Lotus Herbals Licorice White Skin Whitening Cleanser Review

Hello girls and guys!
I am here with a bathing cleanser review today. This is the one I am using for past one month noting it's benefits and disadvantages. And I want to mention a thing, it's my first used skin whitening body cleanser ever. It is a product of a famous skincare and cosmetic brand Lotus Herbals, the product name is "Lotus Herbals Licorice White Skin Whitening Cleanser. Before going into the review, let me give you some information about what is licorice and how it is used in skincare.
Licorice is the root of a herbal plant which is called "Mulethi" in northern India and "Adhimadhuram" in south. Licorice has anti inflammatory ingredients in it, thus it is used to treat many of the skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema etc. I heard licorice helps in reducing scars and improving skin texture naturally. This is the main reason why I purchased this cleanser and using it. It is made of herbal root extracts in a very natural way, thus it is not going to affect anyone's skin like other chemical soaps. Now let's move on to my review.

My View About Lotus Herbals Licorice White Skin Whitening Cleanser
My aim is not to whiten or lighten my skin tone, though I purchased this cleanser to remove some uneven tan and make my skin look brighter. The cleanser comes in a cute pink with cream colour mixed box which is transparent at the top, showing the cleanser a bit outside. I loved this packaging. Seeing the image of this cleanser in an online shopping site, I thought it would be a cream based cleanser. But when I received it, I came to know it is not. The cleanser is brown, transparent and gel based. It disappointed me at first as I thought that it is not going to provide any moisture to my skin and leave it dry, but the cleanser is very gentle, pure and has a lovely fragrance which doesn't dry out my skin at all. I can't say that it moisturizers my skin like other creamy soaps, but it doesn't dry out or strip off the excess moisture from my skin. Though a body lotion is needed to moisturize skin after using this cleanser in dry winters.
I loved the smell of this cleanser, but my sister said that it is just okay-okay range. I don't know about how it smells for you, but I am sure it is not going to hurt anyone's nose. The fragrance gives a fresh feel while bathing and after bath too. Oops I forgot to say! The main thing about this cleanser is, it is bar shaped but slightly curvy at the sides as you can see in the above images. This makes the cleanser looks really cute and easy to hold while bathing. The other good things about this cleanser are, it doesn't contain any chemicals, no side effects and it removed my tan really well. It started brightening my tanned skin just in a week. Even though the cleanser is not cream based, it lathers really well, smooth and creamy. I use a loofah pad to apply and cleanser and gently scrub my skin while bath, it really does lathers very well. I allow the lather to work on my skin for 2 minutes before taking a shower. But this cleanser doesn't give any sudden whitening effects, so the claim of whitening is false. If you are looking for a mild, gentle herbal tan removing cleanser, go for it. I recommend it to everyone who wants to remove their tan and get even skin tone. 70 Rs for a soap may be a bit costly for few people but it is worthy totally. A cleanser bar lasts for about a month with daily usage and it doesn't give any side effects on my skin. It lives up to its claims expect the whitening effect, it just made my skin brighter and tan free, just much and affordable for this price.

PROS
    • No chemicals, no side effects as it is made of all natural herbal ingredients.
    • Nice and lovely fragrance which can't be hated by anyone. Makes every bath fresh.
    • The packaging is cute and the cleanser is easy to hold while bathing due to it's curvy sides.
    • Removes tan up to an extent and even tones skin with regular use.
    • The cleanser doesn't dry out my skin at all.
    • Lathers much and it's very creamy, everyone will love it.
    • Cleanses well deeply without leaving any oiliness and residues.
    • Lasts for about a month with regular daily usage.

      CONS
        • The whitening claim is false. It just brightens the skin by removing tan. This can't be taken as a con for this price and good worth. At least it is chemical free so even children can use it without any fear.
        • Not too costly, but some people may feel this is a bit pricey for a cleanser.
        • Not available everywhere unlike the other cleansers, I purchased it through online only.

My Recommendation: Go for it! Worth a try. It does clears out skin and removes tan up to an extent. Dry skins, don't forget to nourish skin with a lotion after bathing as it doesn't have much moisturizing effect.

My Rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for availability and less moisturizing effect)

Will I repurchase?: Sure, this is going to be my everyday cleansing bar until I find a better one. It is simply and naturally awesome! :)
