Look Of The Week - Sunlight, Sunshine, All For You My Daisy

Yesterday me and Mamaw popped down to The Chequers where I treated her to lunch. It was another gloomy, cold and rainy day so I just dressed fairly casual. It was a nice meal but unfortunately for once my eyes were bigger than my belly and it defeated me, I only managed a few chips and half of my burger :(

My sister dropped round some clothes she never wears anymore, including this gorgeous white top. It's a bit see through so I wore another white vest top underneath and just wore some jeans and boots. A very basic look, but nice none the less.

Make up I kept to a minimum as well, although I did wear this beautiful Benefit lipstick I got for Christmas. It's ridiculous how long my fringe is getting but I'm too scared to trim it myself. I think I might have to just man up and do it though as I can barely see anymore!

LOTW

I haven't done a 'Look Of The Week' in ages and with my new jeans and such lovely weather, I thought it was about time I did another! It was my day off today so last night and today I did a bit of pampering (redone my hair, my nails etc) then today I took Jasper for a long walk before relaxing in the garden with a book :)

A nice and summery look! I really love this outfit, the jeans are my new favourite buy as I've wanted a pair of jeans in a nice pastel colour for ages now. I very rarely pay over £30 for jeans but they fit so well that I didn't mind paying a bit extra! I love the contrast of the white top over the flower print top too. The flower print top is actually a sleepwear top I bought from Matalan for £1! I love lace as well so I'm happy I found a top that looks so nice beneath it. The sandles are also so comfy as well, I bought them from Primark for £2 for holiday and pretty much wore them the whole time.

I love my new bracelet, I bought this from a gorgeous shop in London on Sunday called Source and it was filled with loads of really quirky stuff but was quite cheap compared to how expensive 'quirky stuff' can be.

Also, I'm really loving my hair at the moment! Although I adore having dark brown hair, I decided I wanted a change for summer so I used Colourb4 last night and it lightened up my hair A LOT. My skin looks a lot more healthy and less pale with a lighter shade and the shade now is quite close to my natural hair colour. I'm planning to slowly go back blonde over the next few months but in the meantime at least my roots aren't showing and it's a nice shade. I was convinced I'd be ginger after using Colourb4 as I've dyed my hair pretty much every colour under the sun and the red in my hair from like three years ago was still noticable in my hair before I used it but it looks like I've finally got rid of all the red. Very pleased with the outcome!

No Jeans Policy & Look Of The Week - Girly trip to the cinema

Before I go onto my LOTW, I'll also quickly explain that this also counts as outfit one of my 'No Jeans Policy' for Lent! I have decided to give up jeans for lent (that's a whole 46 days!) as I feel I practically live in jeans and never experiment with skirts or leggings on a day to day basis. I will either blog my outfits daily or weekly, but in the meantime you can check out my progess here. You can also check out my new page/blog section on this by clicking the 'My No Jeans Policy For Lent' along the top of the page, beneath the banner. Wish me luck!

Anyway, onto LOTW. Me and my friend went to see The Vow tonight which was very sad and we went for a Maccy D's afterwards. Here's the look from tonight.

I didn't want to make too much of an effort as we were only going to the cinema (and I was afraid of wearing too much makeup incase I cried as I knew it was going to be a sad film!) so this look is fairly casual. I've basically just worn a baggy deep blue top, which if you look closely, you can see it has small little gems on the neckline. I wore this over purple leggings and a pair of brown boots which have a bit of a heel on them so they are also a bit girly too. I chose a light grey/brown hoodie to add a bit of colour to the outfit, then just added some really nice accessories as shown in the last photograph. I also love my makeup here, I used the pallete from my 'Her Name Was Glowla' benefit pallette that I got for Christmas. The eyeshadow colours I used were white, light brown and dark brown. This look is fast becoming my favourite daytime look as I usually struggle to wear eyeshadow in the day without making it too heavy or over the top. However this is a really nice light and casual look that I think brings out my eyes. The lipstick I'm wearing is also a recent new favourite of mine, I have no idea what make it is but I picked it up from a cheap make-up store when I was in Sunderland and haven't stopped wearing it since. I think its the perfect deep pink shade.

Look Of The Week - Dinner

So on Sunday us girls (me, my mum, my sister and my nan) went out for dinner. My brother is getting married next weekend (I can't wait!) so as a surprise, all the girls from the family and my future sister in law's family got together to surprise the bride to be with a nice meal out. It was lots of fun!

I loved my outfit, I felt it was very glam! I wore my new dress from MissRebel which is an open back dress - something I have been after for ages and that I think is very sexy! I went for a very classic look with my makeup and hair, I curled my hair although it ended up more tassled and used a very deep red lipstick. I wasn't too confident about this but in the end I got loads of compliments! On the second picture it has unfortunately rubbed off (and I look a bit gormless, oops!). Also, as you may see in the first picture (which I took after I'd got home) I spilt profiteroles down my front which isn't a surprise coming from me. I used colours from my Front Cover to go makeup set and used a small tutorial in there to create a 'smouldering evening look'. Although you can't see in the photos, I used browns and golds on my eyes with a aqua colour for beneath my lower lashes just to give the look a bit of an edge.

I was kind of worried about what type of bra I'd wear with this dress as part of it was backless (I really wish I'd gotten a photo of this!) but luckily one of my normal bra's was just about okay! I just used the belt to hold the dress in place, i.e stopping my bra appearing over the top of the material but in future I'm going to purchase a proper backless bra to wear with this dress. Luckily it was okay as a quick fix as I was only going to dinner, but in the long run I will be purchasing a proper bra for it.

I was very pleased with this look, it's nice to go a bit classic now and again!

Look Of The Week - Clubbing

I had a great time out clubbing with my best friend yesterday and I really loved my outfit/look!

(Classy haha!)

So, am a girl therefore as always I do get insecurities. On nights out as much as I try to look my best, there's probably one or two things I can fault. Not last night though. I don't want to sound all up myself or anything but I think I looked bloody hot last night! I was really really happy with my look.

The dress looks like it would be from Lipsy or something, I actually bought it for like £2.50 on my work experience at More! Magazine when they were selling all clothes, hair and beauty stuff for really cheap. So the dress was a real bargain! My work experience was back in April and I haven't had the chance to wear the dress yet (how sad is that) so I was soo happy to get to wear it! Also, I had to wear a strapless bra with it but because it was kind of a halter neck design I didn't even have to spend the whole night pulling it up.

I didn't want my makeup too over the top so I just tried to do a smokey eyed look and just smudged it a bit to give it a bit of an edge, and I wore fake eyelashes too. However the ones I wore are quite natural looking, if anything they just give your eyelashes that extra oomph! I love the lipstick I'm wearing, it's a really bright girly pink shade and I absolutely adore it. I tend to wear it on a day to day basis too but normally I tone it down with a more neutral shade on top as it can be a bit too bright on its own for in the day. However I just wore it as it was last night.

And my hair I just straightened then back combed it a bit to give it a bit of volume. I did want to curl it but didn't have time. I was stuck on what to do with my fringe as well as normally I pin it back but I didn't really have any clips or slides that would be okay for a night out so I just left it as it was.

The shoes I wore, I got these from a charity shop/shop that specializes in vintage clothing. I kind of regret wearing these shoes because I'm not sure what it was, but once I was drunk I couldn't walk at all. I know that sounds pretty self explanatory but even though I was pretty drunk (the most I've been in a while) I was struggling to walk and was tripping up all over the place! Yet when I took them off I was fine...so it was either the shoes, the drink or a mixture of them both. I was a bit gutted coz I only got to dance for a bit, in the end I took them off and just walked around barefoot (yes you think I'd learn from the time I got my foot cut open by glass WHILST wearing shoes). I didn't put them back on in the end haha!

I also saw one of my ex's! I've got to hand it to him though, I always bump into him at the start of the night when I'm still looking good. I don't even know why he was there as I saw on Facebook that he was going to a grimy rock club at the other side of town but I can't say I wasn't happy, I haven't seen him in months and I looked bloody good. Mwah ha ha. Except about half an hour after I saw him the drink shot to my head and thats when I began falling over constantly, which I hope he didn't see but he probably did knowing my luck.

All in all I was really pleased with my look last night and reckon I looked pretty damn hot!

Look Of The Week - Scouting For Emo Boys!

Only a little bit of scouting for emo boys! Today I'm just lounging around the house, feebly job searching online. I really love this jumper so I wore this outfit a couple of days ago when popping into TK Maxx and B&M with my Mum, and we all know that it's a well known fact that these type of stores only employ hot men. So I was sort of perving on emo boys at the time.

I can't believe I've actually had the guts to put this up! This is what I wear on a day to day basis when I'm lounging around the house - it's not a pretty sight! Have you ever looked at other girls blogs where they post photos of them constantly looking glam? Have you ever wondered how they do it everyday? I have! Well, this is me with minimal makeup, little sleep and no effort haha!

I adore this oversized jumper, I actually bought it in a few sizes too big so it was baggy on me so it's perfect for a day like this. My hair looks horrible! Unfortunately for me, I cannot do my hair nice, and even when I pull it up into a messy ponytail it never looks like the nice messy kind!

I must also note that I hate wearing my hair up anyway, I never go out in public like this, even so that when I went to TK Maxx I still refused to put it up despite the fact that it needed washing!

I didn't bother with any accessories either, except for some little flower/rose stud earrings and a hairband that had a leopard bow on. I've hardly done my eyebrows here too, I can thank my dad for having fair eyebrows! And my nails are, shock horror, still a very chipped version of last times LOTW (see here). I'm clearly a terrible excuse for a girl, leaving my nails to get this chipped, not making much effort today haha! I'd die if today was the day Shia Labeouf came to my house (my motto is normally you never know who you might bump into so always try and look your best)!

So yeah, in conclusion, this is me not at my nicest but I suppose it's refreshing to see! I'm also wearing most makeup I wear anyway but it doesn't seem to have made much difference today!

Look Of The Week - Sunday Dinner

It was so hot today that we decided to eat outside and swapped our usual roast dinner to a salad and bits. It's the first proper meal I've had all week as my parents have been on holiday to the south of France and I can't cook to save my life - I just snack or eat random things like party sausage rolls for dinner! They arrived back last night though and it's been nice having them back.

I just really chose anything today as it was so hot, I wanted something light and little. I chose this dress as it's new - in actual fact my Nan bought me it when she was shopping with my cousin and I was pleasantly surprised! I don't normally wear dark colours and I don't think I own a thing with green in it so it was a nice change. I think it went well with my dark hair. I didn't really bother with many accessories and as we've just been in the back garden, I didn't bother with shoes either! In the end I really wish I'd worn my hair up because it's been so hot, but at the same time I like it down because as I said I think my dark hair goes with it.

Look Of The Week - Work Experience

This picture is from a few weeks ago now from on my work experience but I really love this outfit! This week I've not done nothing interesting as I've been working on my dissertation (which means slobby clothes, hardly any makeup etc) so I thought I'd use this as my 'Look Of The Week'!

I went for a very vintage look, teaming the dress with vintage accessories. I adore this dress, its so chic and stylish right now. It has a peter pan collar which I love! I also like the structured shoulders which are also very stylish, but as you can see in the second photo they look a bit silly and scrunched up when posing like that! The outfit was really more for practicality, it was lovely and hot in London but it was cold on the coach early in the morning which is why I wore matching tights. My only dislike are the fact that both the tights and shoes are black so they really blend into one and look a bit silly! I didn't bother much with my hair as I never had time in the mornings but adding the bow accessory to clip back my fringe spruced the do up a bit. I think I'll be looking out for a belt to break up the outfit a little. I haven't added a photo of accessories or nails as I didn't bother much with accessories ; I wore only some wooden bangles and my nails were the same colour as they were in the last 'Look Of The Week'!

Look Of The Week - Village Party

This is quite a casual look I donned for my sister's village party this weekend with a bit of a festival twist. I really love this outfit, the long cardigan was ideal as the weather was warm but windy and the hat really helped the outfit match the village feel. The only thing I'm not too sure about in this outfit is the jeans - the jeans are a bit baggy around the top but tight at the bottom and I forgot that the top I am wearing is raised at the front. In future, high waisted jeans or shorts would look a lot better. I am wearing just plain black pumps with this outfit.

Unfortunately you cannot see my make up too well (and I am pulling a silly pose) but I went for a quite casual look with the makeup as well. I swept my eyes with Urban Decay's smog, just along the top and bottom of the lash lines, keeping it simple. Although you cannot see in the photo, I chose a rather pale pink shade for my blusher rather then a deep pink that I normally wear, and used a girly pink on my lips to add a bit of colour to my face. I didn't choose much for accessories either as I felt the hat was enough, but the oversized ring is a personal favourite of mine that I feel goes with everything.

Look Of The Week - Date Night Down The Pub

'Look Of The Week'

There are many different variations of these such as 'Outfit Of The Day' and 'What I wore today' but mine is '..of the week' so to say because I don't think I'm simply fashionable enough to have an original, stylsh outfit to post up everyday of the week! Also, I'm choosing to focus on the look as well as the outfit which means the makeup, jewelry and hair will be taken into consideration.

Look One - Date Night Down The Pub

This was a look I put together to be quite casual with a bit of glam because we were going out for some food at the pub as well. So I'm wearing ;

Embellished jacket - Next (in the sale) - £25.00 down from £75.00
Paris top - Republic - £29.99
Skinny fit jeans - Primark
Knee High Boots - Price and shop unknown as they were a gift
Silver bangle - Price and shop unknown as I knicked it from my sister hehe

I chose this look because it wasn't too casual and it wasn't too dressy. The boots dressed down the outfit a bit whereas the jacket glammed it up so the look had a good balance between the two. I wanted a white vest top go to underneath the jacket but I don't own any plain ones..I think that even though this top is printed it goes okay as it matches the boots.

I also wore these rings with the outfit

which I thought gave it a bit of an edge. (I couldn't take a picture of them all as my camera is terrible and anything close up comes out blurry).

Makeup wise, though you can't really tell in the picture, I wore the smokey eyed look with a faint pink blush and a light base of red lipgloss. I also just straightened my hair and didn't use any product except for a little bit of my boyfriends styling gel to help smooth down my fringe.

Well, there you go, my look of the week!

P.S Please let me know what you think, I'd love to hear some opinions!
