Whipping Up A Storm: Body Lotions and Body Butters on the Face?

I know I will be a whipping up a storm when I say what I am going to say and well it is quite possible that I will have almost everyone against me but still let me say it :P
I often use a body lotion and in extreme cases body butters on my ----wait for it---- FACE!

Seriously I do... I have very very very dry skin... I know a lot of people wouldn't believe it cause many of my friends and people I know say that it doesn't look that way, but honest to God I have the driest skin God could have ever "blessed" anyone with :P And since eternity I have been using Body lotions on my face... I started out with Vaseline body lotion then graduated to Garnier's Body Cocoon and in Winters even use TBS Body butters on my face. Yup the TBS SA actually was scandalized and almost "scolded" me for doing so but then I am stubborn person! :P

There is only one "logical" reason that I could fathom as to why body lotions and butters shouldn't be used on the face and that is because body products could prove to be super oily for your face and could result in you breaking out like crazy but I guess when you have dry skin like me then that is the only respite you get :P You see none of the face moisturizers (Lakme, Neutrogena, Lotus, Biotique, TBS) have ever suited me excepting Kiehl's ultrafacial cream (well yes thats a cream) and so I have always had to resort to "body" products and well they have worked wonderfully for me :) My skin does look moisturised and not dry and so I am happy with the results :)

How do I or you know I or you have extremely dry skin?
1. I need a heavy moisturiser even after washing my face with plain water.
2. "Moisturising" soaps like Dove, Johnson's and Johnson's and Pears do me no good! They are pretty useless to me...
3. In winters if I do not use a body oil after a bath I start getting cuts on my body (read back, stomach, thighs and legs)

DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing body products for the face! Do what suits you best :P

MORAL I generally do not listen to people blindly where skin and hair care is concerned and I do not recommend anyone to do that. What I am trying to say here is that 40% of your decision should be what others recommend in order to give you a sense of direction in a sea of products available to us, 10% should be your gut feeling and 50% should be based on what suits you personally cause everyone of us is UNIQUE and no one will ever understand what suits you best more than you yourself :) So ladies go out and try out things! :D

Snapshots of how I've spent my week

Week of 23rd - 29th May

1. Arty building in London
2. Inside a Canal boat
3. Canal boats on the river
4. Weird dude on TV
5 & 6. Posing around after curling my hair

7. Pretty make up
8. Lots of traffic in horrible weather!

9 & 10. Posing about with my skull

1.  Arty Building in London I was in London earlier this week and saw this funky building - I just had to take a photo of it. London is filled with quirky stuff like that!

2.  Inside a Canal boat! I decided to visit the London Canal Museum whilst I was there as it was literally only around the corner from my meeting. My visit was short lived though as it turns out a school were having a field trip there so it was filled with screaming kids!
3.  Canal boats on the river Pretty huh?!
4.  Weird dude on TV My Dad loves watching old movies and I caught him watching this yesterday. I don't know what it is, all I know is that the character in question was making very weird hilarious faces. It amused me.
5 & 6.  Posing around after curling my hair Please excuse my miserable face! I rarely ever curl my hair properly as it's so thick it takes me hours and never comes out the way I want it to. However last night I managed to do it quite nice and just had to take a few photos as I was so pleased ha! Proof that I can curl it properly if I put enough effort in! Oh, also, I'm not naked in the first photo! I'm wearing a strapless top haha!
7.  Pretty make up I just really liked my eyeshadow, ha!
8.  Lots of traffic in horrible weather We went to see The Avengers today and it was SO good! We went to see it in Milton Keynes and it was so busy, this was taken just driving out of the centre, there was traffic from right outside the cinema/entertainment complex for like 10 minutes out of the centre afterwards. Madness.
9 & 10.  Posing about with my skull Yes, I own a skull. Like I said, my make up/hair looked pretty good for once so I wanted to take some photos. I uploaded the photo to Facebook and asked people to help name my skull, I got some weird suggestions! My favourite names so far are Roger (coz he has big eyes like Roger from American Dad), Maurice and Nigel Thornberry. LOL

This week I've been -

Watching...The Vampire Diaries
Reading...nothing! I've ordered a book called Married with Zombies (and it's sequels) and 50 Shades of Grey to read on holiday though!
Listening to...Train - Drive By
Playing...Draw Something on my phone
Smelling of...Harajuki Lovers Fragrance - Lil' Angel
Perving on...Pete Wentz and Andrew Goldstein
Loving...the fact that I'm officially and editor now and that I go on holiday today/tomorrow!

I've had an awesome exciting week this week! We think its all down to the fact that my Dad gave a gypsy woman a quid after she begged for money and she gave him and my Mum some lucky charms. My Mum won some money on a scratch card and my Dad got offered a job the same day! Very lucky! I've also had some EXCELLENT bloody amazing news. If you haven't already read about it all over my Facebook & Twitter (where have you been?!) - I've got a new job. Not just any old job, nope, I'd like to announce that I am now the editor of London.com :D It's the most amazing opportunity ever and not only am I going to gain some really great contacts but it's also hopefully going to lead onto some other great opportunities. Please don't go on the website, we're re-launching it in July. There are so many perks to the job as well! Anyway as you read this I'll probably be on the plane or I'd arrived in Egypt right now (this is a scheduled post) and I can't think of a better way to spend a week relaxing before I get my bum into editorial gear. I hope you all have a lovely week and speak to you all soon!

P.S So addicted to this song right now...

Trends: S/S 2012 (Part 2) -> Extreme Smokey Eyes albeit Navy Blue, Nude Lips and Sporty Cheeks

Well well well if it isn't the weekend already! :) And well last night I went totally overboard with makeup. In a span of half an hour I did a total of 4 looks! Wow it was like the Godess of make-up had entered me and was making me whip out some super HOT looks one after another ;) LOL... Yup I know I have some serious humility issues :P

So anyways, its Saturday today and I am back with another set of trends that are well trending with S/S 2012 season :) So here goes...
Blue Smokey Eyes, Nude Lips and Bronzed Cheeks :)

1. Extreme Smokey Eyes (GUCCI)
Surprising or not surprising, smokey eyes are super in :) Yup I am one happy girl this Summer ;) But there are a few pointers to be kept in mind... Like forget black and embrace Navy Blue this season for a "cool" smokey look. You needn't be neat, but that doesn't quite mean that you can go overboard with just any kind of strokes :P You need to cleverly understand how to make it look beautiful even when the blending is uneven ;)

2. Sporty Cheeks (DKNY + Tommy Hilfiger)
Now this is one trend that has been gracing runways a lot! With sporty cheeks, I mean your cheeks should "glow" and looked flushed like you have just finished your workout! :) It should be natural and yet conspicuous! Confused? Go figure! :P
This season pink cheeks are out... You might want to go for Orange, bronzed or peachy blushes :)

3. Nude Lips (CAROLINA HERERRA)
Runways this season have also seen a lot of nude makeup, which is not surprising seeing that it is the Summer season we are talking ;) And well since nude lips complement smokey eyes so well that the following look totally turned out to be a complete package :)

Yup! It goes beautifully with specs as well ;)

Blog It For Babies

I heard about this event through Bex a while back and immediately went and found out more. Blog It For Babies takes place from Sunday 29th April to Friday 4th May and among these days, bloggers from across the UK are coming together to raise awareness and funds for the Save The Children's Built it for Babies campaign.

Blog it for Babies hope to raise money for selected equipment for a delivery room in a healthcare clinic in Bangladesh. Depending on the amount of money raised, they can provide anything from a full delivery kit containing a complete set of equipment for delivering babies, to a skilled birth attendant for a month! You can find a full list here.

There are many different ways in which you can get involved, for example some suggested methods are to donate simply £1 by text, spending 5 minutes of social sharing time to help raise awareness or just writing about the charity.

This post however is specifically about a local event that is taking place near me as part of Blog it for Babies. You can find a full schedule here and on Tuesday 1st of May, Helen from Actually Mummy has arranged an event to take place in St Albans. On the day there will be a Rock Choir Taster, lunch if she can find a sponsor, a bring and buy bake sale and a dance routine instruction from Max. There will also be some raffle prizes to be won!

Unfortunately I cannot attend as I am away on holiday that week, but without a doubt I would be attending and helping to raise money and awareness if I could! If you live locally please do consider coming along to the event and I think it would be great for all you other bloggers to get involved some how even if it's just a short retweet to help raise awareness. Do check the schedule as well as you may find an event taking place near you!

There is also a Facebook page about the event in St Albans! Please click here to find out more about the event and any upcoming changes/additions to the day!

I'm really gutted that I cannot attend!

Vietnamese cuisine

Vietnamese cuisine is famous for the singularity and distinguished taste. It isn't similar neither on Chinese, nor on Korean, to the Japanese. Mint leaves, a coriander, (magnolia vine), shrimps, fish sauce ginger, black pepper, garlic and a basil give to dishes of Vietnamese cuisine unique peculiar aroma. Not burning, and gentle and juicy spices, the minimum use of fats, emphasis on fresh ingredients, a variety of dishes and seafood do Vietnamese cuisine of rice, vegetables not only tasty, but also useful, but also very popular both at the most experienced gourmets, and at adherents of a healthy delivery.

Vietnamese cuisine is very various, nutritious and promotes longevity. Some Vietnamese dishes are unusual for Russians, for example, young escapes of a bamboo — very useful and tasty product, but not differing a pleasant smell (however the sweetened bamboo is very pleasant). Vietnamese cuisine is obliged by specific aromas to plants: to a magnolia vine, mint and many other. One more feature — dishes prepare only from fresh products.
Drinks of Vietnam

Both alcoholic, and nonalcoholic, anything special from the European don't differ: green tea, black tea, coffee, vodka and moonshine, wine, mineral water, beer, sparkling water.
In Vietnamese cuisine there are a lot of prescriptions, especially fish, from seafood, with rice use, from pork, from noodles, with application of various herbs etc. For the main dishes of Vietnamese cuisine prescriptions are provided on separate page.
Firm basis of Vietnamese cuisine is fig. The homeland of rice is the North of Thailand and Vietnam. Imeenno these countries take the first and second place in the world on volume of export of fig. In 2006 Vietnam and Thailand his neighbor signed the bilateral agreement on refusal of production of genetically modified fig.
Configuration of Vietnam often compare to the bent yoke with two baskets of rice: one in the north in the delta of the river Red, the second in the south in the Mekong River delta. These are rice granaries not only Vietnam, but also world value.

Rice in Vietnam and the main nutrition on a table, and a basis for preparation of a set of intricate traditional dishes, and one of the main articles of export. Each inhabitant of these countries on the average eats not less than two hundred kgs of rice in pure form in a year.
Rice appeared about six millennia ago. Ancestors of Vietnamese saw a vlagolyubivost of wild rice and started to land it on jellied fields. About four thousand years ago rice began to be divided into some grades.

It is especially possible to allocate sticky fig. Ears of sticky rice are much higher usual and reach one and a half meters in height. Stalks firm, leaves green and dense. After cleaning sticky rice carefully is cleared and becomes transparent-white. In it there are more grains, than at usual fig. It steam for receiving very tasty dish, of it do cookies and pies. Of mature sticky rice do "sy" — sticky rice, boiled on pair, from young prepare "lump" — the fried sticky rice reminding sunflower sunflower seeds.

Various grades of rice demand different processing. But, as a rule, boiled rice should be dry and friable. Rice in the beginning well wash out in several waters while water won't be transparent. Then dry and fill in with water, slightly salt and cook at strong boiling not less than five minutes. After that in rice put the whole bulb and continue to cook until all water will boil away. Cooking proceeds about 15 minutes. Then a pan with rice densely close a cover, turn in paper and 15-20 minutes then submit on a table with a nutmeg and butter let's stand.

The European scientists believe that in quality rice is much more useful some "daily carbohydrates", than bread, and less calories, than wheat give to an organism.
Infrequent dishes of Vietnam

Vietnamese use meat of some mammals and reptiles which don't eat in Europe in nutrition. In the delta of Mekong three hundred years ago snakes crowded on each square meter of a land and water. They were natural nutrition.
Meat of a boa. Physicians consider useful meat and bones of a hungry boa.
Snakes. The waiter does small very exact cut on a live snake, takes out heart and lowers a blood. The man who has ordered a dish is offered to eat fighting snake heart. The blood spreads on wine-glasses, is admixed with rice vodka and drunk by all present. Then in rice vodka snake bile is added. Cherz half an hour moves ready snake meat which extinguish or fry with spices and nuts. The head of a snake at preparation cut in order to avoid poison hit in a dish. A rigid caudal part разваривают in a dense rice broth.
Rats. In Vietnam the rat is considered a delicacy — very gentle meat.
Cats. Cats too delicacy. The restaurants specializing on cats began to appear.
Dogs. Dishes from собачатины in Vietnam aren't infrequent, and very widespread. A dog in Vietnam in such measure as in Europe, it is not considered the friend of the person. Dogs are grown up on farms where they have no nicknames. On house festivals of a dish from a dog are a table ornament. Sobachatina fried, boiled, cutlets, shish kebabs. All dishes are seasoned with spices and greens and move without a garnish.
Fillet of a crocodile. Zoologists argue that crocodiles aren't ill in general therefore meat of a crocodile is very useful for health.
In Vietnam often to nutrition goes not only meat, but also a skin, ears, a skin and teeth of animals. Consumers of the products received from exotic live beings, believe that will get rid thus of every possible illnesses and will provide to itself long life and man's force.

The color of nail and girls

A girl or woman can show off all that she prefers to remain silent. Not knowing it.Psychologists believe that the color of paint, which uses women more often than others in their nails, can tell a lot about her character. Is this true? Let's check.

The black color on their nails prefer to see a very important power-hungry person, knowing what they want out of life.
They are not afraid of difficulties and always ready for them, because everyone always calculate in advance.
These women is difficult to be surprised, they are more envious than friends.

White chooses a girl, confident, conservative and stubborn.
With their point of view, it is from her, and never gives up until the last defends his position on any occasion.
However, stylists warn that the white nails will look truly beautiful only in conjunction with a tan.

Red - the color of emotion and unbridled passion.
Women who prefer to paint this color, it is impossible not to notice the crowd.
Bright and romantic person, love for whom the main and the only value in life.
These girls are happy and want everyone to know about it.
Red looks good on the hands and feet simultaneously.

Bright pink - girl chic, sexy and bold.
She likes the attention, it tends to be outrageous.
But if you paint your nails on the hands in hot pink, for toenails, choose a quiet shades: light pink or beige.

Light pink always makes nails look well-groomed and accuracy.
Color is not flashy and attracts the eyes of everyone, so it is preferred by ladies who devote all the time his career.
It is well suited to business suits and evening dresses.
Luck for all occasions.
Coral prefer calmer colors of nature, lovers of summer recreation and sports.
He looks good with light summer sundresses and suits all shades of tan.

Blue. Philosophical, peaceful, quiet women prefer it to him.
The color of cold restraint hides a strong and resolute character inner feminine fragility and vulnerability.
Such natures are revealed only in the range of their loved ones.

Blue nails are choosing young girls, and those for whom old age and youth - this is just a state of mind, but no it does not figure in the passport.
Blue fingernails tell the world about what you're young, happy and want to try something new.

Violet prefer strict office workers and bohemian personality.
Dark shades of purple suit for evening events, and light - for the day.
Yellow paint is ready to put on your nails a girl who has an unusual sense of style, she listens to Tchaikovsky and Shakespeare quotes in a leather black leather jackets, riding a sportbike.
So, if you ever wanted to try this image to themselves - think of a yellow varnish.

Golden ladies wear, combining incongruous and able to accurately indicate the "fashionable" others mistake.
Gold nails, you can add all black outfit with gold jewelry or jeans with a bright T-shirt and gold sandals.
Well, find out yourself?
