facial scrub and a nourishing fairness mask is going to be your routine for these 30 days. The exfoliating scrub should be followed thrice a week for normal and oily skins and if your skin is dry, you are going to do it once twice because it might strip of the moisture from your skin leaving it more drier. Hey wait! Don't escape dry skin girls and guys! :D Only the exfoliating scrub is twice, but you surely need to follow the nourishing mask everyday or in alternate days. This is to nourish your skin and remove the dullness which is caused by dryness.
With the above procedures I would also mention some skin care and diet tips to follow, to get better results on your skin. First, I'll give the recipes of the exfoliating scrub and nourishing face mask.

Exfoliating Fairness Facial Scrub
Ingredients
  • Orange Peel Powder - Two teaspoons
  • Rose water - Required amount
  • Dry skinned people keep in mind : Rose water is for oily skinned girls and guys, if you have normal to dry or extremely dry skin, I suggest you to add raw creamy milk instead of rose water. Additionally, you can also add milk cream and honey to this scrub (to prevent a stretchy feel and dryness)
How to Use
  • Wash your face with a good face wash or soap depending on your skin type.
  • Mix the orange peel powder with rose water (Oily skins), or milk (As I said for dry skins) and blend well to make a paste. The paste wouldn't be fine and it can't act as a exfoliate if it is fine, so don't worry.
  • Apply this paste on the surface of your face and neck evenly. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Let the ingredients work well on your skin to lighten it, just relax. You can place 2 cucumber slices or cold water dipped cotton pads above your eyes for a refreshment in this mean time.
  • Now comes the important step, cleanse your hands and make your face wet by dipping your fingers in water and tapping. Now gently scrub your face and neck with an upward circular motion for about 10 minutes with your finger tips.
  • After scrubbing, wash off with cold and clean water. Pat dry and moisturize, a heavy creamy moisturizer for dry skins and a light one for oily skins.
Results and Benefits
Orange has lots of antioxidants and citrus properties which are very essential for one's skin. It not only naturally bleaches your skin, it also acts as a wrinkle remover, spots and tan remover and skin lightener. So, following this above scrub regularly bleaches your skin in a natural way, removing dead cells, tan, giving a natural radiant glow which even skin lightening serums cannot give. Orange peel powder with rose water scrub removes excess oil while the same peel powder with the milk and honey mixture prevents skin from drying. So, the benefits and glow is same from the both scrubs, just the ingredients differs a bit as per your skin type. This scrub is recommend for brides also as it would make them look glowing and beautiful in their wedding day :) I recommend every girl or guy who craves for bright complexion to follow this scrub and get faster results.

Nourishing Fairness Mask
Ingredients
  • Almonds - 5
  • Oatmeal - 2 teaspoons
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk cream - required
  • Rose water - required
  • Oily skinned people keep in mind: This mask contains moisturizing ingredients which suits only dry skins well, so it is better to avoid milk cream and use lime juice instead to prevent excess oil secretion.

How to Use
  • Soak almonds overnight in milk or water. Peel them and paste them in the morning.
  • Mix this almond paste with oatmeal, honey, milk cream and rose water and blend well to form a smooth creamy face mask.
  • Cleanse your face and apply this pack covering face and neck, avoiding the areas around eyes.
  • Allow the mask to dry for 15 to 20 minutes and wash off with plenty of clean water. Moisturize!

Results and Benefits
Almonds makes skin smooth, soft and radiant while the other ingredients moisturizes the skin and provide required nourishment to the skin. Honey is also a natural skin lightener. This pack effectively cures acne spots, blemishes, tan and clogged pores. You can use this mask on the very same day when the previously mentioned scrub is performed, to nourish and calm down the skin and to retain it's natural oils. Dry skinned people are suggested to follow this mask once in two days or even everyday to achieve good results in these 30 days of skin regime :) Oily guys and girls, twice a week is enough. :)

Other tips: Drink plenty of water and use a high SPF sunscreen in these 30 days to prevent the fairness you gained or else the results will be lost. A good 8 hours sleep maintaining your skin clean these days is also very important for good results.

Hope you liked the skin regime package. Drop your comments for doubts :D I am here to help!

DIY Butter Care Facial Treatment for Dry Skin

Butter Care Facial Treatment for Dry Skin (Do it Yourself)

by Chand

How much do you care for your skin?? All color cosmetics, concealers, enhancers; all these will suit you only when the skin is healthy and happy.  The more experimental you are with your make up, the more you need towards the happy being of your skin. I hope this fact is agreeable. :)

When it is winter, skin demands more and more attention. Slightest neglecting will make you pay for it. Seems like I am paying for neglecting the winter.  I was not very strict in my skin routine this winter, it has taken so many tolls, that my skin is breaking and there are red rashes of skin breaking. And it hurts too. :(

So, from past one week I am devoted very much to my skin. I have introduced the butter-care facial routine for my dry skin. I use freshly churned out home made butter for this routine. (I hope this is a well known practice in all Indian homes, churning the curds along with the skimmed milk cream brings out the yummy deliciously utterly-butterly butter. Excuse me for too much of rhymes. :))

Butter massage for dry skin:

DIY Butter Care Facial Treatment for Dry Skin

Butter is the creamiest thing that is obtained as a product from milk. It is a rich moisturizer when used on skin. It forms a good massage cream helping the dry skin a lot. The dry broken skin gets soothed when massaged with butter for about 5 minutes or so.

There is lot of difference in the stored butter and freshly churned butter. The stored butter is of course good for skin, but before storing it is washed well to remove traces of butter milk. Thus the stored butter is only a good moisturizer.

Now if you are given a moisturizer along with the toner in the same product, wouldn’t you prefer the added bonus!! Same is the freshly churned butter. The traces of butter-milk present when you use the butter that is just churned out, is the perfect toner for the skin along with the heavy moisturizer.

Thus massaging my face with butter and little butter-milk is giving a lot of moisturizing to my dry skin.

Butter and sugar scrub for dry skin:

DIY Butter Care Facial Treatment for Dry Skin

Winter leaves lot of dry skin flakes making the skin look dead. This has to be removed some how. So, I thought of using a sugar scrub. But sugar again needs a rich cream for scrubbing the dry skin. Else sugar alone will do more harm to the dry skin.

So, add a little sugar to some butter and leave it for sometime. Let the sugar dissolve for a while (not completely) so that the sugar does not form a harsh scrub particle. Now, we have a mild scrub in a rich cream base.

Do some scrubbing on the face for removing the dead skin from the face and neck.

Wiping with warm water:

I am not using a steamer for this facial treatment; since my skin is gone heavily dry. So, alternatively, I use a cotton cloth dipped in warm water to wipe my face. The greasiness of the butter may not go off completely with just wiping, but the skin will drink off all of it in some time. I do not mind if there is some oiliness left behind on my face the day I do butter facial.

Curd as face pack:

DIY Butter Care Facial Treatment for Dry Skin

There is some amount of sour if you observe the hard creamy curd. I love that sour smell. When a spoon full of curd is applied on the face and allowed to dry, it forms a whitish moisturizing face pack.

This is a much needed face pack for my skin. I do not mix anything else to the curd, just plain curd, one table spoon and apply them all to the face. It forms a thick creamy texture initially on the face. It take about 15 minutes to dry after which I wash it off.

This entire procedure is helping my skin so much that it feels like my skin is winning over this cold season.

Winter Fairness Face Packs for All Skin Types

Winter Fairness Face Packs for All Skin Types - Do it Yourself

Winter is finally in and most of us struggle everyday to prevent dryness on the surface of our skin. No matter what your skin type is, this hard winter can suck all the moisturize and leave your skin dry, dull and damaged if treated the improper way.  Being a normal-oily skinned person, I myself find it hard many times to prevent skin dryness in winter. Though I am on the safer side being an oily skin typed person, the chillness in the air takes away all the moisture from my skin and the results are.. dry and dull skin!
Oh my! then how would dry skinned people face winter? Though they overcome winter, if not followed the proper skin moisturizing regime, everything left would be wrinkles, fine lines and patchy dull skin at the end of winter. So how can we put an end to dark skin and other skin issues in winter? All of them are mainly caused due to the winter dryness; hence few moisturizing face packs might help. Today, we are going to check few fairness face pack recipes that can be made at home for all skin types. Along with the moisturizing ingredients, we are adding some 'glow' ingredients to the packs for that bright results! Let your skin glow radiantly this winter. Check the fairness recipes below.

Face Packs

  • Papaya pulp mashed along with tomato pulp also serves as a brightening fairness face pack for normal skin types. Just take them in equal amounts and grind together until smooth.

  • Aloevera gel can be combined with fresh orange juice to form a quick face pack that lightens skin with regular usage. Apply it on your skin and leave on for 20 minutes before washing. Winter Fairness Face Packs for Dry Skin:

  • Take two teaspoons of milk cream in a small bowl. Put it two pinches of saffron strands and 1/2 teaspoon of red sandalwood powder (Raktha Chandan). Blend all these ingredients together to make a milkish red smooth paste. After cleansing your facial skin, smooth this over and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash away with cold clean water and pat dry. However dry your skin might be, this face pack usage will leave your skin soft, fresh and moisturized in minutes. Daily usage results in baby soft fair skin within 8 weeks. This face pack is very much suitable for brides.
  • A combination of olive oil, lemon juice and rose water helps lightening the skin, without leaving it dry. Mix everything together and apply over your face and neck evenly. Leave on for 20 minutes before washing off. Olive oil is also found to be effective on clearing our acne scars.
  • Take an egg yolk in a small bowl. Put in one teaspoon of chickpea powder, 1/2 teaspoon of oatmeal and finally, 2-3 drops of sweet almond oil. This protein rich egg fairness face pack nourishes your face and keeps dryness at bay. Results? Fair glowing skin without any winter dullness.

How to Make DIY Skin Hydrating Face Pack? [Photo Tutorial]

Guest Post by Gowmi

Hi Sweets,
As per now, I am very obsessed with the weather over South India (Tamil nadu). They call it winter season?? Nope! It’s still summer in here. Due to the random change in the weather conditions, our skin gets not only dry but it losing the hydration completely. I have combinational to normal skin type, so my T- zone areas (due to rapid change in weather) look like cement concrete (dry), elsewhere skin is normal. I wondered, I don’t how I suppose to hydrate my skin? I was tried over search engines by looking over the solution for uprooting skin hydration. Hence, I came across the uses of banana with honey. It was quiet satisfying. Yet need to improvise! So again I browsed and came to know about the wonders of cucumber and sandalwood.
They all work as smoothing agent, for soothing and skin hydration. This is what Is looking for! So I made them as pack and apply as hydration face pack twice a week. Now it’s all hydrated. So, let me introduce my hydration face pack here in this tutorial.

DIY Skin Hydrating Face Pack:

Ingredients you will need:

  • Smashed cucumber (You can smash in mixer and store in air tight container in refrigerator for later use)
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • 1 banana (2-3 pieces will be needed for the entire face)
  • 1 spoonful of sandalwood powder (if you have red sandalwood powder then you can use it instead of sandalwood powder too)

Tip: Women who have acne prone skin can reduce the amount of cucumber and sandalwood powder for this pack. Because, both are highly cooling agents, so they may enhance acne sometimes. Don’t add fuller’s earth to this pack, it may completely alter the pack.

Method of Preparation:

Step 1: Add smashed cucumber and sandalwood powder to a bowl.

Step2: Add spoonful of honey to same bowl and mix well.

Step 3: Add 2-3 banana pieces to mixture prepared above.

Step 4: Mix every tthing well togther with the fork without lumps.

That's it. Now, our DIY hydration face pack is ready to use!.

Tip: Use a fork to smash banana with mixture. Don’t use finger as it may get clumsy.

How to Use?:

Clean your face with cleanser and pat dry. Now apply the hydration pack on face, leave 20-15 minutes and wash with luke warm or tap water. Don’t leave pack to over dry on your skin then the washing process goes little bit difficult. For starters it may feel little tingling due to the banana usage in pack. Also don’t add water to the pack. While applying you may feel greasy but you should wait 15 minutes to see some wonders on your skin. After this pack skin feels hydrated and soothing.

Tidbit: Use this pack thrice or twice a week. It removes dullness and excess sebum on surface of skin and leaves hydrated.

So girlies, did you like my tutorial on DIY Skin Hydrating Face Pack? Do share your feedback below!

Frizzy Hair, Dry Skin & Sudden Weight Gain [Reader Query]

    Pearly asks..

My hair is frizzy and a little dry. I really want it to be smooth and soft. My scalp is clean and healthy. The only problem is my hair which was was once very thick and beautiful but now lost its lustre. Also I've gained a lot of weight these months. I need to loose my weight up to 15 kg by the end of this month. I've got an elliptical machine with me but i also wanna have a healthy body and i wanna reduce without having mark. My skin is dry and I've become tanned. I wanna maintain the lustre of my skin and wanna have a soft one and of course an even toned skin. Please suggest some tips that would make by skin healthy and fair in a month. Please tell me suggestions for my problems which I can do for a month so that I can schedule time and work them out. Thank you so much in advance.

    MABH Replies:

    For lifeless frizzy hair:
First of all, you need to moisturize your hair and nourish your scalp regularly in order to get back the lustre. Make sure to wash your hair every other day if you sweat a lot and work in pollution. Use a mild shampoo to wash your hair and always use a good hair oil to massage your scalp and the tips of your hair. You can either make your own hair massage hair oil at home. Check a natural homemade hair massage hair oil recipe here. This is completely natural and works fabulous on bringing back the lustre of your hair. If you have no time to prepare one, use Parachute Advanced Ayurvedic Hair Oil. It works great on any hair type to control hair fall and nourish hair roots. All you need to do is heat some oil and massage your hair and scalp with the heated warm oil one hour before your hair wash. This can be done twice to thrice a week for maximum benefits.
If these processes don't work even after a month of usage, it might be some heath issue causing your hair thinning and lifeless hair. Consult with your physician immediately to prevent further hair loss.

[Using this cream instead of your store bought shampoos works like a wonder to bring back your shiny, beautiful and lustrous hair]

    Weight Gain Problem

It is actually not safe to follow any home treatments for weight loss without consulting your physician so please avoid that thought. You can follow some natural ideas to keep weight in control. Mild exercises and low calorie intake can help you but you shouldn't ever starve yourself. Include fresh fruits, veggies and greens in your daily diet. Drink lemon juice every morning in empty stomach, this not only helps keeping weight in control but it also helps clearing out your skin tone. Cut fat items, junk foods from your eating routine and jump to fruits and veg salads. Sometimes, genetics may be related with sudden weight gain, you need to talk to your physician for this. Consult with your physician and follow what he/she says, including with daily exercise and fruit intake.

[You can get natural home remedies here, do check]

    Dry Skin & Fairness Remedy

Dry skin is caused due to extreme moisture loss. This happens in winters a lot. Make sure to moisturize your skin after every wash and before going to bed at night. If your body skin is rough and dry, a rich creamy body butter or body lotion is a must. Try massaging facial skin with milk cream every morning followed by a gentle face wash, this process nourishes dry facial skin with the milk nutrients to make it soft and supple. Heated olive oil massage is also very beneficial to achieve soft, supple skin.

Vedic Line Plus Exfo 10 Avocado Face Scrub Review

Facial scrubs are my all time favorites. I don't even need  a pack or a massage cream, I always have chosen some creamy scrubs and that's it. It cleanses out my skin, exfoliates and removes dead cells and nourishes if it has moisturizing ingredients. I personally use facial scrubs once or twice in 10 days and this scrub is a new come in my skincare product case. This Vedic Line Plus Exfo 10 Avocado Face Scrub was sent by the brand along with the newly launched Vedic Line Blemish Balm Cream which I previously reviewed . Avocado ingredient [No, I haven't ever tasted avocados so don't ask me about the fragrance part, I am no expert in it. But for a pre-note, this scrub smells refreshing] is something that attracted me in this scrub and I am using this for past 20 days. Let us move on to the detailed review.

Vedic Line Plus Exfo 10 Avocado Face Scrub

    Product Description:
Gentle on skin, removes unhealthy cells & purifies
Formulated with fine scrub grains, avocado oil, amino fruits & glycolic acid to polish and freshen. So absorption of nutrients becomes convenient.

    Price and Quantity:
    Rs. 175 for 75 ml

    Usage directions:
Gently massage in circular motion on wet skin for 1 to 2 minutes. Clean it nicely & apply cream or moisturizer.

    Key Ingredient(s):
    Avocado

    Experience with this Product:

This facial scrub comes in a simple and attractive pink coloured plastic tube with a flip type cap. The nozzle whole is small and dispenses the product out in control. Due to the sturdiness of the cap, this product becomes travel friendly for usage.

This scrub is very thick, creamy and rich in texture. It contains small light brown scrubbing granules in it for the exfoliation part. The fragrance can be said as floral, somewhat fruity and refreshing [uhh.. I haven't tasted or smelt avocados so forgive me about this fragrance explanation part], even sensitive noses are not going to say 'nay' for it.

    Swatch:

This grainy creamy scrub spreads onto the facial skin very well, especially when it is wet. I use my finger tips to gently scrub my facial skin and the exfoliation is just right! Neither too hard nor too soft for a scrub, it does the scrubbing part very well on my normal skin. Sensitive skin types might surely find this scrub a bit harsh on their facial skin so make your 'scrubbing' as gentle as possible to avoid scratches. I personally prefer my scrub to exfoliate my skin well and this does justice to it. Not just for an attractive look, the granules really work. If you have very much sensitive skin type, use this as your body scrub and it would work very well on body skin too. The scrubbing effect totally depends on how much pressure you give. Check in the below picture how the granules spread smoothly with the help of its creamy base.

After scrubbing for 1-2 minutes, I wash off my face with fresh cold water and the scrub washes out very easily without leaving any caste, even though being creamy. My facial skin feels bright, soft and supple after the usage to the extent I don't feel like applying a moisturizer after washing my face [Remember this is HOT summer and my facial skin is OILY in summers] But normal to dry and extra dry skin types would definitely require a good moisturizer to maintain the skin soft and supple. When I scrubbed my skin using this product after a long day out in sun, I happened to see my tan has been lightened and my skin became fresh after using this scrub. It also leaves my skin even toned with regular usage. Due to the grainy texture of the scrub and a bit over exfoliation factor, I do use this scrub once every 7-10 day and it keeps my skin free from any dead cells or dark patches. Believe me,  you will need just a blob for your entire face and neck; hence this product is going to last really longer. Overall, I would say this is a great buy for everyone.

    PROS:
    • Does the exfoliation part very well; if you are tired of your 'subtle granule' scrubs, then you will love it
    • Leaves skin soft, bright and supple.
    • Suits almost every skin type; a great boon for dry skinned people
    • Skin doesn't feel any dry or stretchy at all
    • Spreads onto the skin easily and washes out easily with less amount of water
    • Doesn't irritate or hurt skin. No breakouts I experienced
    • Removes new tan and evens out skin tone with regular usage
    • Skin feels soft and refreshed after every usage. It leads to better makeup application
    • Reasonable price
    • A single blob is enough for the whole face and hence the product would last longer
    • Pleasant lingering fragrance
    • Simple, girly and travel friendly pink packaging

    CONS:
    • Sensitive skin types might find the scrub harsh on their facial skin; but perfect for the body

    Note from my experience:
Some normal skin typed people may also feel the scrub HARSH but listen, you need this much of exfoliating power to get rid of the dead skin cells well; soft scrubs those having colourful granules do only look attractive, but don't work attractive. Make scrubbing gentle with this avocado scrub, use it not more than once in a week and you will get the most of it.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 (The granules could have been some more subtle but that's not a big con for me, because I know how much GENTLE should I be) :P

Recommendation: No doubt! Go for it unless you are the owner of extra sensitive skin type.

Would I Repurchase?: Definitely yes! I am wondering whether they will launch these kinda scrubs in some more fruit variants.

Hope you liked the review of this Vedic Line Plus Exfo 10 Avocado Face Scrub. Do share your comments and love about the review. In case of any doubts, feel free to submit.

Disclaimer: Product sent by the brand for consideration; honest review as usual

Top 4 Facial Scrub Recipes from Your Kitchen

Day by day, our skin shed dead cells that forms a dark layer over the epidermis. This results in dull and lifeless looking skin, so you might need some exfoliating scrubs to get rid of these dead skin cells. Whether it is an expensive or a cheap priced scrub, everything matters about result is proper usage. You should be very careful during the scrubbing process as it may result in rashes if over done or simply a waste of time if done very gently. The sensitive skin areas such as face should be scrubbed off gently while a little more pressure is needed in rough knee and elbow parts. It is recommend to scrub off your dead skins at least once a week, however you can follow scrubbing twice every week if it is prepared with your simple and natural kitchen ingredients. How often we can run behind those attractively packed chemical scrubs? Don't you think they are filled up with artificial and chemical ingredients? Just stay away from them for a while and take a tiny visit to your kitchen to bring out the lovely and skin friendly ingredients! They naturally scrub away your dead skin cells to bring out that radiant glow. Let us check today, some interesting scrubbing recipes for dry and oily skin types. These recipes have the ability to remove dead cells, tan and improve your skin complexion.

    Dry Skin Scrub Recipes
Scrubbing may be a little tricky task for people whose skin type is dry. Don't you agree? It is because some overpowering scrubbing particles may scratch your dry skin resulting in rashes and scars. So make sure to choose ingredients that are gentle and mild. Your scrub recipe should also include some natural moisturizing ingredients to balance the moisture loss which happens during the scrubbing process. Well, are you ready? Check these following recipes and add glow to your dry skin by removing those dead cells and adding some nourishment.
    • A teaspoon of honey mixed with a teaspoon coarsely grounded oats and milk powder makes a perfect dry skin scrub. The oats gently scrubs of the dead skin layer while the milk and honey provide nourishment to your dry skin. Who wouldn't love to experience this yummy facial scrub? So hurry up! Take a small bowl and blend the mentioned ingredients. They can do wonders on your skin which you can find through the visible glow after every usage.
    • Some fruits can also nourish your dry skin well. Avocado, Papaya or Peach? Mash any one of these fruits and blend along with honey and a teaspoon of olive oil. Stir well until it turns into a thick pack. Now we need to add some khus khus to this fruit mixture for exfoliating effects. That's it. Blend well, spread on your cleansed face and start scrubbing gently with your finger tips. After ten to fifteen minutes, wash off with clean water and moisturize your skin.

    Oily Skin Scrub Recipes
Not just improper maintenance, even regularly been cleansed and maintained skin has dead cells covered. This is all because of the dirt, pollution and oiliness. Oily skin types are hard to maintain in summers, hence they needed to be scrubbed off at least twice a weak to maintain an even complexion. Honey, milk powder or these kind of nourishing ingredients are not for your oily skin as they may increase the oil secretion and aggravate those angry pimples. Scrub recipes for oily skin types should be mild, as well as effective. Try these scrub recipes below to pamper your oil skin with fruit vitamins and to get rid of dead skins causing dark uneven skin tone.
    • Squeeze juice from half a lemon. Add two teaspoons of rose water and a teaspoon of rice powder to this juice mixture. Blend well to form a thick paste. Spread this scrub on your facial skin and let it sit there for 5 minutes. After that, wet your finger tips and gently start scrubbing in circular motion. Scrub for 5 minutes and allow the mixture for more two minutes and wash off with plenty of cold water. Rice powder acts as a dead cell and tan removing scrub while the lemon juice naturally whitens skin.
    • Tomatoes can also do the trick on oily skin types. Simply puree a tomato and add two teaspoons of grounded oats to it. Blend this mixture well and spread on your facial and neck skin. Scrub gently for a while and wash off. This scrub not only removes the dead skin cells, but also clarifies your skin and improves the natural complexion. Regular usage would result in spot free, patch free radiant skin!
Hope these recipes are useful! Make use of these natural scrubs and forget those chemical ones! Do you have any scrub recipes to share with us girls?

Iraya Grapes and Green Apple Shower Gel Review

Today, I am reviewing the Iraya Grapes and Green Apple Shower Gel which I have been using for a past few days. Previously, we checked out the review of Iraya Almond Nutrifying Skin Food and this time, a fruit shower gel from their brand. Isn't that a yummy experience to use shower gels made of fruit ingredients? We feel all natural and refreshing with those pleasing fruit extracts. Apple and grapes are my favorite fruits, hence I was very excited to try this product soon as I get it. Let us move on to the product description and review.
Product Description:Fresh juices of grapes and green apples are blended with the extracts of brahmi and mimosa to make this refreshing shower gel. It cleanses and balances the skin, and the wonderful aroma of fresh green apples helps perk up and brighten the mood, all day.

Iraya Grapes and Green Apple Shower Gel

    Price: Rs. 295

Quantity: 230 ml approx. (Not sure, I will update soon)

    Ingredient list
Mimosa, sarsaparilla, juice of grapes and green apple.

    Usage Instructions
Apply to wet body. Gently massage and lather. Wash off thoroughly.

    My Experience with this Product
This shower gel comes in a thick and transparent plastic container which looks sleek with a pump type cap. I loved the whole idea of packaging because there would be no leakage or unhygienic experiences. I have nothing to complain about its packaging, this shower gel is sturdy, travel friendly and easy to use. Being light yellow in colour, the shower gel is runny and gel based. I could really smell the apple extracts and yup, the fragrance is so lovely!

The very first time I used this shower gel, I felt very refreshing because of the fragrance. The lathering effect is not that great as soaps, but it lathers decently and almost enough with a loofah pad or a bath scrub. You will need some extra water to wash away or else it would leave a slippery feel. Regular use of this shower gel made my body skin soft and smooth. Overall, it is such a good fruity shower gel which suits normal to dry skins well. It is decently priced for the worth. You would surely enjoy and luxurious refreshment with every bath!

    PROS
    1. Fragrance! It smells sweet and fruity.
    2. Spreads easily. A little amount is enough for whole body.
    3. Sturdy and travel friendly packaging. Hygienic too.
    4. No side effects.
    5. 100% vegan and not tested on animals.
    6. Does the cleansing job well without stripping off excess moisture from the skin.
    7. Makes a best shower gel for normal to dry skins in all the seasons. I guess it suits almost every skin type.
    8. Skin feels soft, smooth and refreshed after every bath.

    CONS
    • Unlike soaps, needs some more water to get washed off completely.
    • Not that lathering, but it is not a con for me at all, Just mentioning.
    • Availability may be a problem. You can get it from leading online shopping sites.
No other thing! I highly recommended this yummy smelling shower gel to everyone! Have a fruit bath experience.

    Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Would I Repurchase?: Of course! It's fruity smelling and also makes my skin soft.

    Remove Sun Tan at Home {Summer Beauty Care Series Part 2}

As promised earlier, here comes the next part of our Summer beauty care series. We discussed about few very simple summer skincare ideas in Summer Beauty Care Series Part 1, because of the reason even beginners should follow. Now, we can check some interesting facts about Sun tan and their curing methods at home. Most of us know what is sun tan, if you don't know much about sun tan, don't bother. Being a skincare beginner, these things are just common. Sun tan is nothing but an uneven darkening of skin due to the over exposure of sun rays. Have you ever noticed your wrist darker than your arms and shoulder? Aren't your fully covered legs and thighs brighter than your hands? This is a great example for suntan. When our skin is exposed to the sun light, the UV rays of the sun affects the skin and gives an uneven tan. You can easily notice in people who do field work etc. It is hard to get rid of long time sun tan or completely remove it. But for sure, we can speed up the healing process and get back our original skin colour with a good skin care routine and patience as well. So, don't go behind those attractively packed chemical whitening lotions or bleaches. They may harm your skin and give you an older skin very soon! All you want is inside your kitchen. Gain some ideas from this post and make your own tan removing recipes for a tan free, bright and clear skin.

Cucumber and Honey Face Pack for Dry Skin Types
Cucumber is a fresh and juicy summer fruit which has been used as a great skin cooling and refreshing ingredient in wide range of cosmetic products. This cucumber, when mashed and mixed with pure honey can act as a great face pack on sun burnt or tanned skin. This effectively calms down skin and removes tan with the whitening properties of honey. Simply mash few pieces of cucumber, add honey and smoothly apply on your facial skin. Leave on for 15 minutes before washing. Honey has skin nourishing properties too, hence your skin's moisture won't be stripped off. If your skin is extremely dry, add few drops of olive oil with this pack.

Lemon and Papaya Face Pack for Oily Skin Types
Does your skin tends to become oily on hot summer days? Leave your worries. Lemon is here to solve your problem. Squeeze half a lemon, add a teaspoon of papaya puree and blend well to form a thick paste. This paste should be used as a face mask leaving the sensitive eye areas and left on skin for at least 15 minutes before washing. This summer fruit mask controls oil secretion and whitens skin with regular use. For excellent tan removing results, follow this thrice a week and don't forget to add a few drops of rose water to this mask if you have sensitive skin.

Yogurt and Tender Coconut Face Pack for Normal Skin Types
Yogurt is meant for healing sun burns and tender coconut water is an excellent skin tonic. After a hot sunny day, mix both the yogurt and coconut water and blend well. Smooth on your face and relax for 20 minutes with cotton pads dipped in water over your eye lids. Wash off with plenty of fresh water and wipe off. Smooth and tan free skin is all yours if followed this pack regularly in the evening, after returning home.

    Tit Bits to Remember
    • Prevention is better than cure, so wear a high SPF lotion before stepping out in sun.
    • Re-application of your sunscreen lotion is recommended once in every 3-4 hours.
    • Instantly calm down skin with fresh aloe gel if you experience any sun burn.
    • All the fruit masks mentioned above should be prepared freshly and used instantly.

Iraya Almond Nutrifying Skin Food Review

Hello beauties! Winter is almost gone but still dry skinned people are born to moisturize their skin now and then in all the seasons. Who doesn't like soft and moisturized skin? If you skip your moisturizer, all you get is lifeless, dull and unattractive skin. Dry, normal, oil, sensitive or any skin typed you're, moisturization is an important step in daily skin care routine. Today, I am reviewing  a product which claims to work on normal to dry skins and let us see how it works. The name itself is attractive, "Skin food" so I was super excited to use this product even I don't have that much dry skin. This is a product from Iraya, an ayurvedic brand. Let us move on to the product description and review now.
Product Description:  Protein-rich nourishment for restoring firmness & radiance | For normal to dry skin |  With almond, Indian madder (manjishta), rose petals and sandalwood oil, this nutrient-rich cream is easily absorbed by the skin. Ensures both corrective and preventive action, minimises fine lines, delays signs of ageing and restores firmness and radiance. Ideal for normal to dry skin.

Iraya Almond Nutrifying  Skin Food Review

    Price: Rs. 495 for 50g

    Shelf Life: 2 years

Key Ingredients: Almond, Manjishta, Sandalwood, Aloe, Sesame

    Usage Directions
Apply and gently massage using fingertips into face and neck, in smooth upward movements. Best to use after cleansing and toning. An essential daily ritual for soft, radiant and younger-looking skin.

    My Experience with this Product
I love anything natural on my skin. That too Almonds? They are my favorite skin nuts. Whenever my skin feel lifeless or tanned I just smash some almonds with milk and cover it up. An instant skin nourishing mask is done. When I came to know about this skin food, I was super excited because of the almond content. The product comes in tub packaging, which is not so preferable for me but still it is okay because a vacuum lid is inside to prevent spillage. The tub is transparent, firm and travel friendly.

Iraya Almond Nutrifying  Skin Food Review

A very thick, creamy rich consistency it has, as same as cow butter. The cream has a slight peachy tint, just very slight and smells good too, even bearable for sensitive noses. Due to the thick consistency of the cream, it takes little more time to get completely absorbed by the skin. The product claims to work on normal and dry skin and so I felt this a little heavy on my normal skin. I guess it is one of the best winter pick for normal skins. Oily skins never go for it because your skin will end up in looking greasy. Do you have dry skin? Then this one is best for you anytime.

Iraya Almond Nutrifying  Skin Food Review

Iraya Almond Nutrifying  Skin Food Review

This cream doesn't make skin look much greasy, but actually my skin felt greasy a bit after application. Even though it feels heavy on my normal to oily skin, I used this as a night cream to notice the results. After two weeks of usage, my skin is noticeably soft and firmer than before. It also helped reducing some fine lines under my eyes. So, overall it is a great smooth moisturizer for dry skin types as per the claim. Aloe and sandalwood ingredients are more plus. It may be pricey for few, but worthy for the results. 40+ women will love it however even young ones can try it.

    PROS
    1. Smooth, creamy and thick consistency which is easily spreadable.
    2. Smells good. Some herbal + nutty mix it is. Even sensitive noses wont hate it.
    3. Contains natural ingredients like Sandalwood, Aloe and Sesame.
    4. Really it acts as a great skin food for dry skins! Heals and nourishes well. Worthy try!
    5. Winter pick for normal skin types. Nourishes skin well.
    6. Softens and firms skin with regular use. Difference in fine lines is visible.
    7. Can be used as a night cream too with slight massaging.
    8. A great natural anti aging product for 40+ beauties. It actually nourishes well.
    9. No side effects and I have experienced no breakouts too.
    10. Pack is firm and travel friendly.

    CONS
    1. Not for oily skin. Do you think this as a con? Of course not because they doesn't claim (I am just mentioning)
    2. Normal skins may feel it greasy on summers.
    3. Tub packaging is not hygienic. I would love to get it in tube.
    4. Might be little pricey for a moisturizer. But it is worthy as well.

    Overall Rating: 4/5

My Recommendation: This is a must try skin food for dry skin types. It nourishes and moisturizers well however dry your skin is. The staying power is great too. Normals, get one in winters and a big no-no for oily skinned girls.

Will I Repurchase?: Of course yes! because it improves my skin softness and texture. Waiting for next winter!

Exfoliate at Home For Brighter Complexion

Even toned healthy skin is the key to flawless beautiful face. But even world beauties needs some makeup and touch ups to cover their uneven skin. Uneven skin is caused due to improper maintenance, unhealthy diet and mainly because of the hyper pigmentation. Melanin is a pigment that our skin cells contain as the colouring substance, less counting in some areas and concentrated in some areas of the skin. For example, dark people's skin contain more melanin pigments while comparing to the pale ones. It is not that pale people are beautiful than the dark ones. Dark beauties with a flawless glowing skin beats white dull skins. Whatever your skin type may be, it must be clear to be beautiful. Due to some unhealthy practices and the main enemy sun, the skin color differs which causes uneven skin tone and dullness. As skin is the largest organ of our body, it is much exposed to sun, dirt and other pollution. Harmful UV rays damages your skin and increases the uneven melanin production. In this post, let us discuss about some natural exfoliating scrub recipes that can even out skin and brighten your complexion.

    Why to Exfoliate?
The first thing you should go for is exfoliation when it comes to getting clear and beautiful skin. Regular exposure to sun, dirt and pollution, improper skin maintenance causes uneven dull skin. A layer of dead cells covers the surface of your skin and makes it look lifeless and dull. Dark or pale, a uneven skin is not beautiful at all. A perfect skin should be smooth, shiny and glowing, not the one covered up with dead cells, scars and bumps. Hence, exfoliation the first step when it comes to beautiful brighter skin. You can use some natural exfoliating scrubs from the kitchen! Yes. your own kitchen. You may or may not realize, but some natural ingredients from your kitchen can remove all your dead cells. I will list you few recipes as per your skin type. Choose wisely and say goodbye to those dead cells.

Exfoliating Scrub Recipes from your Kitchen

    For Oily Skin
    1. Rice flour mixed with butter milk can act as an excellent facial exfoliating scrub. This removes all the dead skin cells, as well as the extra oiliness. Mix both to form a cream, apply it over your facial skin and scrub gently with your finger tips. After 3-4 minutes, wash off your face with clean and cold water. Pat dry.
    2. You can also replace grounded oats for the rice powder. Add some diluted lime juice and butter milk to the oats. Blend well. A quick 2 minute scrub is ready now!
    3. Take 2 teaspoons of orange peel powder, mix rosewater to make a paste. Workout on your face with your finger tips scrubbing gently. Splash fresh water and wash off. This scrub not only removes the dead skin cells but also improves the complexion.
    For Dry Skin
Unlike the oily skin types, dry skins should be exfoliated in a very gentle way. Dry skins are easily prone to loose excess moisture and so, no moisture removing exfoliating scrubs should be used on your skin.
    1. Almond should be grounded, not to a thin paste, the mixture should be granulated for the exfoliating effect. With this almond granules mix some milk cream and start scrubbing your cleansed face. After 5 minutes, wash off your face with cold water and moisturize.
    2. Grounded oats mixed with honey and olive oil can also be used as an excellent dry skin exfoliater.
    3. Khus Khus is an excellent source of Vitamin E, a skin friendly vitamin. Mix this with honey and rose water to prepare your exfoliating scrub in seconds. This can be used in alternate days to achieve even and brighter skin tone.
Normal to Oily and Normal to Dry skins should make some adjustments in these scrubbing recipes. As you observe, ingredients like milk, honey and oils are for dry skin types and the rice flour, lime juice are for oily skinned beauties. For exfoliating the body skin, get the loofah! So adjust your exfoliating scrub recipes and use it to get that parlour effect! A clean and clear skin is totally yours if you take a resolution to scrub gently twice every week.

It is a transparent plastic bottle, very sturdy and thus it will be easy to find out how much product is left inside. Being hygienic and also travel friendly, I don't think it will create any mess. Perfect Packaging!
    5/5

    Colour, Consistency & Texture
I fell in love with the colour to be frank. It looks like a smooth butterscotch ice cream filled in the bottle. The moisturizer is in milky pale yellow colour and the texture is very smooth. The moisturizer is not thick or powdery, it has the ice cream consistency, neither thick nor too runny. Perfect for a light moisturizer. I can feel the turmeric and sandalwood smell in it and so the fragrance part is quite good too. Completely bearable for even sensitive noses, moreover it's very fresh and lovely.
    4.5/5

    How it works on Me
This sandalwood and turmeric moisturizer is for normal to dry & mature skin, though I tried it as the winter chillness doesn't completely get vanished off. This moisturizing cream should be used very little on normal and oily skin types, or else you will feel greasy. Dry skins will love this to core, it's a skin food for you in summers, winters and whatever the season is. This moisturizer spreads over my facial skin very smoothly and quickly, I needed just a single drop for my whole face. My skin was moisturized and fresh throughout the day, however oily skins may feel it a bit greasy. My mom tried this product and said it made her fine lines vanish a little. So overall, its a good product for normal to dry and mature skins as per the claim. I can't reduce ratings for the greasy feel as they doesn't claim for "Oily skins". but girls! Cheer up. There are many more variants in this range, check out their site for more info.

    PROS
    1. Yummy butterscotch colour and smooth texture. The texture is perfect for a moisturizer.
    2. A good sandalwood + turmeric fragrance which I could really feel.
    3. Very affordable as you get a huge quantity for 220 bucks. You can get it more cheaper from leading online shopping sites. A single bottle will last for ages. A great buy!
    4. Hygienic and travel friendly pump bottle packaging.
    5. Doesn't show any side effects on my skin.
    6. Made my skin tight and soft with regular usage.
    7. Reduces fine lines up to an extent has the ingredients have anti-aging properties.
    8. Sandalwood and Turmeric are the main ingredients. What natural you want more than these?!
    9. Great shelf life of 3 years.
    10. This is really a boon for dry and mature skins in all the seasons.
    11. Fresh and lovely fragrance.

    CONS
    1. Availability is the only problem though you can easily get it from leading online shopping sites in great discounts.
My Recommendation: Dry skins would love it and stick to it! Perfect for normal skins in winter. And oily people, not for you. Try the other variants from this range.

    Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Will I repurchase?: Sure. A single bottle will last for ages though :P

Disclaimer: Product sent by PR for reviewing purpose, but all my opinions remain honest as usual.
