Today I will be reviewing the Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Day Creme from the Lakme Perfect Radiance Range launched this April. I have already tried and reviewed the Lakme Perfect Radiance Fairness Cream which comes in a pink cute metallic tub but this one is different. This whitening creme is from a newly launched intense whitening range (They have introduced those whitening capsules treatment! Remember?) and comes in a different kind of packaging. Read my complete review below.

My Experience with Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Day Creme

Packaging: This product is packed in a white, sleek tube with a screw type opening. The nozzle dispenses the right amount of product with its tiny hole, hence no wastage. This sleek white tube is placed inside a outer carton and overall, the packaging is simple, travel friendly and easy to use.

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance: This is a white coloured fairness day cream with a very subtle peach tint. The peach tint is almost invisible to the eyes. The texture of this cream is smooth, moderately thick and it has a gentle, pleasing floral fragrance similar to the Lakme Fairness Day Cream which claims to contain sacred lotus extracts. The texture and fragrance of both these creams are more or less similar to each other.

How it works: I used this cream on summer and it suited my normal-oily skin well. This cream spreads smoothly onto the facial skin and gives a perfect matte finish which many oily skinned beauties out there would love. My T-Zone is left with a shine-free finish and moreover it brightened up my face instantly. I had to set the cream with a compact to make its staying power longer. This fairness day cream helped my facial skin stay matte for 3-4 hours but after that my T-Zone started to show some shine. This is not a problem with me though. With regular usage, it did not help lighten my scars or anything. It did not even lighten my complexion and finally, this is one fairness cream for oily skinned beauties who prefer an instant, bright matte finish. The tube packaging can also be considered easy-to-use and hygienic when compared to the previously launched Lakme Perfect Radiance Fairness Cream which comes in a pink tub. Another thing I wanted to mention is that it caused a very mild tingling sensation on my skin for 2-3 days when I first used it (I am not sure whether it is because of the continuous release technology they claim) and later my skin got practiced to it. Hence, if you have an extra sensitive skin type, you may not like this cream. Overall, this is a good, affordable instant brightening day cream for oily skinned beauties. A tube lasts me for 1 month with daily usage.

• Does not help with whitening skin or anything as claimed.
• Surely a no-no product for normal-dry and dry skinned people
• The matte finish doesn't last more than 3-4 hours

Recommendation: Oily skinned beauties who love matte finish day creams can give this a try! Do not expect any whitening or lightening effect from this cream.


Would I Repurchase?: I don't think so. There are more affordable day creams in the market with better results and moreover, I am not that much into fairness products.

Kyra & Me Together to Cheat the Angry Sun!

Challenge the Sun & Save Your Skin

Fine, if you're living in Chennai then you would be definitely knowing the exact meaning of 'summer'. Chennai's summer is something bad, something hot and something intolerable the most. Even when we are inside our homes, our body gives a 'Just now had a shower' effect then just imagine about how it would be when we are out! I have no idea about the other cities of India but I am sure Chennai has one of the most summery summers and yes! I have tried, tested and found some interesting ways to cheat the anger sun and save my skin as well, with Kyra.  What's so special with Kyra?! She has introduced me the yellow cuties (Of course the products from Lakme's New Sun Expert Range) to cheat the angry chilly sun!! Not only these yellow skin savers, but Kyra has also taught me how & when to use them to save my precious skin from the hot sun and pamper it at the end of the day! Our Early Morning Conversation

I got up in the morning and made a call to Kyra to ask about the plan of the day, as we are spending our summer holidays together! I did not feel much sun irritation on my skin as I applied this sunscreen for sun protection. As soon as we reached our home, I found that my skin hasn't been tanned or got red! This is a shocking sweet surprise for me Yay!

Lakme Fantasy Shimmer Eyeliner - Midnight Moon Review and EOTD

I am reviewing a liquid eyeliner from Lakme Fantasy Collection now. Sorry for irregular post time, I was a little lazy and also had some works. I remember doing some EOTD here with this eyeliner, which you can check out here. I know, this is somewhat a late review for this liner, but still I wanted to review this one as it became one of my favorite eyeliner. Now, let the see the product description before going into the review.

Product Description: Steal the secret to those twinkling eyes with a gel based liner infused with micro-fine glitter particles. This rich sparkle liner lets you line, layer or blend without smudging or spreading. I will be showing you some swatches and also a EOTD using this eyeliner, nothing much I have simply used this on my bare eyes (Ofcourse kohl-ed he he ) and hope you will enjoy this review. My Experience with this Product

This liquid eyeliner comes in a very classy sleek case with a long applicator. I loved the way of packaging, it is really cute and trendy. The lid is golden colored and the case is transparent. Stiff and travel friendly packaging, overall very well packed.

  The shade of this eyeliner is somewhat grayish blue with white, sky blue and dark blue shimmers in it, which are not all OTT on your eyes. You can apply this liner in whatever way you want as the application is so easy and in control.

  Soon after I applied this on my eyes it dried like a magic, within 2 or 3 seconds. I am impressed the way it dries because the Lakme insta liner one takes ages to dry :P the shade is not at all over powering, it is a daily wearable shade and a great substitute for regular black. I stopped using the black liners and jumped to this one recently.

 This fantasy eyeliner stays for up to 6 hours and even more if you don't sweat. It doesn't smudge at all whatever I rub, but pour some water and rub, it will totally vanish off. I expected it to be water proof but sadly it is not. This will go well for people who doesn't sweat much and surely a great buy I would say!

And see now, how it looks on my eyes.

PROS

1. Lovely shade, somewhat blueish gray. This is a daily wearable subtle glittery eyeliner.
2. Quick drying, dries in 3 seconds.
3. It doesn't smudge however you rub
4. Stays for a decent time.
5. Easily available
6. Can be removed easily with your daily cleanser.
7. Easy application with the long applicator. Every application is smooth.
8. The texture of the eyeliner itself is smooth with subtle shimmer which do not look OOT on your eyes at all.

CONS

1. Not waterproof
2. Might be pricey for the little quantity

Nothing more! I really love the shade. Waiting to try the other shades as well.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5

My Recommendation: Try for sure! This makes a perfect casual/formal wear eyeliner with subtle shimmers.

Will I Repurchase?: Of course. I will. I love this shade very much.

Easy 3 Minute Eye Makeup Tutorial for Beginners

Hey girls! Today I am here with a simple EOTD. Being an eye makeup beginner, I started loving experiments in eye makeup and the results are these continuous EOTD posts. I am sure, I will be posting more EOTDs and tutorials here as I almost turned an addict of them. This EOTD is the result of my morning try. I just started to try something different, no pre planning and it ended up like this. I am not that impressed with my perfection here, but still I loved the colour combination a lot. I used 2 different eyeliners with different shades and made the eyeshadow subtle. Let me show you the pictures and explain you the steps briefly.

Steps

1. Cleanse and Prime your eyes. I skipped the primer here and used the Lotus Herbals Swift Makeup stick instead. Apply your kajal (Optional) and wash your eyelids with the eyeshadow of your wish. I made the shade of the eyeshadow very light in this EOTD.

2. Now start lining your eyes with your favorite shimmer eyeliner. Don't go for black this time as black is the colour we girls use most of the days. If you are a expert in lining your eyes, you can do it in your comfortable way. If you're still a beginner, don't worry. First start lining from the middle upper lash line to the the outer corner, then line from the inner corner and join both. You can extend the eyeliner up to a some length of your wish but I personally prefer to extend not more than a bit, for a natural look.

3. After the eyeliner gets dry, start lining thin above the glittery eyeliner using your pencil eyeliner. Make sure both the shades match. As the first one we used is the shimmer one, a matte eyeliner will do the trick now. I prefer using any dark colour for this to get a fuller eye look. Apply your mascara and allow it to dry.

4. Now you can skip this step if you want :P I just tried something funny. If you're going out somewhere, please do skip this step. I designed my outer corner little funny with a liquid eyeliner simply. That's it. My EOTD is done. As a beginner, I felt very easy doing this, so hope you will too.

Lakme Fruit Blast Berry Lush Fruit Energizing Face Wash Review

Today's special is the review of Lakme Fruit Blast Berry Lush face wash which I have been using for past few months. It's too late as I reviewed few other face washes from this fruit blast range already. I gave the mandarin and melon ones to my friends, so the only thing left to review is this one. (I have another mandarin one with me, may review it later). I loved the yummiest fragrance of the Lakme Fruit Blast Strawberry Facewash and it got over long before. This one also contains Strawberries, and as bonus the raspberries too, hence I am using this nowadays. Let me give a detailed review about this with my experience. Oops!! Forgot to say! The Packaging

The Lakme Fruit Blast Berry Lush face wash comes in a tube like every other face washes from this range comes, with a flip type cap. The tube is semi transparent and hence it is easy to find how much is left inside the tube. The only thing that bothered me is the cap, In the first tube I used, it was perfect and travel friendly. But when I got my second tube, the cap was too tight to open/close and hence I gave little more force to open.. Ouch.. The cap got very loose then.. Hence, I couldn't take it anywhere and it's not travel friendly. The flip cap should be improved in these fruit blast face washes. Other than this thing, I loved the hygienic and cute tube packaging!

Colour, Consistency and Fragrance

The face wash is gel based and deep plum coloured with tiny strawberry seed exfoliators floating inside it (Refer below pic). The consistency is neither too thick, nor too runny and it lasts for more than a month. And it has a very yummy and mild fruit fragrance (Not sweeter than the strawberry face wash from this range though) and I loved it as it gives a fresh feel with every wash. But I doubt whether the few tiny exfoliating beads exfoliate my whole facial skin or not with a tiny squeeze. Other than this doubt, I am totally okay with this product's CCF. And so, No more complaints about the colour, consistency or fragrance! Perfect!

                                 Floating tiny Strawberry Seed Exfoliators

How it works on Me

I will finish this part short and sweet.

This face wash gives a cooling sensation and obviously tingles a bit too which may be okay for some people and not okay for very sensitive skins. The lathering effect is very less, it lathers only a bit when I rubbed many times in my hands. If you expect for a rich lathering face wash, this wont be your choice at all. Unlike the Strawberry face wash from this fruit blast range, it doesn't dry out my skin much. Listen, not to the extent of no need of moisturiser, It just doesn't dries. Doesn't moisturises too. The stretchy feel in dry skins will be less when compared to the strawberry face wash and of course you will need a moisturiser after cleansing your face with this.Other than this, it's perfect for everyday use with a mild fruity fragrance and gel texture. A great face wash for oily skins (May be normals too) and for dry skins, I won't recommend this. Go for a extra nourishing one. Overall it's a good fruit face wash.

Rating: 3.5/5 (-1 for the tingle and -0.5 for no moisturising effect)

PROS

1. Yummy fruit fragrance which will be a treat for strawberry and raspberry lovers.
2. Affordable price for the quantity.
3. Easily available everywhere.
4. The very cute gel texture with exfoliating beads which many may like.
5. It doesn't give much stretchy feel (Expect dry skins). Oily skins will love it (Normal skins in winters)
6. Great for everyday use for a refreshing feel with fruit extracts!

CONS

1. Because of the cap in few packs (not all), it might not be travel friendly.
2. Tingling sensation may not be liked for sensitive skins.
3. I doubt whether the exfoliating beads work or not (Because they are less in numbers)
4. Stretchy feel in dry skins.
5. Doesn't lather well. If you expect rich lather, this won't be your choice.

My Recommendation: Go for it oily skins! You will love the refreshing fruit aroma in every wash. Normal skins can try this in winters. Dry skins and very sensitive skins stay away as this is not moisturising and tingles a bit too.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase?: Yes, in summers for the fruit fragrance. It's not going to be my winter choice.

NOTD: Lakme True Color Nail Color in 250

I am on vacation but how much ever I tried staying away, Ihad to give in to my urge to update my blog :) Well yes people I miss you all and wanted to share with you guys this new shade of nail polish I am wearing right now...

I went to beauty centre today to check out and purchase some Lakme Absolute Color Crus Nail Colors but ended up buying the original Lakme True Color Nail Color in the shade "250"...

LOTD & Tutorial: Merry Christmas - Look#1

Though I am a Hindu and we don't really celebrate christmas as such, but the holiday season still never fails to cheer me up and make me hopeful for the joys to come in the coming year... Though we are still 16 days away from Christ's birthday but I am excited already :) And yup a merry christmas to every one of my readers even if it is a bit early ;)

As Christmas has such an effect on me I plan to doing a series of LOTDs that are christmas inspired and well this is the first one of the lot :) Hope you guys like it!

Tutorial:
1. First, I primed my eyes with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. Applied it all over my eye lids.

Priming my lids 

 2. Next, taking the cream highlighter shade from Sleek Eyey Shadow Palette "original", I applied it all over my lids.

Applying the lid color

3. Then taking the golden brown shade from the palette, I applied it on the outer 3/4 region of my eye.

4. Now, using a matte brown shade I blend it along the crease.

5. Finally, I apply a highlighter on my brow bone, liner on my lash line and waterline and coat my lashes with mascara!

6. An optional step is to wear some false lashes for the va-va-voom effect ;)

REVIEW & EOTD: Lakme Absolute Baked Eye Shadow in Day Queen

I have always been an eye makeup person and so it was imminent that if I was to purchase stuff from the Lakme Absolute Range, one of the purchases had to be an eye-shadow. This perhaps is the first time that baked shadows have been launched in India and well it is a sign that cosmetic giants in the world are slowly recognizing us as a potentially big market :) Do you know what this means? It means we can now hope for loads of new product launches :) So, anyways coming back to baked eye shadows, I already own one from Maybelline called the Navy Narcissist. So this is my second baked eye shadow and well I am not really impressed :(

Lakme Absolute Baked Eye Shadow in Day Queen is an eye shadow duo in two tones of shimmery green shadow. As you can see, one shade is a pale green while the other is a shimmery Olive Green. As expected the Olive Green shade is more pigmented while the light green is hopeless. Yes I know baked shadows perform better when wet but trust me that didn't really help much either :( All in all this is one product that kinda disappointed me :(

As you can see that this product has failed to impress me at all. It's very rare that I give negative reviews to any product but this one really was not worth the amount I spent on it... So no I do not recommend thsi product.
