Meet The Bloggers: Anuradha Kar from Golden Sequinns

Its Saturday again ladies and this means it's time for "Meet The Bloggers" again and well this Saturday, ISLM is featuring the very bubbly and very jolly Anuradha Kar from Golden Sequinns :)

Anuradha is the bengali bombshell from Kolkata whom we all know as the girl who is crazy about foundations and she is on a quest to find the "perfect" foundation for herself, though I personally feel that she rarely needs one :) Her very infectious smile and the glint in her slanted Bengali eyes are I feel her most attractive features. Her eyes remind me of a bengali phrase, which my mom uses a lot "durga thakur-er moton chokh". It means "eyes like that of Goddess Durga" :)

Come let us all know more about her :)

Full Name Please: Anuradha Kar

Anuradha Kar
Since How Long Have You Been Blogging: Well, actually I started “venting out my mind’s cacophony” (ya that’s my definition of blogging!!! HeHe) pretty long ago-in 2009 I think. My first blog was named –“The Cerebral Talks” where the topics were mostly abstract-some related to science-some to my general thoughts. But it was mostly personal blogging. Beauty blogging-having my own beauty blog as a public platform-all started in October 2011. But lemme say-I knew it wont be a piece of cake to have and maintain a blog -what with my PhD plans also happening at the same time. So I thought a lot before I went ahead with my blog The Golden Sequins. Deciding the name was another tough issue :D
Your Favorite Blog (Apart from your own): Mmm-its difficult to single out a particular one I must say! The blogging world holds a spectacular hoard of talent these days. I come across so many blogs-some have beautiful pictures, some have wonderful descriptions while some rock in their creative content (Like yours Suma-I love your EOTDs!!). Still if I am to choose-then Mehak’s “Peaches and Blush” blog is a favorite of mine. I adore Mehak’s style of writing, clear photos and reviews that I have found really useful. But as I say again-each blog is unique and holds their very own secret ingredient that make each of them special in their own way!!!

What does make-up mean to you:
Makeup is nothing short of magic to me-if you remember an old catchline of the brand Maybelline-it said: “Maybe shez born with it-Maybe its Maybelline!” That’s how wonderful makeup is! I don’t know-how many of us are born with the perfect skin-the  10/10 pout or with eyes that speak a million words. When I was a kid-I used to see girls in ad posters and wonder-what makes them look so different from regular faces! Now I know-the difference can be made by your own fingertips! The difference is in thinking apart-using your creativity-and being beautiful!

Lipstick girl or a Lip Gloss Girl:
Thoroughly a lipstick girl-and a fan of matte lippys! Basically on my lips, glosses fade away sooner than lipsticks and then I really like makeup that I don’t have to touch up for a whole day!
Kajal or Eye Liner:
Err.. both!! I am a through and through eye makeup person-and pamper both of my eye-lids equally. Actually I love darkly and starkly defined eyes J
Black Smoky eyes and Nude Lips or Nude eyes and Red Lips:
Black smokes with nude lips!!! Formal, semiformal or casual-this is my most favorite makeup combo. It takes 5 minutes to make a smokey eye with the Revlon eye crayons that I have in brown and black-and I just vary the intensity of colors to get different smokey effects. I mostly prefer black, brown or purple smokes. I also want to sport a sapphire smokey eye look someday, if I find a suitable dress to pair with!!! And I am a crazy fan of nude and MLBB lipcolors!!!
Pink Nail Polish or Black Nail Polish:
Pink! I had tried to wear black nail polish- but at the last moment-checked the nails and said-Nahh-and wiped out the whole thing to put on pink/beige/wine shades :D But if I get a nice glitter coat-like the ones from Deborah Lipmann-or buy a nail art stamping kit someday-I will try black for sure!!!

Favorite brand of cosmetics for Lipsticks:
Chambor (Powder Matte), Colorbar Velvet Matte, AVON Ultra Color Rich Lipsticks.
Favorite brand of cosmetics for Eye Shadows:
Revlon Colorstay. Great pigmentation and staying power. Beautiful combinations in shades available
Favorite brand of cosmetics for Eye Liners:
Well-these should be liner pencils for me. I would pick Revlon Colorstay or Faces Longwear liners
Favorite brand of cosmetics for Blushes:
Definitely Colorbar. I have been blushing away since “Just Earth” came to Earth :D

Favorite brand of cosmetics for Foundations:
Revlon, Faces, Maybelline. Currently loving the Faces minerals liquid makeup!!!

Now some quick questions:
Lakme or Lakme Absolute: Lakme-at least the product prices match with the quality offered by the products. And I have a conviction-that the Absolute range has only better containers :P
Colorbar I-glide or Faces Long Wear:
Faces long wear!!!! I think they are smoother and retain the pigmentation longer!!!
MAC eye-shadows or Inglot shadows:
Err-havent tried either-so cant say!
Maybelline Gel Liner or MAC Fluidline:
Sorry-I am a “MAC-virgin”-havent been touched by MAC yet -that is!! But Maybelline gel liner does a decent job at 1/3rdthe price I must say!
