Guest Post by Gowmi

Bausch & Lomb New Biotrue Multi Purpose Solution Review

Hi MABHians,
This is Gowmi finished my MBA in human resource last July and back to home sweet home. Thank you Lancy for your lovely chance to share my review in MABH. I am up here with my first review today so advance apologizes if I do any mistakes, kindly forgive me :)
I am using contact lenses for past 4 years and recently I got severe viral infection in eyes. Unluckily the low brand contact lenses solution which I bought 2 months back gave me the viral infection. When I consulted my doctor, he recommended changing my contact lenses and especially the contact lenses solution. I wondered what a change in lens solution would possibly do! But I was totally wrong, lens solution plays a major role in protecting our delicate eyes and contact lenses. So as per my doctor prescription I bought Bausch + Lomb New BioTrue Multi-Purpose solution. Additionally I got this 60 ml biotrue solution as a trail pack with my Bausch Lomb contact lenses. This solution works great and keeps my lenses germ free totally. So here is the complete review of my New BioTrue multi-purpose Solution.

Product Description:
Wearing contact lenses, especially in a world of less sleep and more computer use, makes it more challenging for eyes to stay comfortable and healthy. To care for your lenses and your eyes, a lens care solution that works like your eyes was created. Biotrue multi-purpose solution moistens in a way your eyes do as it in pH balanced to match healthy tears. Biotrue multi-purpose solution helps prevent certain tear proteins from denaturing for clean lenses and fights germs for healthy wear.

Price and Quantity: Rs. 155 for 120 ml.

Storage: You may store your lenses up to a maximum of 30 days in the unopened lens case. If stored longer than 30 days between wear, you need to follow the cleansing and disinfecting steps prior to lens insertion.

Precautions:
  • Always discard solution from lens care after each use.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
  • Store solution at room temperature.
  • Use before expiration date printed on the carton and bottle.
  • Discard any remaining solution 90 days after opening.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Warning: Failure to discard solution from lens case after each use or use of water to care for lenses may lead to contamination resulting in eye injury and potential loss of vision. See accompanying instruction for additional important safety information. Do not use a heat disinfection regimen. If you are allergic to any ingredient in this product, do not use.

My Experience with Bausch & Lomb New Biotrue Multi Purpose Solution:

Packaging: This product comes with a  flip-flop cap and thus it is very easy and hygenic to use; travel friendly too. I have no complaints about the packaging.

Color, Consistency and Fragrance: This solution is transparent (like water) in nature and has a water like consistency too. Since it’s a contact lenses solution I couldn't find any fragrance in it.

How it works: Once in a week I will change the lens solution from my lens case. After this Biotrue solution I feel my lenses are so delicate and soft to use. My lenses are germs free ultimately and zero harmful to eyes. This bottle ranges from 120 ml onwards, so it’s easy to take my solution bottle where ever I travel. I use limited amount of solution in the lens case and I use little for cleansing whenever I wear. This 120 ml bottle lasts for about 27 to 30 days. Best thing about the solution is, it softens the contact lenses, disinfects and cleans it. All processes are together done by this solution and also when I wear it, my eyes are absolutely tear free.

Pros of Bausch & Lomb New Biotrue Multi Purpose Solution:

  • Absolutely tear free while wearing the lenses.
  • Baush+lomb is one of the best trusted brand for contact lenses solution
  • Keeps lenses protein-free
  • Keeps lenses germs-free
  • Softens the contact lenses, disinfects and cleans it
  • Multi purpose solution which can be used to cleanse the lenses when we wear
  • Protects including silicone hydro gel lenses

Cons of Bausch & Lomb New Biotrue Multi Purpose Solution:

  • I couldn’t find any con with this biotrue solution. Sorry :)

Makeup and Beauty Home: 5/5 (absolutely loving it).

Recommendation: Yes. I highly recommend it.

Would I Repurchase?: Obviously I will repurchase every month.

Eyes are the most sensitive organ in our body. They are very delicate. Eyes are mirrors of our personality. They are so expressive. Eyes show the early signs of aging. • While choosing eye care and eye make-up products make sure that they are nontoxic and safe for use on eyes. We must make healthy choices. When it comes to eyes we must never choose a product based on its marketing.

  • Mineral make up is best for summers. We must keep our eyes clean and avoid products that result in infections.

  • Try to keep your eyes clean.

  • Switch to hypo allergic products.

  • Before buying a product read the complete ingredients list carefully. Stay away from products with ingredients like parabens, talc, and color additives like kohl, silicates and polymers.

  • Eyes have a fragile nature. Don't rub them too hard.

  • Don’t buy any thick or strong creams for the eye. Only a mustard sized amount is enough for the eyes. Apply in dabs. Less is always more when it comes to eyes.

  • Many of us will be using concealers, illuminators etc. for the eyes. Always remember to use an eye make-up remover before going to the bed at night. No traces of make-up should be left.

  • Try to give a light massage to the eyes. Take olive oil in ring finger of left and right hands and massage in semi-circular movements. Don't apply more pressure, be gentle.

  • Everyday morning and night wash your eyes with a splash of water. They will be healthier.

  • Use eye compresses. Simply take a piece of cotton pad and moisten it with the milk/rose water/tea water. Put it on your eyes and wait for 5-8 minutes. Apply a moisturizing eye cream of your choice. This will prevent inflammation of eyes.

  • Eat right, wear sunglasses to protect the eyes from pollution.

  • Sleep well so the blood circulation under your eyes improves. Your eyes need rest.

  • Opt for a good vitamin E eye cream. Retinols can remove discolorations.

  • Choose an eye product according to your specific needs and those which are specially formulated for the eye.

  • Spend some time before the mirror concentrating on your eyes. Analyze yourselves what changes you need to bring to your eyes.

  • Refrigerate your eye cream and use it cold. It works the best this way.

  • Cucumbers can cool and refresh the eyes. Keep two round pieces of cucumber on your eyes for 15 min and relax. Those with dark eyes can use potato slices too.

  • Apply oil to your eyes brows and eye lashes so that it will get lubrication and grows well.  Shape your eyebrows.

  • Try to use natural products. Olive oil can also be used to remove make up.

How to Make Kajal (Kohl) at Home - For Bright and Healthy Eyes

Most of the women love wearing kajal on their eyes everyday as it highlight eyes and gives a bright look :) I got an idea of making my own kajal long before and successfully made it today! :D It really came out well and I wanted to share this secret procedure with you all. I hope you will like this post. Kindly note down the steps, make your own natural kajal and wear it everyday. This cools eyes and refreshes it, thus your vision gets better with regular use. I also suggest you to use this kajal every night before going to bed for bright and beautiful eyes. I have never felt such a cool feeling in my eyes like I felt today, I am really in love with my natural kajal. Let me tell you how I made it..

This is how it looks on my eye:

Things you will need :
  • Almonds
  • A long needle (A compass would be better though)
  • 2 same sized flat bowls ( Nice if not a conductor)
  • A long steel plate
  • A small container (To store the Kajal)
  • A drop of clarified butter or almond oil
Method:
1. Take an almond and carefully pin the needle into it's center, without breaking it into half. It should be like this..

2. Now you need to arrange the bowls and plates. Place two bowls in a straight line, there should be little distance in between them. The bowls are our stand. I used a steel bowl as I don't get a wooden one :( you can better use a wooden box or even a fireproof stand. Now place the steel plate above the stand.

3. After arranging, take the needle or the compass in which you pinned the almond, and wrap it's end with an holder or rough cloth carefully. As needle (iron) is a conductor, the heat will pass and you may burn your skin. Now you need to light the almonds and make them burn. Almond has oils and so it will act as a fuel for burning. I just simply switched on the gas stove and showed the almond in the flame for few seconds, it started burning. You should now gently and carefully hold the burning almond in between the bowls and below the plate, where there is free space. Take a look at this picture to make sure. (Sorry for the clarity :( )

4. A single almond will burn for about 2 minutes, after it stops burning and throw it off and do the same procedure with 4 to 5 almonds or as much as you need. You can see a black ashy layer forming on the bottom of the plate. This ashy layer which is formed by almonds oils, is gonna be our super natural kajal :) Take a look at the picture below, this is how the dark black ash of almond looks.. ( I am gathering it to store in my kohl container :D )

5. Now you have to gently scrap off the ashy layer with a knife or a steel scale as I did. Gather it and put it in a paper. Now carefully, drop this whole ash mixture into your container. I used an old empty Vaseline jar. After you stored the almond ash in the jar, add only a single drop of clarified butter(ghee) or almond oil. Mix well with a teaspoon's back side. Store it in a cool dry place. We made our own natural kajal now :)

My Take on this Homemade Almond Kajal
I never reviewed my own prepared cosmetics before and this is the first one :) and my favorite one too. I really loved this kajal as it doesn't irritate my eyes even a bit as other chemical ones do. I had a great cool feeling soon after I applied it. It's my darkest known kajal ever. Yes! It is really so dark. It has almond properties which are good for the eyes, I heard that with regular use it will even make your vision clear. For beautiful, clean white eyes everyone should prepare this one and use it everyday, at least at nights.

Things which I liked about it:
  • Dark shade which many girls will like.
  • It is chemical free, so no need to fear about side effects.
  • This one can even be used on baby's eyes as it's very cooling and mild.
  • Cheap to do, beats even many expensive kohl's in worth.
  • More than all the things, it is healthy for eyes and makes the vision clear.
  • Refreshes eyes and cures dark circles with regular use, as it has cooling sensation.
Things which I don't like:
  • As this is homemade and chemical free, it might smudge. You cannot expect this one should be smudge free but it doesn't smudge much for me. I felt this is same like the other kajals in smudging.
  • Very very dark in shade, so it might be tough to remove it even with makeup removers.
Really no other cons! It's a great homemade recipe which I made :) and I wish to use it throughout my life. It's very cooling and makes my eyes healthy. I am in love with my natural almond kajal! I strongly recommend everyone to make your own and use everyday. Share it with your friends in Facebook and tweet it (It's my kind request) and help them to get beautiful bright healthy eyes!
