REVIEW & LOTD: Inglot Eye Shadow DS 72

First My Weight Loss Program Update
Peopleeeeeeeee as you all know I have put on a lot weight in the past few months. I used to fluctuate between 48-50 Kgs before getting married, I gained weight during wedding preps (yes i was very happy) and became 52 Kgs and after that my weight has been consistently increasing. When I weighed myself 2 weeks back I was 59 Kgs! Can you even imagine that? So then knowing my body's ridiculous tendency to put on weight and also shed weight with equal ease, I started on my patent diet plan and exercise regimen, I now proudly stand at 54.5 Kgs after 14 days! :) My target you ask... It is 50 Kgs :) In order to keep me motivated I shall be giving you updates of my weight in each post. I know I know many of you wont be interested but then you can just skip this part na ;) Also, if anyone is interested I can share my diet plan and exercise regimen with them :) *high hopes* :P

Review
As you all know I shopped a lot of Inglot in my recent trip to Mumbai. I had earlier used Inglot's lippies and cream liners but this was the first time I was purchasing their eye shadows and so this review is a bit special as I am reviewing my first Inglot eye shadow :) The shadow to be reviewed today is DS72, where DS stands for "Double Shine" and is a gorgeous "plummy" Purple with a sprinkle of silver shimmer in it. The shimmer does look chunky in the pan but there is negligible fall out and the shimmer is almost invisible when seen on the eye. Thus you see a matte shadow on the eye and not a DS! This is one major reason I love this shadow :)

Pigmentation wise, this shade fares so-so maybe because I am comparing them to my "awesomely" pigmented Sleek shadows. However, this Inglot shadow shows up beautifully on a primer and since I never do eye makeup without a primer so I am not complaining. But if you are the types who skip on the eye shadow base then you may not find it pigmented enough though this shadow is pretty build-able! :P

For how long do they stay? Well I am wearing this for over 3 hours now and it is still intact so I am guessing that it has some good staying power and does not crease easily :)

REVIEW: Purplle.com

For those of you who don't know purplle.com, it is an online shopping portal with its own purpllebox as well. I have not yet received a purplle box but I did have the opportunity to shop at their online store and well I must say I am impressed with the brands that they have. From Vichy to Escada, Estee Lauder to YSL, Zoya to Moschino and Maybelline, Colorbar, Lakme etc :) No they are not paying me to do a review, they just called one fine morning and told me about their website. Told me they were offering all Indian Beauty Bloggers a Rs.100/- off discount on a purchase of Rs.500/- and if I was interested, I could make a purchase and also review their site. Initially, I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy anything but when I checked out their site, I was of course tempted :P heheheheh... Initially I thought of buying some cosmetics, but then I knew there would be a time in future when the blog-o-sphere would be buzzing with purplle.com reviews for cosmetic purchases, so I purchased a perfume and a pack of facial wipes :)

This is what I bought...

Now coming to the web site. The home page is pretty attractive and the site is quite easy to browse. Nothing extraordinarily pretty about it but a very practical interface. One thing that I really liked about the site was that when I click on the tab called "brands", it gives me a list of ALL brands alphabetically rather than page-wise. Here's how the site looks and the list of brands it has to offer...

Now coming to the customer service, I was seriously impressed with the really short time they took to revert to my emails. I would send them an email and I would get a response within 10 mins! That was pretty impressive and also the fact that they spoke to me on the phone regarding my doubts was appreciated. When I finally did place my order, I got an email within the next 10 mins about confirming my order and an invoice. I did a pre-paid transaction though. And within 48 hours they had shipped my order through Aramex and sent me an email with the tracking details and stuff. Now Aramex isn't one of my favorite courier companies cause they take a lot of time to deliver within Pune. According to the tracking details, my package reached Pune Aramex Office within 4 hours of the mail being sent from Mumbai. But they took 2 days to deliver it to my place! LOL... Btw same thing happened with me for my Blisscovered Box as they sent it through Aramex as well :P

What about the packaging? Well, again the packaging wasn't really extra-ordinary but yup again practical. My perfume bottle was safe and no leakages or cracks. After seeing nicer and prettier packaging from other portals including Brandmile, Fashion & You, Blisscovered and all, this was a little dampener :P

All in all I have had quite decent experience with purplle.com and I might even order one their boxes :) Plus their varied spectrum of brands on offer is seriously quite tempting :) Especially if you are a fragrance buff like me :) Plus most of the stuff are already on discount :D Yay!

Would I Buy From Them Again?
Yes! Definitely! Good customer service, variety of perfumes and most products on sale is a huge PLUS!

Would I Recommend?
Yes! Especially since they offer not only cosmetics but also fragrances, skin care, hair care and styling tools!

8/10

6 The Right Way to Choose a Good Cosmetic

At present almost all women are familiar with cosmetics, and even for some men also used for facial treatments or skin. Choosing a good cosmetic, to get a match is not an easy thing. The problem is we often do not understand, what is the basic material used for a particular product. Therefore, you better be more careful in choosing your cosmetics are safe to use. 6 the right way to choose a good cosmetic, was presented by Dr. Robert Greene, author of Hormone Balance for Fertility, maybe this can help explain how.

1. Recognize the type of skin
How do you skin type? Dry skin, sensitive skin, oily skin? Skin type, determine which cosmetic products should you choose. Effectiveness of each product is different according to the specifications listed on the types of skin products. For example, products for dry skin when used for oily skin will not be useful to reduce excess oil. May actually trigger the production of oil on the face.

2. The content found on cosmetic
It is not as important as these factors before. Although these products promise a variety of tantalizing results but if not evidenced by abortion, there would be no point. Make sure cosmetics are free from harmful substances such as mercury and hydoquinon. Such materials do give quick results but can lead to dependency and if stopped will menimbulan new problem is more severe in the face.

3. Using organic ingredients.
In general, these materials are safe and contain only a few chemicals. You still have to check again the label that lists the materials used, and make sure nothing harmful. There are some make-up or cosmetics that do use perfume in addition to its product. Chemicals that can damage the body, to material that is easily absorbed into the pores of the body and into the bloodstream. Such as perfume, for example.

4. Legality of the product
Choose cosmetics that are legal. . Legality of the product is considered crucial because the market has been flooded with offers a variety of cosmetic products efficacy and an attractive price. These illegal products liability shall be held if the side effects will occur on the user.

5. List of composition
Consumers need to know the types of materials contained in cosmetic products that will be chosen. This information can be known if the producers honestly lists the materials used on the packaging label.

6. Name & address manufacturers
Name and address of the manufacturer should be clearly listed clearly on labels so that consumers will easily find information and file complaints if things happen that any adverse effects of the use of products produced. Good manufacturers usually include a special number for service konsumenlam and address of the website can be reached.

Well, hopefully 6 right way to choose a good cosmetic that has been presented above can be your consideration in selecting cosmetics

No Jeans Policy - Week One

Well, I have survived one week so far of my no jeans policy! Go me! You can see the daily outfits below :)

Outfit One - Wednesday 22nd February 2012

Black embellished cardigan, owl dress, skinny brown belt, jeggings and brown boots.

 Outfit Three - Friday 24th February 2012
 Purple polka dot top, jeggings

 Outfit Four - Saturday 25th February 2012

Flower print dress (one of my personal favourites of all time!), black tights, brown boots

 Outfit Five - Sunday 26th February 2012

Blue/Green top, Jeggings - Today was a lazy day ;)

 Outfit Six - Monday 27th February 2012

Outfit Seven - Tuesday 28th February 2012
Grey cardigan, yellow polka dot dress with skinny brown belt, thick cream tights, black pumps

Although I could have been a bit more creative, I'm quite pleased so far as I didn't think I'd even last a day! I've found that I don't really have a decent selection of proper skirts, most of them are fairly short for nights out so I definitely need to get some more casual skirts. My favourite outfit this week would be outfit four, I think it has a nice rocker girl feel to it :)

I will blogging my progress weekly showing all my outfits from that week, however I have for the most part been updating the actual page daily so you can look daily if you so wish or just check weekly!

So far so good :)

My PINK Lipsticks :)

Ever since I purchased the MUFE Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Shade 34, I have been obsessed with it. I wear it everywhere I go and I am totally in love with it :) So in order to see if I have any Pink lippies that might be similar to it, I started swatching my favorite Pink lippies side by side. Once I had swatched all my favorite ones, I realized that I could do a post on it very similar to the one I did for Red lippies... So well this was the inspiration behind this post of mine :)

Disclaimer: I have excluded a few pink lippies, included just my favorites as of now :)

Inglot Shade 66
I have already reviewed this shade here. This shade can be described as a nude natural pink and is extremely flattering for Indian Skintones!

MAC Craving
This has always been my most favorite Pink Lipstick, not only cause the shade is gorgeous but also because the texture and the feel of the lipstick is very comfortable and moisturising. It is a muted pink that is perfect for office and a night out equally!
I have already reviewed it here

Colorbar Velvet Matte in Addictive Magenta
Of course its no secret that I LOVE Colorbar Velvet Matte Lippies and so it was obvious that I would feature at least one lippy from this range. Nothing comes close to a bright pink in this range than Addictive Magenta. Its a super bright pink in a matte finish and has my fav quality of staying for like ever!
I have reviewed it here

Chambor Shade 335
This lipstick is a relatively new purchase and one of my first Chambor lipsticks. It is another nude pink on my lips and is perfect for a cracked lips day. Yes it is extremely moisturising but doesn't stay on for long. I sometimes use it as a lip balm. Yeah its so good! :)
Review pending :)

MUFE Shade 34
Yay yay yay this was one of my first MUFE purchases (yes i know you all know) and I am so in love with lippy that even the "pati" is starting to feel insecure! I swear! No exaggeration here :P Its a gorgeous muted Fuchsia Pink shade which stays on for like ever. Yes it has outdone Colorbar Velvet Matte Lippies as well where staying power is concerned. I know some people complain Colorbar ones to  be a bit drying but if they find this drying then I will for sure stop blogging :P Yup its that awesome! :)
Review pending :)

Inglot Shade 33
This is another of my latest purchases from the Mumbai Trip. Looking at this shade adjectives like "dhinchak", "bhadkeela" and "jhatak" come to mind. hahahahah.. Yes! the shade is in the face gorgeous! and perfect for a girl's day out shopping! Would describe it as a head-turner Pink and is special cause Preetha, Jyotirupa, Jinal and I, all four own it :)

Inglot Shade 68
Now this is a sensible "on the brighter side" pink shade and is perfect for an office party :) I am horrible at describing shades so I have provided you with swatches :P Make your own decisions :)

Any pink recommendations for me anyone? :)

6. I am a software engineer by profession working with Symantec, but take out at least 2 hours in a day for make-up after I come back from office, cook for my "pati" and clean the house :P How do I do it? I have no freaking idea! *blowing my own trumpet* ;)
7. I never liked wearing foundations and I still try to avoid it as much as I can :P Why? Cause I have this fear that it will start peeling and everyone would laugh at me :P Yup very akin to a "foundation phobia" :D
8. My idol and my inspiration is Jennifer Lopez... For make-up, for fitness, for fashion, for style, for hair styles... For everything!

2. Do you feel guilty on the amount of beauty products you have? Very Rarely :P

3. What do you think is your best purchase in regards to makeup? MAC Mineralize Compact Foundation with SPF 15 for my mom :) She was delighted! But if you are asking make-up for me then it has to be my recently purchased MUFE Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in shade 34

4. What is your favorite language and why? My favorite language would be my father's language that is MANIPURI (mei-tei-lon) cause it sounds very unique and exitoc! In foreign languages my favorite is SPANISH cause the pronunciation and the accent is very s*xy

5. Are you brand crazy when it comes to accessories like handbags and shoes?? It might sound pretentious but I am brand conscious! I prefer to have two good branded bags than have 7 unbranded ones. Is that too pretentious? :(

7. Whats your favorite high end brand and drug store brand for cosmetics? MAC. Drugstore: Colorbar and Faces

8. Whats the best brand for skincare? Hmmm surprisingly I am not brand conscious where skin care is concerned. I like whatever best suits me. As of now I swear my Garnier Body Cocoon (as my Daytime moisturiser), Extra Virgin Olive Oil (as my night cream) and Pond's Whitening face wash. I have recently started using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. But its too early to say if I like it or not :)

9. Can you go out of your house without any makeup? (Not even tinted lip balms) I refuse to leave the house without kajal, lipstick/gloss and blush. Eye liners have now become optional :) I try to be regular with mascara but I tend to forget to apply it :P

  5. What is the weirdest thing you've ever come across in life? Oooh now this has got me thinking! Weirdest I guess would be when a journalist wrote in Mumbai Mid-day about Agatha Christie very confidently stating that her detective was never a woman (he forgot about Miss Marple) and referred to Hercule Poirot as the "French Man" :P
  6. Who is "THE ONE" person who can make you smile when you are in a terrible mood? ok hold your "awwwwwsss" but it is the PATI!

  9. What according to you is something all bloggers should follow? (like a code of conduct etc) Do not copy from ANYWHERE. Copying and not giving is PLAGIARISM people! Its not only shameful, it is unethical and proves that you are a liar deep inside! Sorry but it gets to me real BAD!

Mumbai Bloggers Meet and Haul :) [UPDATED WITH MORE PICS]

Hello everyone... Finally I could get some time and could start posting about my Mumbai trip and the Blogger's meet that we had in two installments :) Got home late last night, then went out for dinner with the "pati" and finally when we were home, I was so sapped out of energy that all I could was think of my bed and some sound sleep :) Oohhh looks like the Mumbai trip did tire me out :) So without much ado, let me just start with all the updates :)

Mumbai Blogger's Meet
The Mumbai Blogger's Meet was almost in two parts, one in North Mumbai and the other in South Mumbai... In the North Meet, Jinal, Jyoti, Preetha and I met up at Infinity Mall (Malad) where we shopped from Colorbar and Inglot (as was decided)... Like I told you guys before, we met up like we knew each other since eternity and as if I was back from boarding school in Pune and was meeting all my old friends (there goes my imagination!) :P It was so much fun and we were all at such ease with each other that it totally amazed me! :) After we hauled at Inglot and Colorbar, we proceeded towards Inorbit Mall (Malad) and hauled at Make Up For Ever and Kiehl's! Yay yay yay! :D It was great fun! :)
Jinal like many of you all know is a sweetheart and her eye make-up was just AWESOME. She is a drum of constant chatter and some delightful gossip! She and I traveled together from Marine Drive to Malad, which took us about 2 hours because of Saturday traffic (yes Mumbai has a typical kind of traffic for every day) :D WHat do you expect from two girls left together in a vehicle, which neither of them are driving for two hours? GOSSIP! LOL yup! but no nothing mean and bad ;) Just generally fun and girly banter :)
We met Preetha and Jyoti directly at the mall. I was meeting Preetha for the first time and wow she is such a beauty! Typical South Indian features of a sharp nose and beautiful expressive eyes (bharatnatyam types)... And her hair? WOW! Long black perfect and thick! And her delicate neck was the epitome of femininity. Oh God! I sound like a pervert! :P Preetha I hope you don't mind! :D Ooh and Preetha is like this live review of anything Inglot! :D
What struck me about Jyoti was her clear, blemish free and beautiful skin :) Totally gorgeous and totally glowy! She was the chirpy, bubbly one. Well yes we all had our bouts of girly giggle everywhere we went and yup we did attract a lot of attention. But then you didn't expect anything less than beauty bloggers now did you? :P

The South Blogger's Meet took place in my backyard (figuratively) :P I took meet everyone for only about 10 mins as I had a bus to catch for Pune. Here, Jinal, Neha, Heer and I met up and nope this time it wasn't about shopping... It was a more relaxed sit, meet and eat at Theobroma kind of a meet and it was seriously great  to meet them! Neha has the most luxurious and most beautiful lashes I have ever seen on a girl! I swear! and Heer had these beautiful half Asian kinda eyes, which as you all know are my fav kinds... Heer has this really sweet smile and laugh and that accentuates the prettiness of her eyes :)

I don't have pics for the second meet as Neha is yet to mail them to me :)

With Neha
(L-R): Heer, Jinal, Me, Neha

My Mumbai Haul
MUFE
As I told you all earlier, I hauled at a great many places but I'll start with the highlight, which was MUFE :)
We all wanted to get ourselves the HD foundation, but sadly they were yet to receive their new shipment so we couldn't get the foundations :( But we all got our shades checked. Surprisingly Jinal, Jyoti and Preetha all ended up with the same shade 128, which the SA told us was "yellow" with a tinge of "Pink" while I was the outcast and he matched shade 153 to me, which he said is pure yellow. Now that wasn't a surprise! :P
They were out of stock of most of the stuff (weird) so I could only get myself a Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in the shade "34" and a Star Powder in an iridescent duo-chrome shade of pearl and golden (shade 940). The star powder can be used as a highlighter, eye shadow, mixed with a clear lip gloss and even mixed with your moisturiser! What more could I ask for!? :D

It wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the SA. He was just amazing! Very patient and extremely sporting! He took time with all of us and answered all our doubts and queries!

INGLOT
Inglot was the first store we visited as was planned and the SAs totally put me off. They were the rudest bunch of SAs I have ever met in my life. They at first refused to be helpful. The head SA was downright condescending at first when I was asking her the price of the empty palettes. Then I told her softly that if she could not provide me with some info in a proper way, I might as well head towards MAC. I dont know what made me say it but it made an impact and then on the SAs were a bit more bearable :P LOL!

From Inglot, I bought a "round" empty palette of 10, 4 eye shadows and one lip pan. Also I got myself a duraline! :) On buying all this I got an eye-shadow free! Yay! :D

COLORBAR
This was not planned but as usual I got tempted and I bought a blush (Floral Fuscia) and a smudge brush. With this I got to pick any eye shadow of my choice for free! Yay! I picked up "Proudly Purple" :D The SAs there were sweet enough and didn't over us like we would just flick something and run! :P LOL!
KIEHL'S
By the time we checked out Kiehl's Preetha and Jyoti had left and Jinal took me to Kiehl's where I had promised I wouldn't buy anything but ended buying a hair serum for dry and damaged hair (Yup! Thats my hair) :D Also, I got myself a sample for ultra facial cream and an overnight repair serum.

The SAs at Kiehl's were just amazing. Very cordial, very enthusiastic and very helpful :)

Hope you liked my haul :)

How Much a Good Bedtime

Sleep is an important part of lifestyle, have a good sleep pattern rule, most do not sleep or sleep deprivation. How much a good bedtime?
All living things need a break after doing the activity / activities, because the activity of living cells using a tissue so that there will be damage to the tissue, the rest is intended to repair the damage in question.

In check, scientists can not say exactly how much sleep each person needs. But there are some guidelines that you should know.
Keep in mind that sleep less than six or seven hours a night associated with the risk of high blood pressure, hypertension, obesity, diabetes and sleep kanker. But how big a role in health and how much sleep each person needs, remains a mystery. Some studies have suggested that older people sleep less.

The research reported in the journal Current Biology in 2008 found the need of sleep. When asked to stay in bed for 16 hours in the dark every day for several days, young participants slept an average of 9 hours. While parents for 7.5 hours of shut-eye. And the study on February 1, 2010 in the journal Sleep concluded older people need less sleep. Some general guidelines from the Mayo Clinic about how much sleep you need is preschoolers 11 hours, 10 hours of school-age children, adolescents nine hours, adult: 7-8 hours, 7-8 hours of parents.

Nighttime is the best time to sleep. This is not a matter of habit that people who work during the day to sleep at night, but a natural look that is more suitable for daytime and night-time work is used to rest / sleep. Implementation beyond the rules of this nature will cause a greater burden and result in unhealthy conditions. As the evidence is that the night watchman, and cinema stars who worked nights as a consequence had to sleep in the daytime, so it can create an effect that may interfere with health.

If you have trouble sleeping, there are some tips to try include exercise, avoiding caffeine and alcohol. Other than that set a regular bedtime, and ideally an adequate place in the bedroom. Trouble sleeping or sleeping with a poor quality and often also the cause of neurological disease or a companion of mental illness. Therefore it is important to get good rest at night. Difficulty sleeping can be overcome with an intention to sleep. There are several factors that help us sleep, such as the cleanliness of the bed, hot baths, hot drinks etc..
There good opinion of the experts generally agree that quality sleep is important, that napping is also good, although it can make a night's sleep becomes more difficult.

So in conclusion, what a good time to sleep? at least 6 hours in a day (preferably at night time) and not more than 10 hours, because it can lead to obesity.

My February Blisscovered Box

I am back from a vacation and I feel as if there is so much pending that I'll need another vacation after I am done with them LOL! My blog posts are pending, cleaning my house is pending, stuffing my fridge with new groceries is pending and well work in office is pending as well :P

Talking about pending posts, I guess it's better late than never and so I am finally and I guess the last person to post about her February Blisscovered Box :P LOL! :D As I already told you all before, these are the products that I received in this month's box:
1. Chambor Stay-On Waterprrof Pencil in Navy Blue
2. H20+Spa Sea Salt Hydrating Body Butter
3. Omved Tired Foot Soak
4. CK Shock One
5. Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Balancing Softener

The products like I mentioned before didn't really excite me and well for one I would have loved to receive the Chambor Eye Shadow Trio rather than the pencil. But then that's my luck :P The perfume sample, CK SHock One was too strong for me as I prefer more understated and subtle fragrances. The H20+ body butter was surprisingly pretty drying for me even in Mumbai's humidity! But in all fairness I am quite excited to try out the Omved Foot Soak and the Shiseido skin softener :)

What I really liked about Blisscovered was their personal touch in everything. The note with my name, my name on the product info sheet and even mentioning "ISimplyLoveMakeUp" on my address totally blew me away :) I mean I hadn't mentioned my blog to them but they still took pains to find out and print it on my address :) Thank You Blisscovered! :D Just because of this gesture I shall be ordering the March box as well :P

Auravedic Facial Skin Repair Moisturizing Lotion Review

Pollution, dirt and mistakes in daily diet routine make our skin look dull, lifeless and aged. To recover from all these skin issues, we need a good nourishing skin repair lotion. It should nourish our skin, penetrate deeper and work to clarify the skin issues. Today, I am reviewing a Facial Skin Repair Moisturizing lotion from Auravedic. We have already seen the review of Pulpy almond honey face wash from this brand and this is my second using product from them. I am so much impressed of this product at first sight for the "Skin Repair" claim. Who doesn't like their skin to be perfect? So, I have been using this cream for past few days and now comes my review.

Auravedic Facial Skin Repair Pure Nourishing Moisturizing Lotion

Price: Rs. 200 for 100 ml

Shelf Life: 2 years

Ingredient List
Kokum butter, Mango butter, Beeswax, Sunflower Olive Oil, Almond oil, Grape seed extract, Olivem 1000, Oilwax, Neroli Oil, Purified water, Phenoxyethanol.

Claims of the Product
Auravedic's unique blend of nourishing bio-actives assists the skin's natural process of regeneration to help restore it's elasticity and suppleness while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. The lotion is easily absorbed and deeply penetrating.

Usage Instructions
Gently massage onto face & neck until completely & thoroughly absorbed. Use 2-3 times day or night.

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
This product comes in a thick transparent plastic bottle with a press type inner lid and a silver coloured screw cap. The cap is stiff, hence this becomes travel friendly. And it would be easier for you to find how much product is left inside because of its transparency. I think you need to put a hole in the center of the inner lid in order to take the lotion out. I feel it a bit tricky and expecting some more easier packaging from Auravedic like tubes or squeeze types. Thank god it's not a tub! Hygienic bottle it is!
4/5

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
The lotion is milk white in colour with a normal to runny consistency and smooth texture. To say about the fragrance, really I can't express it properly. It's a bit floral, bit herbal and a bit medicinal too. The fragrance is not fruity or sweet but still it has a bearable natural smell. Sensitive noses may feel a bit heavy but the smell gets milder few minutes after the application.

After Applying

How it works on Me
I squeezed a bit of lotion in my palm, dotted it all over my facial skin and started to massage. The lotion got absorbed quickly without leaving much greasy feel(but oily skins may feel a bit greasier) and it also doesn't leave any whitish caste over my facial skin. After few minutes, the greasy feel and the fragrance vanished. Then my skin felt so soft, smooth and nourished!  With regular use, it made my pores tighten and also helped in improving the texture of my skin. This is what I experienced with this facial skin repair lotion. As I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines, I can't say about this part but my aunt who used this felt it helps her wrinkles too. So, I guess it has anti aging properties also. Overall, I would say that it's a great pick for dry skins, normal skins (Night usage is best) and I don't think this will work on oily skins. The lotion doesn't break me out and doesn't give me any other side effects. It does what it claims because I really saw a good improvement over my skin's texture. Worth a try!
4.5/5

PROS
  1. Smooth texture which spreads easily over the skin.
  2. Contains natural ingredients like almond oil, olive oil and kokum butter.
  3. It is mentioned on the pack to use it 2-3 times a day, so I guess it's too light and natural over facial skin.
  4. No side effects. No break outs.
  5. Comes in a economical price for the good quantity.
  6. Tightens pores and improves the softness and elasticity of the skin.
  7. Works as a great moisturizer for dry skins.
  8. Keeps skin nourished for long hours even though the texture is so light.
  9. No animal testing :D :D
  10. A single bottle lasts really long as a tiny squeeze of lotion is enough for the whole face and neck. So, I would say it as an affordable buy.
CONS
  1. Not for oily skins as it may give a slight oily feel. I am not sure about it, you can still try this lotion in dry winters.
  2. Packaging can be little improved. (Can't be taken a con, because it comes in a very hygienic bottle)
  3. The fragrance can even be little milder. So that sensitive noses will feel it good.
My Recommendation: A big yes for dry skins, normal skins and matured skins. It retains the skin's elasticity as it claims. Also acts as a great moisturizer for extremely dry skins. Not a must product for oilies, yet do try it in dry winters.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase?: Sure! :) In winters and springs. A single bottle lasts really long though.

Product sent by PR for reviewing purposes. But all my opinions remain honest.

The real ins and outs of planning a wedding ; The Gossip!

I thought with it being Valentines Day this month it might be nice for Laura to do something a bit different with her guest post this month! Rather than updating about her wedding planning, instead she has answered a few questions regarding hers and Rob's relationship. It's quite refreshing to hear the answers to these questions from real couple :)

1. How did you and Rob meet?
We met in a club through mutual friends but didn't get together for a while after that. We met up as friends in the first instance which progressed to more later on.

2. How did Rob propose?
We were on a short break in Yorkshire, and we went on a walk to Highforce waterfall (it's beautiful if you ever fancy a trip there! He kept trying to get me to go down onto the rocks (I wasn't having any of it - I had my good shoes on!). As we decided to leave, he got down on one knee in front of the waterfall and proposed. He later told me he wanted to do it on the rocks... felt a bit guilty after that!

3. What is it you love the most about Rob?
What I love most about Rob is that he accepts me for ME. He knows I'm grouchy, occasionally clingy, a bit insecure but he still puts up with it! He's also everything I'm not... patient, relaxed. We make a good team.
(Amen to that, that's real love! Sometimes it's not about massive romantic gestures but just finding someone who accepts you for who you really are!)

4. You say you're not a particularly romantic couple but aside from proposing, what would you say has been the sweetest/most romantic/nicest thing he's done for you and you've done for him?
I'm not romantic in the slighest, but I'd say that the nicest thing I've done for him is buy him an Xbox. It was a totally extravagent gift that we really couldn't afford, so I saved for a year and he got it as a birthday pressie. Perhaps not romantic for some, but he was very surpised! He does lots of lovely things for me, I couldn't choose just one. He's very good at buying diamonds for gifts, I have quite a collection now. He gets lovely thoughtful charms for my bracelet too - each one tells a story. Obviously the proposal is the most romantic thing ever though.

5. What does romance mean to you?
Romance is a tough one to describe... I'm quite happy with a mini break where we can spend quality time together without distractions of the 'real' world...

6. When did you realize that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with Rob?
I knew from early on that I loved him and didn't want to be without him. Although marriage has never been a big issue for me, when I had to leave to go and finish my final semester at university it made me realise that I didn't want to have to do it again.

7. How lucky do you feel that you have found the right person?
You hear stories and see the heartbreak of people whose relationships don't work out and you feel incredibly lucky that you've managed to find the right person. We have our downs... but we have more ups and long may it continue!

8. Do you have a list and if so who's on it? (Aka a list of 5 celebs Rob would allow you to sleep with if you ever met them :P)
No, no lists! I don't like to tempt fate... besides, he's too honest I don't think he could go through with it!

9. After the wedding, what do you think the next step will be of yours and Rob's relationship?
After the wedding we plan to go on as many holidays as we can afford and spend our time how we want to - travelling, progressing our careers, spending time together. If children happen, they happen but it's not in our plans at the moment... we like our lazy days too much!

10. When was the first time you said the L word to each other?
It was me who said the L word first! We were still not really dating properly - we had a 'courtship' period of about 6 months where we didn't want to / weren't ready to commit to a relationship but didn't want to be apart from each other. Rob said it back though, phew!

Updates from Mumbai :)

Hello yellow to all my friends... Let me first say that i really really miss you all... Sighhhhh.. "yeh dooriyaan" :P LOL... Also, I miss my laptop, which I very "dumbly" left at home in Pune and I miss posting on my blog :( Somehow my camera isn't liking my parent's computer and so it refuses to transfer pictures to it... So the pictures that I took of my Blisscovered Box, of the Mumbai Bloggers Meet and most importantly of my haul cannot be flaunted and I'll need to wait till tomorrow night to post them and share it with you guys... But I'll give you a short description till then :)

Mumbai Blogger's Meet
Four of us met up... Jinal, Preetha, Jyoti and I :) The others gave is "dhokha" :(  We met as if we were friends since eternity and as if we meet almost every week! Everyone knew everything about everyone. Awesome isn't it? :) And the best part is we ended buying the same "jhatak" pink lipstick from Inglot... All four of us :) Ok about the haul... We rather I hauled at Inglot, Colorbar, MUFE and Kiehl's yay yay yay! But I think the maximum fun we had was at MUFE cause the SA was just fantastic, very patient and ultra helpful. Ok yeah he was a guy and I think guys somehow give better makeup advise. No offense to anyone really cause the girls at Inglot were just terrible! :( Rude and mean :( Siiiggghhhhh... But then I love the girls at MAC so then I guess I am contradicting myself :P
I am in love with Mumbai all over again :)

My Blisscovered Box
Well the contents aren't really a surprise to anyone... I got what almost everyone got... Just that I would have preferred the Chambor eye shadow trio but I got the pencil :( I hate the perfume sample... CK Shock... Very sweet smelling and over powering... I prefer more subtle and understated fragrances like Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea or say Burberry Touch... CK Shock reminds me of Nina Ricci :( From Shiseido they gave me a skin softener, which I am hoping I'll like, Omved Foot Soak, which I am totally dying to try out and H2O body butter, which surprisingly is very drying for me :( So overall I would give the box a "B" or rather an average rating :( Siiigghhhhh... Am I not sighing too much?

Ok, I am sleepy now and I am yet to book a bus ticket for myself :( Will do that... and you all do go on commenting :) Miss you guys!

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Cream Review

Hi girls! This week or so we have been seeing few reviews of Himalaya Herbals products such as the foot cream, lip butter and kajal etc. Today I am reviewing the fairness cream from this brand. Fairness? It's not a crave for me, but bright and glowing skin? Yes I love it! Who doesn't like their skin to be radiant. So, I gave this product a try to check whether it's making my skin bright, clear spots or something else like that. Using this cream for more than a year, I have a lot to say about it. Now let us see a detailed review on what it does and what it doesn't.

My Views and Ratings

The Packaging
Do you want me to say? It comes in a tube like every other Himalaya herbals cream come. The acne cream, foot cream and bla bla bla. The tube is in white with rose mixed colour, with a green screw type cap. The tube is so simple in looks but it's a TUBE. Isn't that enough for me? Wow It's my favorite!! Because it is hygienic than silly tubs :D Perfect for squeezing with control! Perfect for traveling!. Hey wait, I forgot to mention a thing. The cream tube is compactly placed inside a rectangle cardboard box. No bad I see in it's packaging.
4.9/5 (Expecting some cute packaging from Himalaya Herbals)

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance
The cream is neither too thick nor runny, but its very light as like in between a lotion and cream's consistency. The cream being white coloured has a very light peach tint on it and also a shiny, silky texture. To say about the fragrance, it is unexplainable, the fragrance is a kinda floral + herbal, may be a little heavy for sensitive noses but after applied onto the skin, it gets mild. I loved its fragrance.
4.5/5 (Fragrance can be little mild)

                                                                            Before application

                                                                 After application

How It Works On Me
First thing I want to say is that this cream is in my HG list. My skin tends to change somewhat oily in summers and those times, this cream is pick for sure. It spreads easily (But not that quick, as the consistency is very light you need to massage the cream over your face till it gets absorbed) and gives a light matte effect. It instantly brightens my face and gives an oily free look. However dry skins may feel it stretchy or tight. With regular use, this cream fades away the spots and evens out my skin up to an extent. I dislike the slight powdery consistency of this cream. but still okay with it for its other benefits. It doesn't make me fair, or white as per the claim. No cream can do this I know but the brightening effect is pretty good and this is what I want too. I am not crazy about pale skins :P Bright, soft and beautiful is enough. I totally love this cream and using it everyday! (Except winters). Oily skins and also normal to oily skins should try this one for sure!
4/5

PROS
  1. Instantly gives a matte effect and brightens skin.
  2. Contains natural ingredients such as aloe vera, wall nut, orange and rose which are very good for your skin.
  3. No side effects and it doesn't break out skin! This is a great plus.
  4. Doesn't make skin greasy or oily. Perfect for all season usage in oily skins.
  5. Stays on my face for a long time and can be used as a good makeup base.
  6. Hygienic packaging and travel friendly.
  7. Smells floral. I love it.
  8. Comes in a dirt cheap price and lasts really long as a little amount is enough for whole face and neck.
  9. It's Himalaya herbals. So easily available everywhere!
  10. Fades away dark spots and evens out skin up to an extent.

CONS
  1. Stretchy feel if used on dry skins. It will not suit dry skins anytime, even summers.
  2. Contains parabens. (Every other cosmetic product do so)
  3. The cream has a slight powdery consistency.
  4. Fragrance may be a bit heavy for sensitive noses but gets mild after application.
My Recommendation: A great pick for oily skins! normals too I guess, not sure.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase?: Why not? I said it's in my HG list isn't it? :P
